    I'm satisfied!

I just got this case and I love it. I have been looking for a case for my iPad that provides more protection and I'm glad I went with this one. Of the high protection cases this was okay as far as price. These cases cost so much but I guess it is worth it to protect a $500 device. At $87 after tax, I will be happy with this in the long run. The Otterbox is good but cost more and doesn't have as much rubber protection. I work in an elementary school with kids on the Autism spectrum and I have no worries about letting them play with the iPad when it is in this case. I also know I wil be taking my iPad more places because I won't be worried about something happening to it. I love how all the ports are covered and that I can uncover them when I need to. The screen shield is also great. Some people say that it causes a delay in the touch screen functions but I have not experienced that. I play Tiger Woods PGA golf on my iPad all the time and have no problems with the swiping and sliding I do to make the players hit the ball. Overall, I am very happy with this case and am looking forward to getting more use out of it. If it was about $30 less and weighed half the weight it would be absolutely perfect, but for what it is, I love it.

Given the Ipad2 is my first Ipad I wanted to ensure it had the ultimate in protection available. I initially wanted the Targus leather bound case, but opted for the Griffin Survivor instead due to its toughness and durability. Pros: Bulk\Weight: Most consider this a negative, but I like the bulk and weight it adds to the Ipad. Stock, it feels to breakable to be honest. The case adds a nice solid feel to it. Protection: (Liquids and Dust) I like the fact this case is a self contained unit. It will ensure any liquids or dust that find their way onto the Ipad won't hurt it in any way. I use the Monster Screen Protection liquid and cloth to wipe her down, and it does a decent job. Cons: Fitment - Ok, Although I love the design and the overall aesthetics and protection this case provides, it doesn't quite fit 100% correctly. A small portion of the side, front lip curls up a bit, forcing me to push it down to no avail. I'll eventually take it off and re-apply again just in case it was how it was applied in the store. Ports: The power port is actually rather stiff and opens well for charging. The camera port however still needs to be held back to utilize the back camera. I don't have the VGA Camera Kit or any other accessories yet, so I can't comment on those. Buttons: I know this is likely due to this being my first Ipad and still getting the lay of the land, but I find it difficult to locate the rockers under the rubber of the case. I'm sure it's merely a matter of time and exposure to the unit, but a light template outlining where the buttons\toggles\rockers exist would have been helpful for newer users. Stand: The landscape stand is structurally sound and does its job, so I hate to list this in the "Cons" portion, but frankly they should have thought ahead and found a way to work a portrait option in addition to the landscape view. Overall: I really, really like this case. Yes it was expensive. Yes it's not entirely perfect, but it comes very close. Overall I would recommend this case to any who wants the ultimate in shock\liquid\dust protection for their Ipad investment.

Ultimate protection for a premium price

I started with a more minimalistic leather portfolio style cover on my iPad 2, but when the iPad fell off of a shelf from only a couple of feet the corners of the screen cracked. I decided it was time to get a case that did a better job of protecting the iPad and I found great reviews on the Griffin Survivor and decided to give it a try. I probably would not have bought this case (or any case) at the full retail price of $70-80, but it was on sale for $49 at Best Buy and I had rewards credits that I used so I only ended up paying about $30 out of pocket. If ultimate protection for your Ipad is what you are after, I highly recommend this case. Just keep in mind that this case does add a considerable amount of bulk and weight to your iPad. Also, the cover for the mic pops out quite often and the cover for the charging port is a bit flimsy and there are many reports of this piece wearing out over time.

i feel the case is very solid; while the case does add some weight to the ipad you feel it is truely protected (haven't put it to the test yet). the sales people are always friendly and helpful.

After an exhausting night at work, I was placing my belongings in my car, but had placed my iPad on the roof of the car while I searched for something I had misplaced. Long story short, I left the iPad on the roof of the car, which is protected by the Griffin case. At approximately 30+ mph, I heard a clunk and realized I had forgot my iPad on the car. To my surprise, the iPad was fine, and the case had little noticeable damage. I would highly recommend this case for its perfection, durability, and appealing look.

    It PROTECTS

The main reason I selected this was for protection. Protect, it does. But here's the downs, the flaps on the back which cover the camera and speaker, don't stay in the open position. There are built in slots for it to hold open, but it keeps closing. Also, the plastic screen protector doesn't work well with my additional iPad 2 screen protector. They stick together. But I would buy this again, and also buy an additional screen protector again.

    Worth the money

Solid quality, the case snaps around the ipad securely and has the outside rubber layer for shock absorbtion. The built in screen protector doesnt prevent the responsiveness of the touch screen and everything just feels more secure. a couple of cons: 1, the stand when used in a more upright position wobbles ALOT, not a huge con but for some i know it would drive people crazy. The second con is while all the ports are covered, the covers can be a bit of a pain to remove. I guess if i had any sort of finger nails it wouldnt be so bad. Lastly, (you may or may not consider this a con) the case does add a significant amount of weight but i much prefer the weight as i dont feel the unit is so flimsy. Other than that, this case is awesome.

