Another great film in the Marvel series introducing new characters to the cinematic world from their, somewhat obscure to the mainstream media, comicbook origins. Chris Pratt is hilarious as Star Lord/Peter Quill, but the stand our performances go to two on screen characters/off screen actors - Bradley Cooper as Rocket, and Vin Diesel as Groot. Whether you've seen the other films in the Marvel cinematic universe or watch it as a standalone film, it's a great and wildly entertaining story. Can't really find any failings for what the movie sets out to be. It's an Awesome Mix of what makes these films great.

Guardians of the Galaxy was more than I could have hoped for in a fiction movie. An entertaining story that first starts with some hardship, but has a light touching element that carries through all the great humor and acting and the awesome action scenes. The scenery, costumes, and special effects are very high quality and looked just as great on my 3D LED LCD HDTV as they did in the IMAX. And yes, the Guardians' story will eventually be tied into the overall arch as the other Marvel movies (minus Spider-Man). This movie was a great introduction to the characters and adaptation of the graphic novel.

I watched Guardians several times in theaters, so it was a given that I would buy the blu-ray when it was released. The movie is everything you expect from a Marvel film: humor, fully-realized characters, superior acting, edge-of-your-seat action, and astonishing special effects. You will believe a CGI tree and a raccoon are living creatures. I decided to buy the movie at Best Buy because of the steelbook packaging. It is cool and unique. It manages to be both sturdier than plastic packaging and more stylish. It is well worth the additional investment for a movie I know I will watch again and again.

I will not review the movie, but will make a comment on why the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray is better than watching the movie on a streaming service. The Blu-ray uses lower compression and a Wide Color Gamut (WCG). HD TV was designed in the 90s for CRT TVs and uses a limited color gamut. Movie theaters display movies that were recorded using the DCI-P3 color space (WCG). If you own a 4K TV that can display the DCI-P3 color space you will see a notable difference.

First, this blu ray set comes with a digital copy of the movie! Not that ultra violet humbug that you can only stream to specific players- it is a digital copy you can redeem in Itunes (or media player of your choice). Makes it worth the price for me, as I travel often for work and movies on my ipad keeps me sane. :) Also, blu ray and 3D blu ray are included, which is great depending on which blu ray set up you have. The only negative here is no Marvel one-shot movie-what on earth Marvel? Where's my one shot?? Great movie with hilarious commentary by the director, funny gag reel, and nice packaging.

I really enjoyed the movie and the steelbook case is a nice bonus. At first I was slightly disappointed that the steelbook didn't have the standard "poster shot" of the Guardians on the front, but after watching the movie, I totally appreciate this cover now. I liked that the set doesn't come with a DVD anymore (Sorry the families that do use DVDs in their vehicles/kids' rooms). Not going to ding the review any stars but just want to put this out there: It would've been nice if the cardboard wasn't attached to the steelbook with adhesive gum! It was a pain removing all that gunk from the steelbook.

We recently updated our entire home entertainment system to include Ultra HD 4K and 3D as well as immersive surround. This movie is a favorite because of the always impressive Marvel visual quality and the irreverent but kid-friendly humor specific to Guardians. The 3D in this movie was integrated flawlessly though, and for a new in-home 3D experience this has been by far my favorite title yet. Absolutely amazing visual quality and 3D that is both impressive and hilarious at several points. If you like this movie or 3D, this is a must-see title.

being unfamiliar with the Marvel storyline and not expecting much from main characters including a tree, a raccoon, a 'roid rager, a green alien hottie and the pot head dummy from Parks and Rec, I was very pleasantly surprised at how funny and entertaining this movie was. It had a good plot, good pace, good action, and didn't take itself seriously, because I think they must have known what they were working with when they bought the rights to this franchise. Even my wife liked it, who normally just tags along for comic book movies. She actually asked for it for Christmas, thus I obliged.

At first blush I had little to no interest in seeing Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy. Not in theaters and not before it was added to some streaming service like Netflix or showtime. So I had even less interest in purchasing the blu-ray at least until the reviews came in for this movie which were great and than my interest started to peak. Decided I'd still wait until the blu-ray release to see it and I regret doing so. I should've been seen this flick, I feel like Rob Lowe with cable. It's awesome!!! And bestbuy had a great price for it. If you action, comedy and/or comics you'll love it.

Another hit from Marvel Studios! And this one is just plain fun! Even if you have no idea who these comic book characters are, you are sure to enjoy this film if you love adventure, action and good writing. One of the things I love about Blu-Rays on my HDTV is when a modern film comes out on disc, the digital transfers look pristine! And this film is no exception. The audio and video quality are superb. The extras were quite enjoyable but I do wish there were more. This is fun film with exciting visuals, an engaging and fantastical story and a real heartbeat. I recommend you pick this up!

