Guardians of the Galaxy ended up being a gargantuan hit even with such an out of the world concept and it's very easy to see why. Plenty of fun, effects, interesting characters and heart made this film a hit. Best Buy has put out an exclusive steelbook version that includes both a 2D and 3D disc (and the 3D is some of the best Marvel has put out yet). In keeping with the film's playfulness, the steelbook is designed with a throwback to old walkmans and I love the retro vibe it has. Although the OCD in all of us may cringe that there isn't the films title on the spine, it's hard not to smile at the rewind, play and fast forward buttons that are on it.

Well not much to write about this movie that you do not already know. This blu Ray disc is great the transfer to blu Ray is lossless 3D docs contains the iMaX version of the film. sound well I wished for an atmos track and got a 7.1 DTS HD track sounds great and is loseless but now that atmos is at home and given this movie being a benchmark for home entertainment and in theaters having an amazing atmos sound makes me wonder why not include this since other blockbusters have it ( transformers 4 ) and non blockbusters like expendables 3 and step up. Packing is great steel case of peters cassette tape is a nice touch. Enjoy everyone until part 2

I couldn't be more blunt about my reactions towards this film, other than by stating that this is by far the best Marvel film to date. With a host of excellent characters driven by their skills in comedy, drama and an outstanding sense realism (in a fantasy world), Guardians pleases every age group and genre. There is action, comedy, drama and a side of romance that make it fun for every type of person. Which is exactly why the box office numbers were record setting and exactly why this movie is STILL in theaters. Get this movie now and add it to your collection o excellent films regardless if you like super heroes and comic books, or not.

I'll make two different points, one about the movie and the other about the product: As a movie, it's great. If you like super hero films, you'll love it, but even if you don't it has a lot of appeal to a wide range of people. And the soundtrack is just awesome. I went into it with mixed expectations, but was amazed with what Marvel did. As a product, this is basically the kitchen-sink version of the movie. I don't care much about the 3D either way. I like the digital copy, and with Disney's system that lets you download and play it on a wide variety of devices (rather than just basic iTunes or whatever support), that works well for me.

I continue to be amazed by Marvel Studios ability to take their lesser characters and develop these great movies around them. When this film was announced, I decided it would be the first Marvel movie that I wouldn't see. A space movie about a homicidal Raccoon and a walking tree, I'll pass. Then I saw the previews and I thought this movie will either be great or it will be horrible. I was still leaning towards horrible. The reviews were so good when it came out in theaters that I decided to go see it. My wife, who is not really a big fan of superheroes or comic books went with me. We had a great time and we both loved the movie.

So while some neckbeard critics will call this a travesty, honestly, its one of the best Marvel movies we have seen. Maybe they aren't characters widely known in the Marvel universe to people who aren't a fan of comics, but I think anyone who saw this can agree it was nothing but entertaining. Mind you, yes, it does interfere with some canonical lore, but thats not why we're here. this was an incredible movie. I almost took off a star for lack of interesting content on the Blu Ray, but honestly, I rarely even look at that stuff anyways, unless it real gold like alternate endings and extended scenes or a gag reel. GET IT ALREADY!!

Guardians of the Galaxy is a very entertaining movie. When you think of the Marvel superheroes you think of Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, etc but the marvel universe is full of other not so mainstream heroes. Guardians of the Galaxy is about a group of those relatively unknown heroes that come together to defend a planet from a very powerful villain. The story is very well put together and the characters are so lovable that these once obscure characters: Starlord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot are now right up there with the other popular marvel heroes. There are a lot of 80s pop culture references and don't forget the end credit scene!

As a fan of these characters long before the movie came out, I have to say that this movie was amazing! It's Marvel's take on a space/sci-fi epic. And that's excatly what it was, EPIC! That characters, while odd at 1st, are enjoyable and you find yourself caring for them right away. You might wonder how you could believe in a talking raccoon and a tree man, but just remember, this is space. Anything can happen. But seriously, it's enjoyable. I have watched and rewatched the movie over and over. The special features are great and there's a hilarious gag reel. Don't miss out on that! Stop reading this review and buy this movie!

I wasn't too sure if my son was going to like this or not because he really isn't into super hero's too much, but he absolutely loved this movie! Groot and Rocket are his favorite characters in this movie and had him laughing really hard in a lot of scenes! I was finding myself really into this movie and couldn't pull myself away from it long enough to even put in a load of laundry! Bottom line, if you haven't seen it, DO! You won't regret purchasing it! My husband and I have found ourselves watching it several times even without the kids! We love it so much we are quoting several lines from it! We love it, and so will you!

This is a solid film, probably the best and most fun movie of the year. The only way it could possibly get better was if the Blu_ray was at the best price point possible. Along comes Best Buy to take care of that. 19.99 for the beautiful 3D Bu-Ray transfer and I am SOLD!! Best Buy always comes through with great price points, exceptional service and who doesn't appreciate reward zone points? This is a perfectly cast fun film full of humor, action and amazing visuals. Do you like sci-fi films? Action films? Super-hero films? Comedy? Fun for the entire family? This movie is all that and more and I cannot wait for the sequel!

