Brash space adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himself the quarry of relentless bounty hunters after he steals an orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain. To evade Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with four disparate misfits. I didn't know anything about this superhero team until disney decided to make a movie about them. It was a fun and exciting movie to watch.

Guardians of the Galaxy is hands-down one of the best Marvel films to date. Great acting, soundtrack, and effects. Loved Groot, and Christ Pratt is the perfect Star Lord. All the other actors were fantastic as well, especially Zoe Saldana as the hardened-turned-soft warrioress Gamora. The action is intense, the jokes are hilarious, and the visuals are so breathtakingly vivid and detailed. You can definitely tell a lot of time and dedication was put into this movie, and you're sure to enjoy it time and time again.

The unique steelbook display case offered by Best Buy is an ingenious play on the movie--the sturdy case is built like a tape deck. The case itself is sturdy, (steelbook, duh!), slim to place on a movie shelf, and contains the same content as found in the "normal" 3d-movie blu-ray set. The movie is great and casing is fun. The only "negative" is that the title of the movie is not displayed along the side (so, if you put into a movie shelf, you can't simply read the title of the movie). Big thumbs up, otherwise!

Do you hate comic book superhero movies? Are you bothered by action movies with no deep, meaningful, elaborate storyline? Do you feel fight scenes, explosions, spaceships, aliens, and disabled beings detract from your movie viewing experience? Are you afraid of smart, talking, bipedal raccoons and sentient tree-people? If you answered Yes to any of the above questions, this movie is probably not for you, but you should still pick it up. Everyone else, if you don't already have this movie, you need to get it.

Of all the Marvel cinematic experiences of the last decade, GUARDIANS of the GALAXY is likely the most satisfying if for no other reason than low expectations. Taken from a little known comic, this unique team of space heroes brings back the magic and fun and hipness that was once reserved for the original Star Wars films. It is impossible to get through this movie without a smile on your face. And the 3D version is simple stunning. Do yourself a favorite: take the ride!

This is a fun movie to watch, very lighthearted. The kind you can watch over and over. (We did.) There is some vulgar language and the hero is a young male, so a little innuendo. There is violence, yes, watch out. But 12 yrs and up should be used to this level, if they watch movies much. The sound track is fun: pop and rock songs from the 1980's, and that's very enjoyable. We even bought the sound track CD to listen to in the car. Highly recommend this fun movie!

Looking forward to watching this at home! Saw the movie in the theater.

Guardians is proof in the pudding that if you can make a movie fun, you don't have to have any realism at all to enjoy it. Great music, silly plot and a terrible bland villan, yes, it is all true. The mindless masses enjoy this kind of stuff and if you turn your mind to idle and ignore the numerous "movie over" moments, you too, can have fun watching this as well. By the way, hold out ZERO hope for the steelbook as BestBuy never, ever orders enough of them to last 5 minutes after the store opens on day one.

Great movie. It is fun to watch at home like it was in the theater. My only complaint is the formats it is sold under. This is more a statement to packaging that the product itself. It comes in DVD,BD, or BD-3D formats. For whatever reason it does not come in DVD-BD like many/most other new releases do. That said, I am glad that BD only is a choice and there may be a time when only BD or 3D players are sold since the price has dropped since the BD conception. When gift giving it is nice to have a choice.

Marvel pulled this off with guardians. Action and comedy was a good blend. This is definitely in my top 5 in the franchise. A great step up from the bluray and the Dolby vision and hdr adds a pop to the 4K details. Audio in Dolby atmos is a little soft so you will have to turn it up more than normal. A must have ! The 3d bluray is awesome to if you have any 3d devices.

This movie surprised a lot of people, me included. It took a relative B list comic book hero group and made a fantastic movie, thanks mainly to acting and story arc. This is not your typical comic book based movie with a complicated backstory and confusing story line. It is more of a comedy then anything, every character has hilarious moments and you forget that you are watching an exciting action movie also. Chris Pratt steals the show but Dave Bautista is great! One of the best movies of 2014 for sure.

I'm not really a superhero/sci-fi movie kind of guy and I've been losing interest of this genre more since the release of the recent Transformers and Avenger movies. I went to this movie with very little expectation especially after seeing the unexciting trailer for it. But this movie totally blew me away! The soundtrack, special effects, casting, acting and the comedy were just perfect that I knew this is one movie I have to recommend to people like me and that I'll enjoy re-watching over and over again.

Guardians of the Galaxy is an example of how a director with a vision and a cast which has actual chemistry can make movies FUN! James Gunn and Nicole Perlman's script comes across as smart and witty without being weighed down by what passes for movie comedy. The match of the movie to its source material - especially Knowhere - is fantastic, yet has the weight of realism. And the cast don't bounce lines off each other, you really feel like there are conversations going on. The action is very cool as well.

This is another great Steelbook exclusive from Best Buy and Marvel. However, Best Buy has to increase their inventory of these and put a "2 copies per guest " limit on them. These are all getting bought up by scalpers to sell on eBay and preventing people who really want it from getting one

I am not a comic expert, but have enjoyed my share of them. But here, Marvel has almost outdone themselves. Just when you thought Spiderman, Hulk, and Avengers were going to rule their universe, they pulled all the talented and genius staff into making the most unlikely of all their works. A top 10 movie in my book, why? Too numerous to list, but my top 5 reasons: pulling off the seemingly impossible, great casting, well executed dialog, clear plot and character development. A must for the Marvel fan.

By now, most have seen GOTG and loved it. If you haven't, you should, the mix of comic book action and fantastic sci-fi adventure is great but the humor, the rock score and more make it a classic. Throw in a star-making performance by Chris Pratt and the fun of Groot and even if you're not a Marvel fan, you'll love how this plays out. The extras are good with a commentary by James Gunn and features on the making of the film. Overall, one of the best Marvel films yet and a must-have for any sci-fi buff.

Love this movie Chris Pratt is historically funny in this movie.
