I was able to get this during the buy 2 get 1 free sale while at the same time they were at a reduced price. The price for the 4k upgrade was too good to pass up. Whether or not it is worth the upgrade depends on your TV setup. The artwork on the steelbook is good and the issue of noting including the title on the side has been fixed. Now if they could just find a way to keep cardboard sleeve over the case to stay down.

Most people know by now that Guardians of the Galaxy is a great movie. The special features on the blu ray are fairly standard, nothing unusual or exceptional, but they are well done standard features. The gag reel is funny, James Gunn's director commentary is insightful and interesting, etc. I picked up the version with the Best Buy exclusive steelbook. The steelbook has the appearance of Star Lord's walkman with the "Awesome Mix Vol 1" cassette in it. I'm a sucker for that kind of collectors' edition stuff. Go buy it. It's awesome.

I am a comic book and movie geek. And I have loved the marvel movies but when guardians was announced, I was skeptical. And I could not have been more wrong. This is a fantastic movie. It is a fun to watch popcorn-blockbuster. It doesn't have the thought-provoking political implications of the Winter Soldier. But you don't always need that. Watch this movie for action, laughs, and some genuinely touching moments. And by the way the special effects are amazing and the soundtrack is perfect. Watch this movie and just enjoy the moment.

It's the story that no one would believe could make a great movie. Then the cast came together and it all just seemed to work. Thrilling adventure, witty and humorous dialog that doesn't lower itself to cheap jokes, and a storyline that makes you learn about these characters and then care about their journey - Guardians of the Galazy is a great movie. It starts up a new chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and I can't wait to see the rest of the story unfold. Plus, a great soundtrack wraps this movie up with memorable songs.

Not being that familiar with this branch of the Marvel Universe (a talking raccoon and a tree person? C'mon.), I didn't know what to expect when I saw this in the theatre. But after all the others (Ironman, Thor, Captain America, and of course The Avengers) I should have known this would be a slam dunk. Cool story, lots of humor (subtle and otherwise), and great characters (and by the way, Rocket and Groot-pulled off without a hitch). Just a terrific sci-fi/fantasy/action movie. And as always, open ended story line for Guardians 2.

If you had any concern over the goofiness of the original trailers and did not see this movie in the theaters, get this now! Nothing but fun. Steelbook was a nice bonus on sale; but I probably wouldn't pay the regular price for it since the regular blu-ray will still have 97% of the goodness at a lower cost. Note that the included digital code gives you a copy through Disney's digital service. It will also automatically give you the movie in iTunes/Flixster/VuDu, if you have those accounts linked to your Disney Digital HD account.

I bought it to add to my marvel movie collection especially in steelbook

Guardians of the Galaxy is a good movie for anyone looking for a good laugh.

With a shifting 2.40:1 / 1.78:1 aspect ratio, the 3d version on the disk stays true to the theater 3d version. I enjoyed watching it in 3d. The case itself looks amazing. When you open the steel book, the inside is printed to look like the inside of a cassette deck. Comes with Disney movie rewards and a Digital UV version as well. Great collectors Item!

I wasn't certain, when I saw this movie in the theater, that I was going to like it. In fact, when I saw the first preview for it, I thought it looked stupid. Then I saw it in the theater on the recommendation of a friend and was blown away. It was one of the first movies that I saw in 3D that awed me (since the novelty started with Avatar). It was aesthetically superb. The acting was really well done and the lines delivered with perfect comedic timing. The soundtrack is outstanding. This movie is a favorite in my house.

This movie was a huge risk for Marvel Studios to take. It was the first time they took a chance with characters unfamiliar to a lot of people. Now one of my favorite movies, Guardians is just fun, lots and lots of fun, plus it's also really cool, It has a talking Racoon who fires a huge rifle for crying out loud, that could have easily been stupid but ended up being one of the best parts of the movie.

I actually enjoyed this movie. When I watch a sci-fi movie I like lots of things blowing up, battles, fight sequences, and some good classic Marvel moments. All without each character having 20 minutes of depressing over-sensitive whining, or all the hot actors running around in their digitally enhanced underwear. You get enough to know what's going on and on with the movie. The soundtrack was a little over nostalgic, way too much 70's fluffy pop songs. Though it was better than what dominated the 70's - the dreaded disco!

I don't buy as nearly movies as I used to and when I do I usually look for a high replay value, as in could I watch this a few times a year and not be bored by it. This movies easily fits this criteria. This if one of the huge comic book adaptations to come to the big screen and if you like that sort of movie then this is a easy decision. Huge special effects, lots of actions, and a ton of silly yet very quotable lines make this movie a good addition to any collection. I would also label this movie "family friendly".

Took my kids to see this film, despite the MPAAs apprehensions and rating... It's was great. It was Star Wars with a real 70's soundtrack and some great comic gags. It culminated every reason why I love comic books, science fiction and music. I can only say thank you after watching this film. Thank you for reminding me of the fun I had as a kid. Thank you for bringing out that disenfranchised nerd in me. And thank you, for giving my kids a film every bit as good (maybe better) than the films I appreciated at their ages.

Should have bought it in 4K but it was good enough and saved a few dollars

I'm not generally a fan or the Marvel-class films - I enjoy them, but they're not typically worth adding to my collection. This one is - it's got action (of course), but also a lot of humor. There'a great cast who play unique characters, and the production itself is first-rate. There are surprises - this film isn't as formulaic as many sci-fi/fantasy outings. This is a movie you can watch over and over, and you'll see something new each time. Anyway - get it. You won't be disappointed.

Brash space adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himself the quarry of relentless bounty hunters after he steals an orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain. To evade Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with four disparate misfits. I didn't know anything about this superhero team until disney decided to make a movie about them. It was a fun and exciting movie to watch.

Linedians has everything, action comedy that same grittiness when you saw Star Wars excellent characters and story Line. blu-ray disc is excellent and does not disappoint the 3D is amazing as well. I cannot stop watching this movie it is so good I have already seen it four times and will watch it again definitelyI even took my parents who are in their late sixties to see this in the theater and they loved it if you have not seen it do yourself a favor and pick this up. Only downfall is I would like more bonus features.

I definitely had mixed thoughts about this flim just from watching the trailer. I thought a marvel flim with a talking raccoon and tree this is going to be corny. After hearing from a few of my friends that it was a great movie. I was convinced to go see it. After going to the theater and watching it; I was like this was a amazing flim...it had tons of comedy and a great music selection. It was definitely a movie to love! I just had to purchase it on dvd, with all my other marvel and super hero movie collection. A++++
