Hats off to the screenwriters and director for making a great movie. The special effects are unbelievable. Once the action begins it is nonstop and is comparable to the opening scenes of "Saving Private Ryan". The fact that this movie is based on a true story makes it that much better.

This movie is an excellent study in morality that is usually ignored by Hollywood. It is thought provoking without making "straw men" of the supporters or opponents of the issues faced by the main character. We need more movies like this instead of just blowing up a city or a world.

What a great story. Didn't know about this story before the movie, but it was very inspiring. If you like a good war movie, you will like this one. The fact that it is based on a true story is even better. After watching you might want to check on how true to the story Hollywood kept it.

I had seen the movie and wanted a copy for myself; also, I have a grandson who saw the movie before and by the time I saw it, he had gone online to research the facts about 'Hacksaw Ridge' and the young man, Desmond Doss, who was a conscienous observor and ended up saving many lives

An excellent movie based on a true story, the UHD benefits were a real pleasant surprise! The details are amazing, and I'd never have thought that that the hdr coloring would have been as big of an upgrade as it was.

Nice steelbook with awesome slipcover! Wish all upcoming steelbooks have slipcovers like this that interact with the art on the outer steelbook. Movie is 4/5.

This movie was great. As a former Army Medic I thought it was right on the mark. The graphics might be a little harsh for the squeamish because they show a lot of dead bodies but for me I applaud the actors and especially the men who actually went through it. This is a keeper for me.

One of the best war movies ever made in my opinion. Plenty of action and an excellent story line. Say what you will about Mel Gibson directing but he definitely knows how to make a good movie. I already had this on Blu-Ray but had to pick it up on 4K as well.

I didn't have high hopes going into a movie that had the main character as a passive aggressor, but Andrew Garfield nailed it and the fact that it was based on a true story, and how it was filmed, made it that much more realistic. Good job Mel Gibson. Good price and it was in stock.

When my wife and I saw this on sale, we picked it up right away. Regardless of your views on war, this movie was amazing. It brought chills towards the end when Desmond keeps saying ‘Just One More’. Get this movie, it’s one that you can watch more than once.

We got this movie after renting out the first time and I can say we enjoyed it. The way that the movie was written and done was wonderful and this is one movie that we know that we would love to watch several times. We recommend this movie to those who love to watch war movies.

A true to life telling of one of the bravest man I have ever seen. The movie is accurate and well told. The actors are great as are the special effects. A very moving but graffic war movie of the times. A must see to understand what one man will do to remain true to his beliefs.

First of all, this movie is not for the faint of heart...the story of Desmond Doss is a fantastic tale of valor and courage in the face of the enemy and the Army's own onlaught against his personal ideals. Andrew Garfield does an amazing job sinking into Doss's skin. The first half is relatively slow but the tension ratchets up quickly. When the bullets start flying, your jaw will drop as the horrors of the "meat grinder" are presented in gorgeous UHD...great flick made even more amazing by its true-to-life roots.

Being retired military, this movie touched me. I didn't know we had a CMH winner who was a conscientious objector. I couldn't stop crying at some scenes, because I served in the Navy with Marines, and the movie hit on points that hit home, especially after serving in the Iraqi wars.

Okay, there are a few 4k transfers of war films that are great stories and great war films. Hacksaw ridge is one of the must haves for color , sound and story. I rank this with Saving Private Ryan, Blackhawk down, and Fury. All in 4k.

Starts off a bit slow, but amazing acting and gut wrenching scenes will keep you on the edge of your seat. War movies always make you appreciate the freedom we have, but this makes you appreciate the efforts of one man and what he did to a make difference in many other men's lives.

The movie is deeply moving, it is very graphic in the battle scenes, but not as shock value. I believe it was very realistic or as I would expect a war to be. There are several scenes that literally caused me to cry at the heart wrenching things that Doss had to endure. A must see.

Based on a true story. It was realistic enough to make you feel like you're there in the fight for your life with others. If your military, former military(like me), or had a family member that was in the service, this movie will hit home . A must see for sure in my opinion.

This is a great movie, for the price it was a must buy at Best Buy. If you own an Xbox one S this is just what your looking for. It is based on actual events, and the cast really brought the story to life. If you enjoy war movies or movies that inspire enjoy and your welcome.

An amazing war movie that I was happy to upgrade to 4K! The steelbook with the slip cover is absolutely beautiful to look at, and the movie is so rewatchable!
