    Gravity is Great

The first I ever heard of Gravity was at Comic Con a couple years ago. All I knew was that the panel was going to have Bullock answering questions about this space movie. I was amazed at the footage they showed. It was incredibly intense for jus a few minutes worth. I couldn't wait to see the whole thing. Gravity didn't disappoint as it kept up that intensity the whole film. Fx are stunning. Now that I have it at home it still amazes me.

Watching Gravity in Imax 3d was one of the coolest movie experiences I've ever had. Sure the technology and effects were fantastic, but without a great story it's just another Avatar. It's a film about living vs. existing. You aren't bogged down by lots of backstory, rather you're given the bare minimum of details about the characters and its all for the best. It's a briskly paced film that has you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

This movie was everything they said it would be. The first 20 minutes were absolutely amazing, the interplay between Bullock and Clooney really gave this movie character. The development of Bullock's character was central to the story. She grew from a space newbie, into a self assured survivor. The photography was stunning and the special effects were awesome. The special features disk was really good and gave a lot of insight into the movie.

My whole family enjoyed gathering together to watch this movie in the comfort of our home. While most of the movie seemed so real, there were parts that seemed to be exaggerated. I know Sandra Bullock had to survive, but I don't think an inexperienced person out in space (as opposed to an experienced astronaut) would be able to think clear enough to perform the tasks required to save themselves, especially with nothing to guarantee their survival.

I had heard about this movie, and how good it was. I took it with a grain of salt... but this movie started off at the edge of your seat immediately, and barely let up the entire time. I do not think I've ever seen a movie that was so intense for so long. The effects are masterful, and you become totally immersed in the movie. In 3D is a huge bonus.

This is a good movie and very entertaining. The special effects and views are incredible. But I thought there was a lot of stuff that was unbelievable. In the beginning the astronauts were goofing around on their space walk, there were too many times when a character would pause when there should have been a since of urgency. I did think George Clooney and Sandra Bullock were great as always. It is a good movie but could have been better.

The movie is good. I saw it in the theater and Best Buy had it on sale so I had to get it and add it to my library. Even though I am not a fan of Sandra Bullock; (Her face is too angular, she looks too much like a man for me and she always plays these whinny parts so well) this roll fits her perfectly. A must see if you like good special effects and a few plot twist along the way. Definitely worth the $7.99 I paid for blu-ray.

I really liked this movie. You have two great actors playing the lead roles and they deliver. The only scene I did not care for was when Clooney had to get cut loose to save Bullock. His line is cut and it's like he is jettisoned into space when in the rest of movie the only way you moved was by way of jet propulsion. It's still a great movie experience though. Any movie that I will enjoy watching more than once is a must buy for me. Recommended.

A little too over the top, story hard to believe!

Don't get me wrong! I like Sandra and the movie was suppose to have gotten rave reviews, but it was just too far fetched. If she was an extremely experienced astronaut possibly, but one whom couldn't get her act together just to replace a panel can now read Russian, Chinese and American tech manuals, push all the right buttons- at the right time was just too far over the top. The movie was entertaining in visuals. This is just "my " opinion.

If you want to get the most out of your new 3D compatible tv, this is a great movie to watch and experience! You'll find yourself attempting to grab items floating off the screen (like nuts and bolts as Sandra Bullock attempts to repair something on the spacecraft). The over all visual effects are truly outstanding! The plot is excellent as well, putting an engineer in a life or death situation in outer space. An absolute must see!

Best DVD extras I've ever seen

Saw this movie at the theater so knew I wanted for my collection. The story is pretty straight forward, life's challenges & re-birth, but the special effects are outstanding. The DVD (BluRay) extras really focus in on all the effort it took to create the special effects so that they didn't seem to be special effects at all. Gravity should win some Oscars but not being a voting member I don't have much input or impact on the outcome.

We bought the standard DVD version of the movie Gravity. It was a good movie. The special effects (was nominated and/or won an Oscar for it) was the high point of the movie. Don't know how they did it. There was some coarse language interspersed through the movie, and some gruesome scenes when the astronauts died that aren't applicable for young eyes, but the science and background was captivating. Good price from Best Buy.

I loved this movie the first time i saw it, but in blu ray it feels much better. The audio and video quality of the blu ray presentation are outstanding. The best way to watch this movie is definitely in blu ray, and the fact that this is clearly one of the best movies ever made, makes the entire film experience much more pleasant. The film deserved every single one of the 7 Oscars it won. A must see for true cinema fans.

Started purchasing physical media again (Blu Rays) since I just installed a Dolby Atmos capable receiver I also purchased at Best Buy... Loved this movie when I first saw it and now when seeing the pristine pic coupled with an Atmos soundtrack it just adds to the experience. With Atmos, the sounds are placed exactly where the sound engineers want you to hear them and this movie is perfect for that.

I found this movie very intense from the beginning to the end. It surely keeps your attention span going. Sandra Bullock played such a good part in this movie,, actually lead part, I can understand why she was nominated for best actress. Can't wait to watch this movie again. It surely was worth the price I paid for it, which wasn't bad.

    "Space, the Final Frontier"

This movie really lends itself to 3D, I do not have a 3D tv but the blu-ray is still quite stunning. While this film did keep my interest and the cinematography was beautiful, the science behind how this would really happen was lacking and the overall plot was average. While I like Sandra Bullock, she does not make me believe she could ever be in space nor survive a re-entry back to earth. Not an Oscar winning film in my opinion.

"Gravity" is one of those movies where you will get something new out of it each time you watch it. Sandra Bullock gives an award-winning performance that gives so much emotion and depth to such a simple plot. The visual effects are the best I have ever seen. You feel as if you are in space with Sandra and that's without 3D! All in all, a great movie with a stunning actress in one of the best performances of her career.

So all the hype was that this movie was "Cast Away" in space. I don't really see it that way. It had very good acting and it drew you in from the start. I will caution that anyone who can't watch certain things spinning or who easily get dizzy, this film could mess with you at times. I didn't watch the 3D version but I can imagine it would be much worse in 3D if motion/spinning cameras bother you. Other than that, a great film.

This movie is simply amazing. I've read a lot of negative reviews and am really surprised. I think one thing you have to go into the movie knowing is the movie is great because it is tense, great action, and has amazing visuals. Do not expect an intricate, twistful plot. The only negative for me is the movie is in widescreen format. For a movie that wants you to feel immersed in it, not utilizing the entire screen hurts that.

Everything you've been hearing from the critics and fans is true, folks. This extraordinary film has camerawork like you've never seen before, an edge-of-your-seat plot that never lets up, the best performance I've ever seen from Sandra Bullock, and an emotionally reewarding dramatic ambience. The only negative I can think of is how much will be lost on a smaller, 2D television. It looked devastating on my 55" 3D set.
