I love the Guardians of the Galaxy movies so much so, that I purchased both on UHD disc. The first movie in the SteelBook is pretty cool but the movie itself is great and entertaining and the soundtrack is great, but the 4K disc is so much better than the streaming version. The picture and sound are almost reference material, in my opinion.

This movie not only gets you in the feels from the story but the soundtrack is one of the most memorable of all! James Gunn truly hits the nail on the head in the depiction of this rag tag group of misfits! Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the best installments in the Marvel Universe and will continue to reign supreme with Gunn at the helm.

Action packed and full of emotion, Marvel has done it again. The visuals were stunning. I was very impressed with Gamora, who wasn't your typical action heroine. She had a sweet side to her that rounded her out, a sort of character that girls need to see more often. The other characters were enjoyable in their actions and psyche, but also sympathetic. I loved every moment of it. For those who haven't seen it, I suggest you get it now!

It's the steelbook version of GOTG containing the 2d and 3d blu ray versions of the movie. There is no DVD and it does have it's vudu code for viewing without the disc. The steelbook is in limited quantities so it is best to pre-order this as it is said that people were standing in line to buy multiple copies when it first came out. I walked into the store after 3pm on release date and picked up my pre-order steelbook with no problems.

I know that some out there have Marvel/superhero fatigue...but I'd recommend Guardians of the Galaxy even for folks in that category. It's a very different feel than the superhero movies--more like a Star Wars type film. It has great action sequences, plenty of comical banter, and, for those of us who are far from being tired of the comic book genre, more plot developments to develop the unfurling of the Marvel universe on film.

It's like the avengers, but everyone some kind of Fellon, alien, has some weird kind of power or obsession and they're all just in general mischiefmakers. And one of them is a genetically engineered raccoon-who has an addiction to making bombs and anything destructive.And there is a lot of humor. If you follow the overall Marvel cinematic universe, there is a lot to delve into in this movie that you cannot get from just one viewing

I'm surprised by how many people are apparently rating this movie so highly. I've seen it at the cinema and it's really a very mixed bag but after watched blu ray it's much much better - great special effects of course, but totally formulaic with plot and dialogue clearly written for those in their early teens. This is very obviously a kids movie, and the most juvenile marvel movie I've seen by some margin. Story-wise, it's at best.

This movie surprised everyone in my family with its charm. I wasn't prepared to enjoy it was much as I did, but from my 4 year old daughter to her 65 year old grandfather we all found a reason to smile. It is violent, as to be expected with most of the Marvel fare, but it has heart beneath the explosions. Who would have thought you'd tear up for the loss of a talking tree? ( let alone one voiced by Vin Diesel). Bring on the sequel!

One of the more entertaining films released this year. One does not see a Marvel film for a cathartic experience, but to be entertained. On that level, Guardians of the Galaxy succeeds. Filled with action, adventure and humor, this film is entertaining as anything else released this year. Post conversion 3d gets better and better every year and Guardians does not disappoint in this area. A worthy addition to anyone's BD collection.

No, really, who saw this coming? I like and read comics but had never read a "Guardians" comic before and I'm glad I hadn't, it's nothing like the movie. This is basically "the Avengers in space, with a twist," but with even more humor than the main marvel franchises. Special features on the disk are the usual "making of" stuff, nothing fancy, except for the transitions in one, done eight bit video game style, which was very nice.

Purchased in-store for the 3D edition. A joyful fun and unique experience, GotG is a gem for the Marvel movie collector. Audio and visual are at the highest caliber and the story has just as much heart. My main criticism would be the fairly thin amount of extras in the release. Considering how much money these films pull in, a robust behind-the-scenes experience I've come to enjoy with many event films would have been appreciated.

Guardians of the galaxy is THE surprises hit of this year! Marvel does an amazing job of brining a very small comic property and making it a house hold name. The movie is beautifully balanced with action,humor and plot. The character development is on point, it's hard not to love the characters by the end of the film. The Fx are stunning, Rocket Raccon looks amazing on blu ray. The 3D on the film just takes it to the next level.

I admit that I am a sci-fi fan and have a weak spot for comic book genre movies because I am curious to see if the interpretations made by producers/directors compare to my own imaginings. That being said... This was just good, straight-forward entertainment: The story was interesting as were the characters and the writing and special effects were outstanding. The pace was good and there was a fair amount of well placed humor.

Before watching the movie, I had honestly not expected much. I thought it would be a regular, a-bit-above-average kind of movie. How I was so wrong. A cast of unique characters, a knockout soundtrack, especially for those grew up listening 70s music and obviously a good strong storyline with some humorous moments. Marvel, you did it again.

My husband and I saw this at the drive in... TWICE! It's super funny and has become a favorite of ours. My husband thought it would flop, but was greatly surprised at how much he enjoyed the film! I LOVE Rocket and Groot! I wanted to hug them! Do yourself a favor and fall in love with this story of a group of misfits who, though some miracle, figure out how to work together and save the GALAXY!

Who thought movies could still be this entertaining. A great story, special effects and music to boot! I LOVED IT. I might have to get another copy because I could wear this one out! I was afraid that Rocket and Groot might look too 'Jar-Jar Binks' but technology has come a long way and you think of them as characters not CGI! Loved it! Can't wait for the next installment. Too bad Lee Pace won't be back, loved his villain!

This was the first movie we watched on our new AV setup which included a Samsung UN88JS9590 SUHD, Denon AVR6200W and a pair of Bowers & Wilkins CM10 S2' speakers and an ASW 10CM S2 sub added to an existing Sonance in wall surround and sub system. We were completely blown away with both picture and sound engneering. This movie was the perfect selection to inaugurate our new system. Enjoyed the story line too!

If Guardians of the Galaxy really resonates with you as a film you love, I think its worth kicking out the extra few bucks for this Steelbook. The design is such that it looks like the Walkman that features heavily in the film. My only gripe (and it's tiny) is that there are faux operating buttons down the spine instead of the name of the film. If you have a large movie collection stored like books, it sticks out that way.

This movie was expected to be the end of the Marvel Universes reign at the box office. It has a bunch of characters that no one had heard of and no one was expecting it to be any good. Well guess what.......IT WAS FANTASTIC. Great characterization. Plenty of action. Fun storyline and plenty of comedy for kids and adults alike. I don't think you could really ask for more. I promise if you pick it up that you will enjoy it.

Guardians is one of the best entries into the MCU. The humor is top notch, the action is amazing, and every character represents their own shiny facet of this gem in the rough and tumble Marvel world. Although a few of the films have added some humor throughout none have matched this one yet. So good.
