Been using this tax software for several years. Sufficient. Easy to use. Some questions can be ambiguous but that's nature of taxes. Answers generally easy to find. The free included online federal filing is nice, but the "catch" is state online filing has never been free so you'll still need mail in or cough up the fee... that's same for any tax software. Even online state free filing would result in fees if you have to file federal like I do. Importing previous year's data from this or other software is common feature as well.. in short they all do the deal.

Overall, I like this software just fine - especially at the price difference when compared to TurboTax. However, it could definitely stand to be improved in terms of menu/section navigation. In order to get to one particular data entry point, you often have to click through an entire section and if you pass it up and need to use the “Back” button - it may kick you back to the beginning of the section. I find the menu navigation and options of TurboTax to be much friendlier and especially miss their Audit Risk estimations. However, the price difference and reported recent Mac compatibility issues of TurboTax lead me to give H&R Block a try instead this year.

I've used H&R Block for a decade or so and have found this product to usually be exceptionally easy to use. However, this year the instructions missed a beat in a couple of areas causing me to undergo hours of frustration and advisor chats until I ultimately figured out the problem myself. They also had a zip code for mailing the state return that the post office indicated was wrong. It was easy, but a little time consuming to notify them of the existing problems. Next year, H&R Block needs to spend more time proofing their instructions before releasing their software. I look forward to a clean, easy return when I buy it then.

If you've been satisfied with prior year versions of this tax software, you'll also be satisfied with this year. I buy the Premium version for the self-employed and rental income capabilities. If you don't need those tax forms, you may be able to buy the less expensive version. The new tax laws are in this version. This isn't software for paid tax professionals, but works well for the home user. A big plus is that you get one state tax software included, although they make it up by charging you $19.95 to file the state tax return electronically. You can file up to 5 federal tax returns for free.

I have used H&R Block tax software for several years, and find it extremely easy to use. If you have your tax records organized, you can complete a federal tax form in a few hours for simple, multiple-income source scenarios . The premium version is very helpful for preparing Schedule C for self-employment income.

I've been using this instead of TurboTax for the last several years since it's less intrusive on the computer. It works better and is backed by HR Block. The only thing is that the Premium program is supposed to handle K1 reporting and it falls short in that regard. Everything else works great.

I purchased the H&R Block Deluxe Tax software for 2018. Very good price, it includes 5 free Federal e-files, free state program and better capability than comparable TurboTax.

I use H&R Block software for all of my returns every year. It's always worked wonderfully and always has the information I need as I create my return. The software is easy to use, and if you use it every year it has the ability to autofill as well as find your new W2 info online if your payroll company supports the feature. Finishing the return and sending it electronically is so easy as well. H&R Block will send you emails letting you know your status. I had my return automatically deposited in my savings account in less than 2 weeks at no additional cost. I highly recommend this product.

This is the 2nd year of purchasing this item and I like it a lot. Very user friendly and affordable.

This tax program has been great for me over the last 5 years without any issues. This years program is performing excellently. The software walks you through all potential revenues and then it steps you through all potential deductions. Updates are provided to you periodically and you are entitled to download one state tax program. It also updates last years information as a starting point. It will also upload your financial data directly from your bank saving you data entry.

Have been using this software for a number of years. It simplifies my efforts as it brings forward year on year repetitive entries for dividends and interest, employment 1099Rs and other info. Handles self employment and home office expenses. Does what it needs to do saving me time. Have reviewed past an confirmed that it properly calculated taxes.

Used HR Block Premium software for many years. Easy to use for manual data entry (pre-populates applicable info from prior year), and easy to update when additional tax information needs to be entered. On-line Fed and State tax submission is straightforward. State tax E-file is an additional $19.95.

I much prefer the H&R Block to its main competition. I've been using this product (and its TaxCut predecessor) for about 15 years, I think. I tried TurboTax once or twice over the years, but found that the H&R Block product was much easier to use. I've used the customer service and tax advisor functions/services a few times and have always been satisfied.

Have been doing doing taxes using this program for last few years. Easy to import data from previous year. Data from brokerage houses easily imported.

It was delivered within the schedule they post. And it was in good condition. I already used this product. It is easy to use. I order this product from best buy every year for my tax return. Therefore, I don't need to reenter all the basic information from previous year. I feel it is better than Turbo Tax. I would recommend to my friends.

This was my first time using H&R Block program and I was completely satisfied. Basically retired, part time income, rental income, stock and dividends. The program handled all nicely and led me through it. I'll use it again next year.

I always buy HR Block software to do my own taxes. I have experience with completing tax returns with my accounting background. I just personally like this software over others.

I felt that I should have sticked to the lower priced H&R block. Seems like it was not really different than the ones I normally used. But, I guess if you have more than 1 rental property & several dude business, this will be helpful. Compared to competition, this is still cheaper.

Hi I have used this program for years however, I always learns something when I do my taxes. I am a contractor and I have always used this program however, I made a miss that has costs me thousands over the past few years. In other words, my refund could have been bigger by thousands. Just because I am not a tax law expert. If you work in multiple states like I do, let a professional do your taxes. At least once or twice and listen and take notes. That way you wont make the same mistake that I did which was giving away extra money to the state. I caught it this year and will catch it in years to come, however, I do not want to go through the amendment process to get this money back. I will look at my loss as tuition in the school of hard knocks.