It's the "otter box" of iPad cases

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This case is well worth the $$$ to protect your expensive iPads. It does add some bulkiness and weight to the iPad, but for me, a fair trade to know my iPad is secure. On the downside, the ports are all protected with"flaps" that seal tightly and as a result can be frustratingly difficult to open. Also, the pre-fabricated notches that are supposed to hold the flaps open don't really work. This is frustrating when trying to take photos and also causes distortion from the onboard speaker.

Everything is great. It fit nicely around the iPad and feels very sturdy. There are only two things that are not up to standard. 1. The rubber on the edge of the stand ripped and does not work as well in the upright position. 2. The piece if rubber that covers the charging port just ripped off. I have had it case for just about a week so far. It's a good case but there some flaws that need to be addressed quickly.

Without this case my iPad2 feels like fine china in the hands, with the survivor case, it has a much better feel, easier to hold, etc. Occasionally the flip out stand needs a little extra prying to flip out. Other than that, completeley satisfied with the purchase.

I just purchased the ipad2 and I needed some protection from the elements. This case I saw on the Internet and went to the store to research in person. I love the case it covers everything nicely. I have yet to put the case through anything yet. I think if your looking for security and peace of mind while adding some weight this is the case. The screen protector smudges easily but other than that no real problems and the rubber flaps don't completely stay open. I wish it had a little holder for a stylus.

Love the way the case feels in the hand. I have complete confidence my iPad is fully protected. I like the built in stand, as well. However, the legs on the stand stick and are hard to open. They're also pretty small and slightly unsturdy when the iPad is standing on them. That is my ONLY complaint about this case. Otherwise, I'd give this case 5 stars. I've had many comments from friends and family about how well this case is built. I have no doubt that if I drop my iPad during regular use, there will be no consequences. Highly recommend this case!

I will never regret choosing this case over the otter box. I read a review about the survivor that finalized my decision to purchase this. A man and his iPad had a motorcycle accident and it survived without any damage. This spoke volumes to me. I have an autistic child of 4 and purchased the iPad solely for her communication and disabilities. She has done everything from dropping it, small spills, and even stood on it (40lbs.). The iPad is still as good as the day we bought it. It is kind of heavy but my 4yr old will carry it all day everyday with no problems. It no longer has the light weight feeling it initially had without the case. Great product and highly recommend.

We bought this because our 5 yr old has been using more and more for school and educational apps. Our 7 month old is getting into it as well, and the slobber proof case is great. Overall, worth it. One negative ... the openings for the speakers and camera are tough to open, but then again, that is probably a good thing! And the stand is weak. My overall review ... get it, it's worth it.

Does everything I need it too. I work in construction and need to have my iPad2 well protected and this fits the bill. Even got spilled on the front once and didn't allow liquid into case. Appreciate the stand- it is hidden, but if I need to show a client pictures of our folio I can tilt it up on a table and leave it there. I have a Zagg Shield on my iPad, and it works perfectly with the case, but looks blotchy. Won't remove the Zag Shield, but I imagine that the screen would be perfect without that in the way :)

an OK case that can be a pain

My wife has had this case on here iPad2 for about a year now and it protects it great from drops like down a flight of stairs from my daughter at least 2 times. About every other month my wife takes the case off because everything gets under the screen protector(etc: dog hair, dirt and some how food crumbs). All the cover flaps(camera, speaker, mic) are just a pain. every-time you want to take a pic you have to hold the flap open, or if you are using skype you have to hold the mic and speaker covers open so you can hear and be heard good. Don't get me wrong it is great to have that protection, but it would be better if it was just clear plastic covers or some type of hinge point to open and lock it back out of the way.

    Best case for protection

I've tried several cases. My first case was a folio case by rocketfish, my daughter walked in the front door and the ipad slipped out of her hands and hit the hard floor on the corner and bounced over to the other corner - shattered the glass. Apple replaced the glass for $275. Then I bought a otter box but I hated that one. The rubber around it, particularly near the home button, didn't stay in place and while it provided protection to the ipad tucked inside, the case itself took a lot of wear and after one week I returned it as well. But the survivor case is awesome. The rubber around it stays in place and the structure offers very good protection against falls, etc. I wasn't sure I was going to like the screen protector. I was worried that it would hinder touches. But once installed you can't even tell its there. I have this case on my 6yr old's ipad and I no longer worry about it. It's def worth the money.

I have only had my case for less than 24 hours but I absolutely love it. Sure allot or the ports are covered but that is for the protection, if you want you can cut them off easily if it bothers you. The only drawback to it is the stand, it is not the greatest. However, on YouTube you can make a case easily for it which I plan on doing soon. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants protection for their investment. Even though it was a little pricey I feel it is well worth the money. They say you get what you pay for and I do agree in this instance. Definitely must buy!

I am very happy that I purchased this with my IPad. I am a clumsy person and I knew at some point myself or my kids would drop it, and we did thankfully to my survivor case it bounced and was fine. I got caught in the rain one day, and because of the cover the IPad was completely dry and unharmed. It does make heavy, but it is worth the extra weight for the peace of mind it brings me.