Guardians of the Galaxy is the 10th film in Marvel Studios successful cinematic universe. Many considered this film to be Marvels first "flop" if you will. Boy were they wrong. Bringing color back into sci-fi, the film moves at a brisk pace with engaging characters an amazing visuals. The Blu-ray has a bit more than the previous Marvel releases which is nice, but still no One Shot short film. One of my personal favorite films of 2014. Guardians of the Galaxy probably stands on its own the most out of all the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies dating back to 2008's Iron Man. A must for fans of sci-fi and comic books alike.

Please make sure bestbuy gets enough inventory to satisfy all the customers I had to drive out of my way to three different bestbuy cause I was givin the wrong info over the phone about how many movies they had in stock I'm very annoyed that I had to do that also that day was very bad weather out also I wasn't able to make the Purchase of pick up on the website so I didn't have to go out that day in the bad weather

I bought this DVD for my brother for his birthday. He loved it! I also want to thank Best Buy for looking into the price of the movie for me. When I went to purchase the movie at Best Buy, on the website the movie was priced $9.99, but in the store it was priced $19.99. So I showed the store associate the price on the website on my phone and they did a price adjustment for me! So I ended up getting the DVD for $10 and some change. Amazing! Thanks best Buy., you have a loyal shopper for life!

This is a review for the packaging and special features only. The steelbook package is great. It is modeled after Star Lord's walkman which is awesome. The only thing I dislike about the packaging is that the spine of the case has "buttons" on it to look like what would actually be on a walkman. Some might like this but I would have preferred for the movie title to be there somewhere for when I have it on the shelf with my other Blu-Rays. Obviously not a deal breaker by any means. Special features are top notch! Director James Gunn took a lot of time to make this one of the best total film experiences available.

I rerally enjoyed viewing this Marvel movie. Unlike so many of the previous Marvel movies that focused on one individual, this one galvanized an unlikely group of individuals with very different characteristics. I think it was easier for the audience to relate to some of the issues the characters had experienced or gone through in their own personal life. The movie doesnt take itself too serious, nor does the lead character, Peter Quill, which lends itself to the lightheartedness of the movie. None the less, you are taken on a wild, magical ride, with a sidekick of humor. Totally enjoyable for the whole family.

A very entertaining film that started as a comic strip and is now on the big screen. Excellent.

A triumphant new step into a great looking new series, watch out Avengers. I loved it actually, I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. A genuine blast of non-stop fun from start to finish. An exciting, energetic, stylish and wickedly funny entertainment. A spectacular joy-ride you cannot get enough of. An instant classic. It's loaded with action, comedy, special effects and a very big heart. A heartfelt, moving, thrilling and utterly exhilarating action-adventure that is a visual feast for the eyes and ears that just blows you away. Marvel has stepped their game with another new and brilliant addition to their series of adventures. It's filled with gorgeous special effects that just capture your eyes and a story and characters that just grab your heart. The cast is just wonderful to watch. Chris Pratt is sensational. Zoe Saldana is terrific. David Bautista is actually really great and totally embraces the madness and heart of his character. Bradley Cooper steals the show as Rocket with his over the top humor and great charm. Vin Diesel is wonderful as Groot, even that he just has three lines you can feel the embrace of his motion captured performance. These five are totally the dream team to route for. Isn't anything else but a great time.

Continuing the steelbook trend for the Marvel Universe Phase 2 home video releases, the Guardians of the Galaxy steelbook is the best of all. Appropriately stylized as the titular character's cassette tape, it is offbeat from the other releases that feature an iconic pose of the title character and is appropriately so considering the tone and difference from this film and past Phase 2 releases. It also displays well with the movie's soundtrack which is also stylized. Packed with extras including commentary from James Gunn and a preview of Age of Ultron, this is the must have version of the movie of the year!

Undoubtedly the reigning champion of summer 2015. The campy space opera and cheesy 70's trope of science fiction coupled with James Gunn's brand of humor and touching moments went on to make this film an instant classic. This motley crew is really something to behold. The chemistry with which this roving band of misfit jailbirds makes for quirky interactions of the highest comedy. This movie just works. It could have done with a more compelling villain but I can't sing enough praises about this film. Between 70's space camp and an 80's soundtrack, this film had a lot riding on it and a lot going for it.

Guardians Of The Galaxy has got to be my favorite of the Marvel films to date. A big + when purchasing this version is the Free Digital copy code included. It sure makes lending out movies to friends and coworkers a lot less worrisome knowing even if they take awhile to return it to you, you still have the digital copy available for yourself. I don't have to be the bad guy anymore telling them "if you wana keep it so long, buy your own [Expletive Deleted] copy." P.S. Be prepared to have some awsome 70's Pop music stuck in your head after watching this movie.
