Could be better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The SIM card works - no problem. H2O is probably not the best provider - reception is sometimes not good - but the price and the plan options are good. The H2O website isn't very user friendly but it works.

Data speeds are usually slower than dialup. Bad.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had faster data speeds on 33.6 dialup. I call and my bandwidth occasionally hits 2Mbps for a day, then back to 50-75 Kbps. Can't even receive picture messages. The tower is 2 blocks from my house. When my service is slow, I put my neighbors SIM in my phone (ATT, same tower) and I get 5 Mbps. Then I'm told by customer service it's my location. I've been with H2O for 2 weeks and I have 2 weeks to go and it's back to ATT, H2O throttles bandwidth with a vengeance.

Terrible Company, complete ripoff
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a terrible experience! I'm a new customer and on my third sim card in two days trying to port my number over. The port has to be completed on an un-activated sim, which is not clarified on their website. I activated my new sim card, put $30 on the account, and completed the port form. When the form would not submit, I called H20 and was told the sim could no longer be used to port a number since it had already been activated. I asked to speak with a supervisor who advised me to purchase a new card and I would receive a 10 day credit as compensation. I called back with the new sim card and the representative ported the wrong number! REALLY! The 2nd sim was now ruined. He advised me to purchase a 3rd sim, and I would receive an additional 10 days of service as compensation - total of 20 days. He also assured me that everything was noted in the account to avoid confusion when I called back. An hour later, I call back with the 3rd sim card. Yes, I was dumb enough to drive back to Best Buy. AGAIN! The 3rd rep, after multiple tries, was finally able to port my # successfully. She then proceeds to tell me that I will only receive credit for one of the sim cards, because it wasn't clearly noted in my account. BTW, all the supervisors are now (conveniently) too busy to speak with me. I understand that people make mistakes, which is why I was so patient through this whole experience. But blatant dishonesty from a company is unacceptable.

Easy activation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This SIM card works well with an older LG A340 flip phone from AT&T. Activation was easy from the H2O website. Using with a pay-as-you-go plan.

Bad Customer Service - Here's how to cancel
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this SIM card and signed up for their $25 a month plan for a used unlocked iPhone 3. It worked for a while but kept showing a "balance" screen every few minutes, even when my available balance was over $100 (from rare usage.) Their customer service said the balance screens could not be disabled, but appear only on their lowest-rate plan. When I upgraded the iOS to the current 6.0 version, the phone didn't recognize their SIM card any more. When I called their Customer Service, they had no solution. When I asked to cancel the service, they said they could only do it if I told them the last 3 phone numbers I had dialed with the phone. Since the phone was bricked, that wasn't possible. The way out of their hall of mirrors was to have them remove my debit card from the account, and let the account lapse and automatically cancel in 30 days from non-use. They were extremely unhelpful throughout my experience with them, and I would never do business with h2owireless or their parent company Locus Communications ever again.

NOTICE - SIM Card Deactivates!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I now live outside of the United States but I return every 6 months or so to visit friends and family. I bought this SIM card to use while I am state-side. When I bought the card, H20 told me that my MINUTES would expire (fine) but they never mentioned that the SIM CARD in fact deactivates and cannot be reactivated remotely. The only answer, according to H20 tech support, is to go to the store and buy a new card. . . kind of hard to do when you're abroad and purchased the product so you can have a working US phone once the plane lands! So, if you are looking to use a phone only periodically, this is not the card for you!

Worse Customer Service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a problem about my service with H2O. I called customer service for few times during 2 weeks. Nobody solved my problem. Their English was very bad. Information zero. Authority zero. I had to talk to a supervisor for twice. However, I could not talk to her at that time and I had to wait for her call to 24 hours. She promised to me to leave a note for solving my problem, but it did not happen. They told me I have to talk to a manager, however, he never called me. Nobody is responsible in H2O company. I do not recommend this service at all . They are just a reseller of AT&T and quality is not about them. They have one duty which is good customer service, but they can not handle their duty. If you want not to upset like me, you should not buy this service.

Good alternative for cheap phone service

Great career
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It uses ATT towers. I charge $10 and it is good for 90 days. I pay only 5 cents per minute or sms. I think it is the cheapest career available, but it is still a lot. They charge 5 cents for income and outcome calls and sms. But anyway comparing other careers I would recommend H2O wireless.

AVOID THIS COMPANY! BBB complaint #9947436
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After spending 10 hours doing support chats/calls to get data services unsuccessfully setup on a Blackberry Z10 and Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro, three unreturned escalation calls, them shipping me a new SIM card that had been permanently disabled, their refusal to replace the bad SIM that THEY sent me and refusal to refund me - I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Very shady company formerly called Locus Telecommunications and there is a massive lawsuit settlement about them overcharging customers. Do a search for yourself.

It deserves 0 stars
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was organizing a group from overseas visiting the US for training and was looking for a SIM for their mobile so they could call home. We found the SIM card and H2O prepaid card and everything on the packaging indicated this would work. The SIM card was labeled a "travelers SIM" and clearly stated on the front that you could text and call internationally. The back stated prices from 5 cents up to over 53 countries, We went online at Best Buy to confirm their country was included. It was so we purchased it and the $25 card - the only one Best Buy had - after carefully reviewing the fine print. Imagine our surprise then when we went online and found of the $25 only $5 was for international calls! The card is apparently only for calls within the US - nowhere in the fine print was this mentioned! I called the company and asked them to move the entire balance to international calls as that is all they wanted to do. They refused. The Best Buy staff helping us was stunned as well. Ultimately Best Buy refunded him for the money as it was blatantly misleading at best.

Not happy at all
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will NEVER buy another H2O card again! I returned from Europe in May and found they had canceled my number from the previous summer. I last used the new number in July and returned to Europe, Now I'm traveling back and after only 2 months I was told they had canceled my number AGAIN!!! TWO FLIPPIN MONTHS!!! A deactivation for non use is one thing, but to CANCEL the number? Give me a break! Kinda takes the whole MOBILE idea out of my mobile phone. And then there's the ridiculous activation process that requires a phone or internet connection to activate my SIM! If my phone was working I wouldn't be buying a SIM in the first place. But of course they still have to assign a number first which creates another bottleneck. Europe is kicking these guys butts. You buy a SIM, install it and turn on your phone. VIOLA! You're done! Phone works and has minutes included. H2O sucks!
