The Green Lantern, while entertaining with good tongue in cheek humor and entertaining, is geared toward the adolescent boy that cannot get enough super-hero films regardless of quality. The Green Lantern character is enjoyable and the special effects in the film are good. However, the story of the film essentially shows The Green Lantern saving the people of Earth from a danger that he himself brought to them.

I read unfavorable reviews of this when it was in theaters. They seem to be justified. Respectable cast (Ryan Reynolds, Mark Strong, Angela Basset) couldn't save it.

not good acting for the female lead, story is just so-so. predictable antagonist

I thought it was going to be better, not a major let down but wouldn't call it a favorite.

Cinematography was great. With better acting and plot, this could have been a great movie.

Love the movie. Dislike the Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy combo. You have to have Flixster to view Digital Copy. The means you have to have a Wi-Fi connection or 3G connection to view the movie. So if you're in a car trip with the family, you can't view the movie if you don't have a Hot-spot or 3G service. Even if you have a 3G service, those minutes are going to be eat up with the streaming through Flixster. So I recommend that you just buy the DVD or Blu-Ray and if you really need that copy on iPad or iPhone, just purchase through iTunes.

Ultraviolet is Warner Brothers new digital copy. It does not let you put it on your iphone or ipad. It will let you download it to your computer but thats it. The software is terrible. I had to delete and re install three times. Do not spend the extra money on digital copies anymore if they say "Ultraviolet" You will not be happy if you want to put it on your ipad or android tablet!

Since this is for the 3D version, let's start with that. It was mediocre at best. Nothing really pops off the screen but some scenes have a little depth to them.There is no reason to see this in 3D. The movie itself is pretty silly. I think a better actor could have been used for the main character.
