I love a good war movie, and Hacksaw Ridge is probably the best since Saving Private Ryan (Fury is up here as well). The gore is maybe a little over the top at times, but the acting, suspense and action are all top-notch. I highly suggest the film if you have even a remote interest in the genre.

Great great great! The story is amazing, the acting is amazing and the movie is very well done. It is similar to other Mel Gibson movies such as We Were Soldiers, Braveheart, Patriot, etc. If you are an action, war movie or drama junkie, this is for sure a movie for you. I would recommend it to anyone.

Andrew Garfield knocked this one out of the park as the humble and strong Desmond Doss. I'm a sucker for true stories and this one was top notch. Great directing from Mel Gibson. The blu-ray quality was phenomenal. Incredible audio and video. If you like war movies and true stories, this is a must.

It is a great movie. However, buying it was kind of a waste for me because it is one of those movies that you watch once and is really good but not really made for watching more than once.

This movie should have won Best Picture at the Oscars. Mel Gibson did a great job making the movie. It has very realistic war scenes with all the injured/dead soldiers. Andrew Garfield did an outstanding job...........reminds me of Gary Cooper in "Sgt. York", which won Mr. Cooper one of his two Oscars.

I read this story years ago. I was so excited to find out that this true story had been made into a movie. The local library did not carry it because of the rating. Black Friday allowed me to acquire the movie at a discount price with my rewards points. What an awesome deal!

Nicely made steelbook with slipcover. I’ve only watch the 4K on Vudu because I don’t have a true 4K player but the quality is still outstanding. The flame throwing scene and explosions look so real.

On par with Saving Private Ryan, We Were Soldiers. Not for the faint at heart or squeamish to blood, as the war is graphic. The story is fantastic, although it does start slow and Andrew Garfield can be annoying, but the story and action make up. End with the actual Desmond is great ending

This film was amazing! I'm a big fan of war movies so I had to get this when it came out and it surpassed my expectations. It's a very different story from your typical action packed war movie, but there's plenty of action scenes as well. The movie gave me goosebumps it was so good. Excellent buy.

a true World War II movie about a soldier who won the Congressional Medal of Honor despite refusing to bear arms during WWII on religious grounds. Doss was drafted and ostracized by fellow soldiers for his pacifist stance but went on to earn respect and adoration for his bravery in the battlefield.

Hacksaw Ridge [Blu-ray/DVD] [2 Discs] [Eng/Spa] [2016] is the best film of the year hands down. If Mel Gibson wasn't a (blank) he would've received the win for best director easily. Great emotional, dramatic and humor blend. Love this movie. I highly recommend this movie for any and all film lovers.

Mel Gibson does an amazing job bringing the life of a war hero to the big screen. The entire film works, overall. The blu-ray is amazing, with high grade visuals and audio. The features are very cool; there is a documentary on the disc that informs you more of the main hero. Highly recommended.

Desmond Doss is a true American hero and one of the bravest men to ever live. This movie is based on his actions at Okinawa and all the men he saved while marching off to the battle without even a weapon an unbelievable true story and anyone who claims to be an American should know about.

The acting ensemble in this movie harkens back to the days of movies like The Great Escape, or The Dirty Dozen. Vince Vaughn plays his role perfectly without being too much like the other characters he has played yet still being humorous. Definitely a movie I would recommend to friends and family.

remarkable movie slow at start but once it got going conscious objector getting the country's highest honor without ever holding a gun is truely remarkable however what he did in a fierce battle is spectacular and a testament to strength of all our brave members of the military past and present

While this film was a bit slow to truly capture our attention, we were soon fully engaged in watching the story unfold. The battle scenes were appropriately realistic, and the main character of this true story was far more heroic than the celebrities called "heroes" today. Highly recommend.

Wanted a great war movie and this one was just what I was looking for. The story was good and if you are looking for a nice way to test out your surround sound, this is it. Especially if you want to experience the height channels in atmos.

The movie takes on an awful subject that is sad material and does a pretty good job. I like the acting jobs and thought the movie was worth one or two watches, really...good jobs considering the true story is part of a sad history that happened.

The movie is based on WII war zone called the Hacksaw , man this guy is amazing what he went thru believe me , this movie is ten times better than Saving Private Ryan with Tom Hanks , this movie is the puts you there in the action.
