Thank you for sharing your experience with this 80V Combo Kit. We are happy to hear you like the the tools in the kit sad to hear you are unhappy with the battery charge and runtime. The difference between the amp hour (Ah) is runtime. The higher the Ah (amp hour) the more runtime a battery will provide. When the battery is used with the mower the battery cuts up to one-half acre or up to 45 minutes on a single charge. While this mower is capable of running on a single battery, it also comes equipped with two active battery ports, giving you the option to add a second battery for extended runtime. When using a fully charge 4Ah battery with the included trimmer, user can expect up to 15-20 minutes runtime, the actual run-time will vary depending on grass condition, species, density, moisture, and operator’s technique. Lastly users can expect up to 45 minutes of run-time with fully charged 4.0Ah battery (on low speed). Up to 21 minutes of run time with a fully charged 4.0h battery (on high). To extend your run time, try using the blower setting on a lower speed when high speed is not a requirement, as blowers are considered a high-power draw application which means they do tend to drain the battery quite rapidly in comparison to some other tools.
This combo kit comes with our 80v rapid charger to quickly charge the batteries between the use of the different tools. Users can expect up to the battery to charge from a discharge state approx. 45 - 60 minutes.

As batteries can be interchanged with tools in the same voltage platform, typically, Kits that include one battery for multiple products would be purchased by existing Greenworks customers who already have tools in that voltage and therefore have existing batteries to use with the machine. While the initial cost may seem to slightly exceed a gas product purchase (especially if the battery and charger are purchased separately), the long-term cost and time spent are much less when factoring in gas, maintenance, and more! One of the many benefits of the Greenworks 80V platform is the interchangeability of the batteries. If additional batteries are purchased in a combo pack (tool + battery) for another Greenworks 80V tool, you will have extra battery that would provide you with the additional run time. Alternatively, additional batteries can be purchased to extend the run time. This unit is compatible with 80V Greenworks batteries (only). Hi DanielpM. Thank you for your review. When using the self-propel function, this will drain more power from the battery as this setting requires more power from the motor. This will affect the runtimes. When using the batteries in the blower, the same applies. If you use a higher setting the battery will drain power quicker. Hello BigBumper - Thank you for your review. We are glad that you have ultimately been enjoying this product. We are sorry to hear that you are not fully satisfied with your current run time. It is important to recognize that the run time depends on the load acting against the unit and fluctuates depending on the height setting, the terrain, grass height, type of grass, whether you are mulching, operator technique, etc. - there are so many factors to consider. The harder the unit must work, the quicker the battery charge will drain. Similar to how the gas in a vehicle will deplete quicker when driving at higher speeds or carrying more weight.

Here are a few tips to extend your run time!
1) When cutting thick grass, reduce walking speed in order to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings.
2) Only mow 1/3 of the total grass length at a time - no more. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months.
3) Mow when the grass is dry. As this is an electric unit, mowing wet/damp grass is a safety issue. However, ensuring the grass is dry will also help the grass cut cleanly and discharge appropriately. Wet/damp grass carries more weight and will mostly stick to the blade/motor shaft and will not appropriately discharge or cut easily.
4) Make sure the battery is cool before use. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging.
5) Only use the self-propelled feature when needed. Self-propelled mowers do use more battery than standard push mowers as more power is being demanded from the battery to run the blades and the wheels.

The abrasion caused by soil, sand, grass clippings and other debris circulating at very high speeds underneath a cutting deck can wear any finish. This abrasive environment is considered normal and should not cause any operational issues. Be sure to clean the deck underneath of your mower after use and before storage. Do not spray water under the deck of the mower. For caked-on grass, use a scraper to get rid of the grass, and then you can use a damp cloth to wipe off and loose pieces. Finish by wiping with a dry cloth and spraying lightly with a silicone spray or lawnmower deck spray. It is recommended to wear heavy long pants, boots, and gloves. Avoid loose garments or jewelry that could get caught in moving parts of the blower's machine or its motor. This information can be found in the user’s manual.
