This remote is great it's very small which makes it easy to carry and has easy controls to understand nothing complicated

This GoPro remote is awesome! You can turn on/off the camera, start/stop recording or take your photos depending on the mode the camera is in, change camera modes, add "HiLight Tags" in videos by pressing the settings/tag button, and what I think is the best feature is the status screen (showing the same details shown on the front of the camera right on your remote: the current mode, how long the current recording is, how much space is left on the memory card, and how much battery is left). This is a must for anyone who will use their GoPro in such a way that it won't be on them or with them but they still want to be able to control it. For me, I've used it to record my band playing live music and with this remote I could start and stop recording for each song which is way easier than having to edit one long video. My only issue and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the first time I tried to use it, I was able to start and stop a short test video, then I started recording for real, and then the remote froze. I could no longer use it to stop the current recording or do anything else. I read that if this happens, as it has to others, you can reset the remote by pressing and holding the Power/Mode button on the remote for about 8 to 10 seconds. In my case, I forgot about it and didn't need my GoPro for a while, so the remote battery eventually died. I then recharged the remote before I was going to need it again and it worked fine the next time I used it.

Nice camera to have an vacation. The girls had fun filming each other taking pictures of each other taking pictures those around them. And they enjoy the underwater pictures they were able to take while in Hawaii

This review makes using your go pro so much more versatile.. You can set it up for action shots or leave it on your tripod for that group shot. It makes it so much easier than having to connect your phone.

Awesome, Upgraded from a Hero 2. The clarity of this GoPro is amazing. The ability to connect to a phone using app to see what the camera is recording is really cool. I would recommend this to everyone.

Purchased for hunting and is super easy to use and link with Go Pro.

The GoPro remote is an excellent add-on because it allows me to keep the GoPro mounted while being able to control it remotely. Although it was a little tricky at first to get the remote to sync with my camera (probably just user error), being able to keep the GoPro mounted to press the record button is great. I love being able to see the camera display on the remote ... it means I don't have to second-guess if the camera is actually capturing footage!

This remote is easy to use and works great with the GoPro. It makes it easy to take pictures from afar.

My husband has mounted his gopro 4 silver to the front of his kayak & uses the remote whenever he wants to record something. This is very convenient because he does not have to lean forward to mess with the gopro or use his cell phone & risk dropping it in the water. He can simply click the button, look at the screen, click again, & then continue paddling.

Compared to the original remote. The smart remote is definitely an improvement as far as easier navigating through your settings in your camera with a remote. It did have a longer battery life and they further Wi-Fi range than original. But I use my Gopro for diving so I wanted to see what the range was like the new remote. Although I need a remote to go further than 30 feet most of the time I was interested in seeing how the display was visible underwater. I was able to see the display good enough to navigate through my camera. But I lost Wi-Fi signal a round 20' 25'.

I really like they remote however it dies rather quickly and is not as user friendly as I thought it would be.

This Remote work perfectly to allow you to remotely access your camera, so taking selfies, taking videos using the head strap or on my dog vest like a charm!! very nice addition to my GOPRO!

This is my second Go pro and it is a little complex at first but once you get the hang of it, it is excellent. Great footage clarity and the accessories that are available make it even better.

Bought this recently. The remote is clean and slick. Basically effortless to use. Makes taking photos easier to use, videos, and burst shots a breeze. Especially if I am trying to conserve the life of the battery on my phone. I would recommend this to anyone trying to find a way to work do a little less work and enjoy capturing the memories.

A great tool to help take great photos and videos. The remote is a little hard to set up but easy to use

Works as advertised on land, under water forget it. It loses wifi connection almost immediately when submerged and you're left unable to use until you resurface. At least it is water proof.

This remote is great. Turn the gopro on and off as needed. Saves battery and allows you to see what action the camera is on, movie, photo or action shots. Change it on the go. I love it.

Used this on a pig hunt. I down loaded the app on my iPhone and it failed just as the hunt started. If I didn't not have the remote things would have been a lot harder to film my hunt.

Great but battery life is iffy and connection to camera us easy to lose.
