Upgraded to this from another 18 volts battery powered trimmer and I must say I am amazed. This trimmer is far superior with 80 volts of brushless beastly power. Unboxing and assembly were quick and easy. Trimmer itself comes separated in 2 pieces that click together easily. Then I just had to add on the handle and debris guard which was done with a few simple screws. Altogether unboxing and assembly took about 5 minutes tops. The model I got came with charger and 2 amp hour battery. The battery charges in less that an hour with the included charger and run time is about an hour as well. I have a little over half an acre yard with a lot of landscaping and trees and I've been able to do my entire yard twice on a single charge just to do it. In reality this would never be an issue as I typically mow/trim about every 10 days so obviously have time to through this on the charger in between uses. I will say the battery is pretty large in size, not all that heavy but it really balances the entire trimmer unit with its weight in the back. If you have other Greenworks products this should work with other 80 volt tools - it's important to note though that the different voltage tools have different battery configurations that ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. For example I also have a Greenworks push mower but it is 60 volts and therefor the 2 different size batteries can't be intermingled in the tools nor will the charges work on the different volt batteries. Usage: Weight: The unit is nicely balanced and hangs on the included shoulder strap perfectly! It's very lightweight and if you position the strap properly and at the correct level then you can walk around with this thing and barely tell it's there, seemingly weightless once I got it adjusted right - like I said I have over half an acre and I'm able to steamroll through all the trimming with minimal fatigue. Power: 80 volts of brushless beast is all I can say. Super powerful. I've never come across anything this doesn't just immediately tear through. Much stronger than my previous 18v battery powered trimmer and easily as powerful or stronger than any gas powered trimmer I've ever used. The trigger has 2 speeds to adjust for work load and battery conservation. I also must say I love the variable speed trigger action - it's not simply on/off like most other electric trimmers are - this is truly variable depending on how tightly you squeeze the trigger. Only one thing I don't like about the motor/drive on this is that there is no "brake" mechanism and the head just spins freely when you release power allowing it to come to a slow stop, which is usually ok, I just needed to get used to it. Construction feels quite solid and durable. I assume this unit will last forever but it's worth noting the hefty 4-year battery and 4-year tool warranties which I think is just a superb lengthy warranty for a piece of outdoor use equipment. Overall very pleased with this trimmer and would definitely recommend!!

I have about 2 acres and this battery pack is awesome for getting the job done. It is a little heavier but the shoulder strap helps when adjusted right.

Has a strap to help relieve the stress using it for long periods of time. It cuts great and I got a good deal by buying both.

Posted .Hello Avg928 - This product features our Load n' Go trimmer head. Any products featuring this head do not have replacement prewound spool as they are designed for quick reloads in seconds! Unit uses 0.095 inches line.
To Replace the excess line:
Push the tabs on the sides of the trimmer head at the same time.
2. Pull and remove the spool cover.
3. Remove any remaining line.
4. Clean dirt and debris from all parts. Replace spool if it is worn or damaged.
5. Align the spool tabs with the tab openings in the base of the spool.
6. Push the spool cover until it clicks into position.
Installing the cutting line: Do not put more than 15 feet of cutting line in at a time.
1. Remove the remaining cutting line on the spool.
2. Line up the slots on the spool cap with the slots on the trimmer head.
3. Put the cutting line through the hole. Push the cutting line until it exits the opposite hole.
4. Pull the cutting line through until there is an equal quantity of cutting line on each side.
5. Turn the spool cap clockwise to wind the cutting line into the trimmer head. Keep approximately 5 in of cutting line above out of each side of the trimmer head. Here's a video to a different model but the winding feature is the same:
