Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the Black/Blue Survivor All-Terrain iPad case's excellent protection and secure fit. Many appreciate its ease of use and the grippy feel, while some find the weight and lack of a screen protector to be drawbacks. The case's sturdiness is frequently praised, although opinions vary on the quality of the stand and the overall price.

    Best insurance for your investment.

Unlike other cases, this one includes screen protection. I put this case on my new iPad as soon as I took the tablet out of the box. I wanted the confidence of holding it with a good grip, and this bad boy does the trick. The salesman at the store advised me not to get, saying it was overkill. I'm happy I didn't listen to him. Can you really be too careful on a $600 investment? It is expensive and a little difficult to put on, but overall well worth it. Spend the $80, someday it might save you the price of a replacement iPad.

    Good Protection but Bulky

I have had it for two months and a 2 year old has dropped it twice from 2.5 feet. iPad is in good hands but I have a few gripes about it with some solutions. 1. It's BULKY, but it gets the job done. 2. Newton Rings are visible sometimes on the screen protector. You can temporarily remove them by squeezing the sides to separate the screen film from the glass. 3. Door of the Docking Port is not wide enough. iPad Camera Kit or Apple Digital AV Adapter cannot fit. Used a dremel to take off some plastic. 4. Stand not capable to have iPad stand in Portrait mode.

    Good product

First off, I have the new iPad I had no issues with the case fitting properly. It's quite snug actually. Looks great and the level of protection is second to none. Only issue importing through at the moment is the plastic screen on the case wants to stick to the the screen on the iPad, I do have a Zagg screen protector on the iPad but that may be the cause of the sticking since the Zagg screen protector isn't needed with the Griffen Survivor case. If I can prevent the screens from sticking then I will bump my review up to 5 stars instead of 4.

I don't know why some people have a problem with this case. It's absolutely perfect for the protection of something as expensive as an iPad. I don't think it adds too much weight...and what it does add makes it feel less breakable. It has a great soft feel that is also really easy to grip, and it fits the iPad like a glove. As a teacher who uses the iPad as a teaching tool, I am comfortable allowing my students handle it in this case. Well worth the money for the peace of mind. I also happen to like the rugged look!

Great Cover - Major Issue for 3rd Generation IPad

No need to rehash the strengths and and weaknesses of the Griffin Survivor Case. It's a quality product with one major flaw for the IPad 3rd generation. The screen protector offsets the wonderful imaging qualities of the new IPad. This is a quote from a reviewer on another web site commenting on a competing product. However, this is a fine summation of the same characteristics I see of the Griffin Survivor Case. "The screen protector that is built into the Defender (substituting Griffin Survivor) case is hazy and creates pinpoints of light and distortions making the viewing of the new retina display on the new iPAD a very unpleasant experience. The problems with the screen are most evident when you have a white background such as when viewing email or reading a book on the iPAD." This is exactly my experience with the Survivor screen protector. I love the protection the product provides, but my choices are to either cut out the screen cover, use it in conjunction with another screen protector or return the product. IMO, if you use the screen cover on the Survivor, you may as well save a $100 and buy the IPad 2 as the cover negates the wonderful display of the new IPad.

Very difficult to open the case and could not get it to fit properly on the iPad. I returned this item and went back to my old otter box case.

Just what I was looking for

I purchased this case because I wanted something rugged enough to protect my iPad at work. I have been extremely satisfied. The case does add some weight, but that doesn't bother me at all. The tabs can be a pain in the behind, but it's tolerable. The stand is worthless to me, and so was the clear cover. I took a tip from a previous review, and removed the clear cover altogether, keeping my Invisible Shield on instead. It does hurt the waterproof-ish nature of the product, but again, I'm not in that type of environment, so it doesn't bother me. I was happy to see to Pink color back in stock recently, and plan on buying that one as well, using the Black as a back-up.

I was not impressed. This product made the IPAD impossible to use when wrapped around IPAD. Very disappointing. Fix it or pull from sale.

I really like this case. It feels rugged the texture of the rubber makes it easy to hold on to. It is a bit heavy, but I like that. It is pricey, but I bought it to protect my iPad 2 and it does just that. The only thing I don't like about it is how dust, lint, animal hair all stick to the rubber outer. At least it's not getting on my iPad so I guess its a fair trade off.

    Great for kids

We bought an iPad for the whole family to share for Christmas. Knowing that 3 kids under age 5 would be the primary users, we immediately bought this case. So after about a month of constant use/abuse, the iPad is still going strong thanks to this case. It fits snugly and securely. I know some people stated that it covers certain camera features and the stand is flimsy, but we don't really use/need those features anyway. So, it hasn't been a problem for us.

Great design and protection but prefer the Otterbox Defender more in terms of quality of material used. A bit bulky compared to the competition but like the overall quality and fit. Would buy again.

Amazing protection for the new iPad

I wanted a protective case for my iPad that would help reduce chance of screen cracking, breakage while also allowing me to use it outdoors without fear of scratches, dirt, etc. This case is awesome. There are flaps that protect the back camera lense, speakers. You just lift them to use or push them into place for protective mode. It also has a hard clear screen protector with no visual interference. There is a piece in the back that flips to use as a stand. It's functional but not sure it's the best. Lastly, it does make the iPad noticeably heavier which in some ways makes it easier to grip while making it a bit cumbersome. Overall it's an excellent case for outdoor and indoor use.

I have a son with autism and he is hard on everything. I bought the iPad mini for him a couple years ago and bought this case on the same day. I was so glad I did. The iPad gets tossed and dropped almost daily. It has accidentally made it into the bathtub 3 times and buried in the sandbox twice. iPad still works good. This product has been amazing. I'm not saying it's waterproof or indestructible but it has protected our iPad mini very well. I don't usually write reviews but this product has worked so well I can't help but try to promote it. If there are any parents out there with special needs kids, you will find value in this product.

Great Case for Parents with Small Children

I bought this case knowing that my 2 year old son was going to want to play games on it as he does my phone... no matter how much electronics get put away, kids always seem to find them and play with them. With this case I don't have to hide my iPad at all. This case protects against sticky fingers, crumbs and more. We have been able to take advantage of many of the learning apps and fun games, and my iPad still looks brand new underneath. This case covers all sides (completely covers the front) and really protects your tablet. For travel, I can take it as is, slide it in my bag and go without worrying about the front being scratched or the sides being bumped. I wish it had been a little cheaper in price but I still think it was worth it.

A must have for the iPad

We purchased an iPad for our son as a graduation gift from 8th grade for him to use in high school but were leery about spending that much without some protection. We opted for this case instead of the extended insurance, and now, three years later, will only buy this brand for other tablets. It is very durable and has been saved from several drops. Also, the case itself show no scratches or wear and tear. Small items (small covers for the speaker and camera for instance) are easy to lose, but not necessary. Best benefit is how large it makes it. Easy to hold and hard to lose. Worst feature is only an issue if you want to remove it. It is practically impossible even with assistance from muscle, but it does its job so really no need to remove it!

Great Protection for Your iPad 3

    Posted .

This is a great item that works as advertised, I took my new iPad 3 to Peru for 10 days protected by the Survivor case and could not be happier with it. The case not only does what they advertise it to do, but also makes the iPad much easier to hold due to the silicone parts of the case. My intention was to remove the case once we returned but I liked it so much I have just left it on. My only criticism is that the installation instructions are inside the 3 piece Survivor (comes already assembled) so to get the instructions on how to put it on your iPad you have to get it apart without any instructions and without damaging it. Best Buy- this may be why so many at my local store were returned.

The good: Very durable case... great fit too. This is a good case for children. In addition to sealing out water/dirt, the plastic case adds protection from an accidental drop. The bad: It's a tank. It's very heavy. It no longer feels like an iPad... it feels like a 12" piece of 4 x 6 lumber. It also doesn't have a cover that you open, like most other cases... but it technically doesn't need it because the case come with a clear plastic cover for the screen. Bottom line: I ended up returning mine because it was so heavy. However, definitely worth a look if you want a durable protective case for your kids.
