Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the sound quality, lens protection, ease of use, and lightweight design of The Frame Mount, with many praising its improved recording capabilities and snug fit. They also appreciate the frame's compatibility with various GoPro models and accessories, enabling extended battery life and versatile mounting options. However, customers are negative about the product's price point, considering it expensive for the materials used, and its lack of water resistance. The absence of waterproofing is a significant drawback for users who need a protective case in wet conditions.

This thing is great if you want better audio and/or access to the USB port. I was able to mount my GoPro with this on a tripod and do an extended TimeLapse because I plugged in a USB battery pack into the GoPro to keep it charged longer. It's great.

Great product! Keeps the product relatively safe and sturdy with the lens cover, and hard casing around the sides. The lens cover alone is worth it when you don't have your GoPro in its Hard Shell!

    Great mounting option

I use this frame mount often when using my GoPro Hero 4 Black edition in the car with the suction mount. It allows the microphones on the camera to pick up the sound clearly without being muffled. The protective lens is great so I don't have to worry about the cameras build in lens getting damaged. Only problem I have encountered with this mount is it can be susceptible to cracking at the locking mechanism over time of removing and reinstalling the camera into it. Other than that I really enjoy this mount over the others. Its not water proof obviously so as long as the camera is not going to be exposed to that element it is a solid option.

    Just barebones

While I think this is overpriced (like many gopro products), this does what I needed. I was looking for something barebones and that's really all you get. No issues though.

    Plenty Stiff, Kinda Clunky

My original frame cracked right through the top button. I was pleased to see the new version a little stiffer than the original design, but the clamp release makes it difficult to extract the camera, an now is grabbing onto the very thin metal plate on front of the camera, and I suspect it will eventually peel that off.

    Cheaply made

I didn't have the problem with the shutter button on my 4 silver, but the first time that I used it, the frame broke at the lock while I was hanging the camera 300 feet over a waterfall. I felt the rattle and got it in before I lost the camera. Both sides cracked under the latch. Not worth the money for this one.

not for the hero 4 although advertised for

the frame's record button isnt wide enough inside to overlap the hero 4's record button. so it lays on the hero 4's (raised) record button waiting for any slight bump to the top of the frame, which will trigger the record button. i like the frame, well built for hero 3 and 3+ models but is pretty useless for the hero 4 model.
