These lights don't really seem to be for outdoor use. The bulbs filled with water then froze. I had two strings that were connected. Several bulbs on both strings stopped working. In addition, despite initially being able to have these two strings connected (two is the limit) they stopped being synchronized with each other and I was unable to work the second string from the app. I would not recommend these for outdoor at all and good luck with indoor. I returned these to the store.
