Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 succeeds in pretty much every way it conceivably could have. The first installment was terrific, being both fun and exciting to an extent most movies aren't, and this new movie manages to be even better in every sense. Questions raised during the previous movie are addressed, new characters are added into the mix while the already established characters are explored and given additional depth, and all of it is wrapped up in a fascinating story that is captivating and dramatic without taking itself too seriously. Ignoring noise being carried in the medium of space, especially during what amounts to a fireworks display near the end, is really the biggest problem I have with this movie...and it's not like that is a piece of poor filmmaking exclusive to this movie. I'm glad that James Gunn is on board to helm Volume 3, because he has handled this franchise precisely the way it should be treated.

Fantastic addition to the Avenger series. The characters are excellent.

Based upon a comic book that was considered risky at best, there was some trepidation when Disney / Marvel announced Guardians Of The Galaxy as their next feature film project. Some even thought this might signal the start of a downward spiral for the Marvel film franchise. And then the film opened, and everyone was taken by surprise. Marvel films have long been known for a sly comic touch that helps to accent the action of their various superhero movies, but here the comedy takes center stage, and it works beautifully. Taking us by surprise, with a nod and a wink, the story of these off beat heroes is both amusing and engaging. Likewise the music is an integral part of the whole and works well at setting the mood for the wry comedy. If you have not seen Volume 1 then you are in for a treat. The video quality in HD is excellent as is the sound. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.1 will be a welcome addition to your video collection.

Fun film that stretches the MCU off of Earth. Looks fantastic in 4K.