Loved this in IMAX 3D. I don't buy very many movies - only the ones worth seeing more than once. This one is a permanent, good-time drama-humor with so much going on you can't catch it all in one pass. If there is a sequel (and it looks like there will be) you can be all tuned up before you go (muhuhaha 'secret' ending). Maybe Groot will get a more complex dialog in the next one. Plus, there's the bonus 'Guide to the Galaxy', 'Intergalactic Visual Effects', 'Marvel's Avenger's Age of Ultron', and the ever popular 'Gag Reel.' Hilarious with cool effects and fun sci-fi to the max..

Lot's of "eye candy". It's great to see a good movie with tons of visual effects, and action scenes that keeps the viewer entertained and glued to the movie. The galactic scenes were stunning, and makes you wish that you were there along for the ride. The amount of humorous dialog was not overdone. The amount of action scenes fit the movie perfectly. But, many of those action scenes moved along a little too fast, too fast to absorb the great special effects. The amount of humorous dialog was not overdone. This movie absolutely surprised me....in a great way!! I thought when I heard Guardians of the Galaxy was coming out that it would be the first flop in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but I couldn't be more wrong. It's like a modern day Star Wars in the way that the movie was full of adventure. It takes you to places in the Marvel Universe that the "traditional" Marvel Hero movies wouldn't go, and for that I applaud this fantastic movie. There were many great guest appearances and names dropped that Marvel comics fans will absolutely love. I highly recommend this movie!!!

I love this movie. When it was announced, I was ecstatic and could not wait for it's release. We seriously have watched this move 200+ times because my twins love it and it's a movie that can be playing in the background while I get stuff done. I don't think I will ever get sick of it. We also get great use out of the digital copy through our VUDU account. I don't think I will ever buy another movie without the digital copy and am seriously thinking about foregoing all physical blu rays anyways. The digital copy is great and translates wonderfully on our 55" smart tv.

GotG shines in a saturated comic-based movie environment. Great characters and actors that breathe life into them make this more than just a great popcorn movie. The visuals are gorgeous and make the universe both believable and fantastic without coming off like a Star Wars prequel. An origin story for a set of new (to movie audiences) characters that doesn't fall prey to the same tropes common to many similar films and yet still covers enough of the backstories without bogging down the progress of the plot. Highly recommended to fans of the MCU and casual fans alike.

I love this film but when I first watched it reminded me of a game I played few years ago and started to again most recently. It kind of reminds me of Mass Effect in a good way. The film is beautifully done, didn’t think I’ll like this film first off but I’m a marvel fan. It’s one of my top five favorites, not to mention Drax is my favorite character

When this product came to stores on release I was surprised to learn there was a line and it was sold out at all the local stores. Sadly i wasn't expecting a line and also even before the store even opened. I have collected marvel best buy steel books since Thor 2 and to not have this one was unacceptable. Good news they had copys online a bit after Christmas. Not at the same 20 dollar price tag but if your desperate as I was its a no brainier. One last note, hopefully best buy will be more prepared for future marvel releases but next time I'm gonna pre order.

Blending an excellent soundtrack with an established comicbook crew, this action space adventure does not disappoint. The film is fast paced, full of a lot of action, questionable morals, and cool gadgets. The story and character development is fairly solid with a somewhat unbelievable but still enjoyable romance aspect (not to worry, intimacy is only ever implied and not actually on screen). There are some really cool cinematic effects, excellent and unique costume design, and of course some wacky personalities. Lots of re-watch value and over-all, very fun!

I'm not quite sure how Marvel keeps knocking it out of the park. They seem to have an uncanny ability for casting, story-writing, and directors. Like many I had no idea what GotG was about before the movie was announced; I was always an X-men fan first and foremost. (Which is probably why I haven't been that impressed with the Xmen movies tbh.) But this was a great ride, one that I'll be taking again and again. The music, the humor, the great performances by all involved, I can't say enough great things about this movie. If you haven't seen it, WHY NOT?!

A bold statement I'm sure, but I firmly believe it. The fact that the writers were able to take what is essentially one of Marvel's B-list hero teams and turn out a story that seamlessly melds with the established Marvel movie universe, but to make the characters instantly relateable and likeable, is no mean feat. Not only is the main cast likeable, so are the supporting cast and the villains. While some people may decry "blockbuster" movies, this defies the conventions and delivers a lot of great, imaginative action sequences, and heart to back it up
