Great war movie with pretty decent acting. The story of someone going to war without firing a gun is a nice change of pace. Hugo Weaving is great as a supporting actor. While it was weird seeing Vince Vaughn in a serious role, I thought he did a good job. The cinematography and story are what makes this film a great movie to add to your war collection.

I really enjoyed this movie. The story line was well developed and the special effects were well done without overshadowing the storyline. The fact that it is based off a true story is amazing and inspiring. This was my first blueray and it is noticeable when compared to DVD in terms of picture and audio quality. Really recommend this film of a true American hero.

This movie brings an untold story of a man with great will and bravery who saves lives during combat. It is a very heart warming movie that will make up you shed a few tears. Great story telling, expect war, blood and guts. The price was right to pick up in 4k. Didn't dissapoint. Enjoy:)

This is the best shot war movie I have ever seen. No one shots action as well as Mel Gibson. This film tells the true story of a soldier, in the bloodiest battle of WW2, that would not touch a weapon and saved many lives. This is a story that I never before heard and needs to be told. Mel Gibson depicts the horrors of war and I feel he deserves the Oscar. See it!

Really liked this one, from award-winning actor Mel Gibson - he beautifully crafted this one, with good amounts of melodrama, great action sequences with a war-torn backdrop to it all... can be a bit long, but be patient - the ending is sweet, with a lot of fine acting from the cast!! Highly recommended - looking forward to seeing this one again and again!!!

This movie is one of those that keeps you wanting the guy to succeed. Even if you don't agree with his religious views . Felt like the story was one my dad might have told us to make a point that not everyone is made to be a warrior, using a killing machine of some sort. That men in war so what needs to get done. Its an uplifting story for anyone to enjoy.

A complex and interesting real story based on a real life bonafide hero. (And like the heroes of that generation, not that he would say he is a hero.) It is a war movie, so I wouldn't show it to young kids. This movie will keep until they are older, and the movie will not get dated.

This is an excellent war film. True story about a soldier that wanted to help fellow soldiers during World War ll as a medic out on the battlefield, that refused to carry a gun. Also, the cover art on this steelbook release is exquisite!

The story of Desmond Doss was told well with a little help from Hollywood. Here was a gentleman who stood firm on his faith based beliefs and did not falter. Those who initially thought he was weak and not useful found out through firsthand life experience that they were completely wrong.

Though this is by far the best war movie since Saving Private Ryan, this is more than just a war movie. It is also a family drama and a love story as well. The movie flows from beginning to end and is easy to follow. Being based on a true story makes it even more enjoyable. If Moonlight and Blah Blah Land are not your cup of tea, this is the movie for you.

This was a great telling of a true war story and the picture and sound on this disc is truly outstanding. I enjoyed this film from beginning to end and I'm happy to add this title to my 4K Blu-ray collection. Five stars!

I love movies that are based off of real life events. This movie is an awesome movie all around. It got some of the details wrong from actual events, but surprisingly in many cases the real person's heroics were downplayed because they believed people would think that what happened was too fantastical and not real. Great war movie!

Such a great movie, saw in theaters and since then made my decision that I would buy this movie. great package that comes with multiple copies. For the nice full HD look the bluray for ease of access to watch anywhere the digital copy. And just because hey maybe the uncle with only a dvd player want to watch it you can pass that copy down to him.

Loved the movie. It was about a young man who wanted to serve his country without lifting a weapon. He was persecuted by his commander who encourage mistreat of him by his fellow recruits. They tried to force him out of the army but he won and later they learned what a good and brave person he was. I have watched the movie several times.

"Hacksaw Ridge" is an outstanding movie about the true story of America's only conscientious objector to earn the Medal Of Honor in any of America's wars. Pvt Dos Desmond was only able to help save the lives of 75 of his wounded comrades because of his faith in Jesus Christ. The quality of the DVD was excellent and the price was very competitive.

At the Willamette National Cemetery some year ago, I read the citation for the medal of honor won by the main character in this movie. In the citation, it was stated his actions could not of been accomplished without the help of God. After seeing the movie, I agree. This is a very violent movie, and I wouldn't let children watch it.

I love war movies and this war movie is detail oriented in uniforms, tactics to some degree, and other fine details. Worth watching in 4k for sure over a regular dvd, its that kind of movie where you only benefit seeing explosions and war heavy scenes in greater detail that the 4k UHD/HDR provides that DVD or regular Blu ray cant touch!

You can take many things away from this wonderfully entertaining movie, but the one thing that has gotten me each time I've watched it is sad fervent prayer, Lord let me find just one more. It is so heartfelt and moving and then to hear the actual Desmond Doss repeat that in his own voice at the end of the movie was the most moving moment for me.

What a great movie about an extraordinary human being by the name of Mr. Desmond Doss, who is played by the wonderful actor Mr. Andrew Garfield and directed by Mr. Mel Gibson. A story of Mr. Doss who saved over 75 men during World War two at a place called Hacksaw Ridge. Get out and buy or rent this fantastic movie you will not be disappointed.

A great story of true heroism. The story of a man who held true to his own beliefs & principles while fulfilling a duty to his country as a solider. A solider who accomplished the momentous task of saving many lives in the face of great dangers while unarmed by choice, using his medical skills & smart thinking. An absolutely amazing film.
