A truly inspirational war movie about a Medal of Honor winner who never carried a gun! A truly magnificent act of bravery and a story well worth telling. The movie never bogs down, moving quickly with character development to set up the action. The battle scenes in the second half are excellent and gritty. Gibson has never left much to the imagination so there is a fair amount of gore.

I saw this movie in the theater and loved it. Based on a true story, Hacksaw Ridge will really move you. The blu-ray comes with some great bonus features that I haven't finished watching yet. Also comes with a digital download which is good for iTunes. Very graphic scenes of war and violence. Definitely not appropriate for younger viewers. Excellent comeback for director Mel Gibson!

Came across this the other day while in store, I had just recently picked it up on blu ray, but there was no way I was passing it up in 4K, and steel book!! I love this film, and this steel book is so worth adding to my collection!!

Powerful true story..of courage, character and conviction.....portraying the life of a conscientious objector who wanted to serve in the military but on his terms. His story is portrayed by Mel Gibson in a manner that is gripping, and deeply emotional. I don't like war movies...I don't like all the carnage. but this movie I saw and it was a MUST OWN,,,because of the message....

Despite what you think about Mel Gibson in his personal life, this is the movie that brings him back on top in his directoral field. This is the best movie he has made since Braveheart. The story is incredible and true. I have not been inspired this much in a long time by a movie. Best Picture nomination well-deserved. Good acting as well. Best Director nod to Mel Gibson. too.

Very graphic (similar to Saving Private Ryan), but an extremely informative and outstanding portrayal of an historical event I suspect few know about; I certainly was not aware of the heroic efforts described even though I've long had a keen interest in military history. A must see for everyone, especially those who appreciate what the "Greatest Generation" did for our country.

This movie is not 100% accurate, I recommend reading further to learn about the true Desmond Doss. However, the movie does a great job of capturing the fear and violence that the men of WW2 faced in the pacific. The movie does a good job of reminding you of the sacrifice of those that lost their lives and the rest who had to return home and readjust to ordinary civilian life.

I had debated whether to see this movie much less buy it because I had heard it was going to be a vehicle for the far right to use for their political and military objectives. But I can honestly say that it kept my interest throughout the movie without feeling as if I was being preached to. I would recommend it for people who are going to be pleasantly surprised by this movie.

I did not see this in the theater. However, after hearing so much buzz about it, I had to add it to my collection. Glad I did. The sounds are realistic and the photography is great on Blu Ray. It is just a great movie, highly recommended.

I went into this movie without much expectation but was very pleasantly surprised. This movie really hits the nail on the head. The sound editing, the cinematography, editing and pacing and not to mention the acting in this one was great. I highly recommend watching this in 4k with a full surround system to really get that immersive experience which this movie was made for.

This movie was hard to watch, from a violence standpoint. Interesting that the main character is a conscientious objector. The fact that this is a true story makes it all the more gut-wrenching. Gibson is back in Braveheart form here. The cinematics are amazing, the pacing intense, and the acting is superb. Gibson coaxes the best out of a talented cast. Highly recommended.

Wow, what a great historical film. The storyline is amazing and the cinematography is absolutely incredible. This movie is emotion moving, realistic and very graphic. What a fantastic portrayal of events during WWII in Okinawa. I will watch it again to absorb the details I may have missed the first time. Superb choice for anyone's collection, I certainly added it to mine.

Hacksaw Ridge is an accurate portrayal of WWII. The action and special effects were awesome. The true story makes one think just how great that generation was defending our freedom. Freedom is not free. Many brave soldiers paid the ultimate price so that we may enjoy the freedoms we have each day. I would like to say thank you to all of them. This is an excellent movie.

If you liked Saving Private Ryan, you'll like this. Based on the true story of WWII American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, who served during the Battle of Okinawa, refuses to kill people, and becomes the first man in American history to receive the Medal of Honor without firing a shot. More than a war movie, it's a great story. Will definitely be watching this one again.

This is a true story about a different kind of hero in World War II - a conscientious objector named Desmond Doss who becomes an Army medic and is sent into the heat of battle in Okinawa. Spectacular performances are done by Andrew Garfield (who plays Doss), Vince Vaughn, Sam Worthington and Luke Bracey among others. Mel Gibson does a great job of directing this film.

This is a great film Loved it Serious battlefield carnage so beware. The guy this movie is based on is a true hero of epic proportions. The people he saved after all the abuse he took speaks volume of the character of this man and his unwavering faith. Disc is really good picture and sound are fantastic Video better than the bluray Sound is the same...

In my opinion the best movie in 2016 . The blu ray treatment is definitely first rate. The war action scenes reminded me of some of the best in Private Ryan. Very realistic visuals and impressive audio. This is a blu ray worth collecting and watching again and again. The story line and acting in this biopic is engaging and the characters are worthy of your attention.

As a film this is a very courageous film. Very visceral as it captures the brutality of war yet inspiring in how it captures the empathy and will of Desmond Doss. This 4K disc futures THE BEST HDR I have ever seen since owning a 4K bluray player. Amazing contrast and color with great sound design in that sound great even on a 2.1ch soundbar.

I love this movie. Aside from being a true story, it follows a very patriotic and moral standpoint. It was well made, and the sound and cinematography are top notch. It is not a movie for children due to being very graphic with lots of war violence and death. That being said, it really adds to the storyline and moral conflict being portrayed.
