This is an outstanding war film and highly recommended. It's a very graphic and violent movie which depicts a medic (who won't carry a gun because of his religious beliefs) become a hero in battle and saves numerous lives. It's also a love story and story about family which sometimes forges our beliefs and our future.

The movie was based on a true story of a soldier who used no weapon and saved 75 men in WWII. It included his childhood, falling in love, and the war with the Japanese. Andrew Garfield was fantastic and Vince Vaughn added a little levity. I saw most of the movies up for best picture and think that Hacksaw Ridge should of won.

Great movie, inspiring, sobering and enlightening. The battle scenes were horrific, the story was endearing and heart-breaking. The message of conviction was strong. The fact that this is a true story is amazing. This guy was a true hero among men but more importantly was a true servant of the God he loved and served first.

If it weren't based on well-documented events and multiple eyewitness accounts, this movie would be very hard to believe. As it is it's a fantastic account of the heart and soul of a man who puts his faith and others above himself. Nightmarish battle scenes make the hero's actions even more astounding.

Mel Gibson did a great job on this movie. And he gave such honor to the man & his faith. It's very graphic & hard to watch sometimes....although, we know the reality was even WORSE! But what a good thing to tell this story! Best Buy packaging the Bluray & DVD together, & having reward coupons, made this a real bargain!

The first part of this film brought back a lot of memories of my own time in the army in basic training. Of course, things always happen differently in different camps. But the gist of the training is there. And to see this 'coward' operate under these extreme conditions is something else. A great movie to be seen by all.

This BluRay comes with a regular DVD and a digital copy. It's one of the most unique stories I've never heard about during World War II. A soldier who stood up for his beliefs and wanted to fight for his country regardless of the pressures and challenges his unit gave him until he proved them wrong. Great story and movie.

This is a great story and well told war movie about an unlikely hero who stands for what he believes. The war scenes are dramatic and violent but captivating and emotional. Kept my attention the entire time. The audio and visuals on the blu-ray disc are excellent. Highly recommended movie if you like well told war movies.

All i could say when i watched this movie was OMG!!! Directed by Mel Gibson lets you know you are in for a ride, All of the action special effects a great story and then knowing its a true story keeps you ar the edge of your seat through out the entire movie. A definate must for all action lovers, you wont be let down.

Mel Gibson kills it with this WWII movie based on fact. Easily one of the best war movies I have ever watched. Great cast, lot's of action, and answers that great moral dilemma as to whether or not a man morally opposed to killing can still serve in the military. The last 30 minutes of this movie will knock you out.

Great character development, humor, realistic war scenes and romance are all mixed with perfect proportions making this a great watch. If you're squeamish, you may want to avoid it. It made my stomach churn more than Saving Private Ryan did and that was the worst war depiction I'd seen before Hacksaw Ridge.

As an Army Vet who has served with C.O.'s, I see this movie as an accurate depiction of those who stand up for their conviction and still serve their country. No cowardice in this Soldier but rock solid resolve.

Best movie of 2016 hands down in my opinion. Also, the best war movie I've seen since Fury and Saving Private Ryan. Gibson does a great job of making you like the characters in the movie. The war scenes near the end were so intense. I don't care what people think about Gibson.....this guy can direct a great movie!!!!

Yes, this story about Desmond Doss, the WWII medic who refused to use a rifle but insisted on serving his country and his fellow man, has a healthy dose of Hollywood. That does not take away from what he and his faith accomplished during the Battle of Okinawa. Warning: graphic war scenes

the most accurate action sequences of any war movie. hang on to your seat this will take you on one wild ride this hero is for real. i can't understand why this movie wasnt made before now, but Mel Gibson did a great job.

So we have all seen many war movies and in most cases based on an actual event but mostly using creative latitude to be more dramatic, but in this film I have to be honest i never new about the story of the real person. That being said I was very impressed with this film from the start and I think you will as well.

Excellent movie that could have been a documentary. The personal element for each character was clearly displayed, and as a veteran, I could appreciate all those men and women went through, both in battle and in supporting those who fought.

After some product and pricing research I decided that this was the product for me. It was easy to purchase, works as promised, easy to use and exactly what I expected. I mean what else can I say to get to required word count for my review to be complete? Best Buy is great and the products are usually as expected

I saw the premier and had to buy to own. This is one of the only true to life war movies I have watched. The only sense missing was taste and smell. You can feel and see the experience conflict brings. The story is inspirational and provides insight into the heroic characteristics required to earn the MOH.
