Awesome movie for the family which marvel is always ahead of the game

Based upon a comic book that was considered risky at best, there was some trepidation when Disney / Marvel announced Guardians Of The Galaxy as their next feature film project. Some even thought this might signal the start of a downward spiral for the Marvel film franchise. And then the film opened, and everyone was taken by surprise. Marvel films have long been known for a sly comic touch that helps to accent the action of their various superhero movies, but here the comedy takes center stage, and it works beautifully. Taking us by surprise, with a nod and a wink, the story of these off beat heroes is both amusing and engaging. Likewise the music is an integral part of the whole and works well at setting the mood for the wry comedy. If you have not seen Volume 1 then you are in for a treat. The video quality in HD is excellent as is the sound. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.1 will be a welcome addition to your video collection.

First off, let me just say that this movie appears to be great for all ages...not true!! There is a fair amount of language that is not suitable for young children. There's your warning.... I am not familiar with story of the Guardians from the comic book, but I avidly read X-men, Wolverine, etc. as a teen, and am a huge fan of the Marvel movies. This did not disappoint!! The story was interesting and somewhat follows the epic story of the Infinity Gauntlet (or rather its origins), the characters are super-likable, it has a good amount of humor, and the ending is great. Let's be honest...many for these wannabe critics review things of this nature expecting some sort of cinematic masterpiece. Why?!?!? It's a movie...based.on.a.comic.book. It's not gonna win any oscars. It's pure mindless entertainment. I don't watch X-men and expect "The King's Speech" ok?!... So yes, this movie delivers if you are a fan of the sort (which I am). If you are like me then you will LOVE Guardians of the Galaxy. Thanks for reading.
