When it is a true story of convictions and bravery it stands up with the best. Such as Sargeant York. Mel Gibson has brought the realities and how terrible war really is to the big screen for the second time. We Were Soldiers being the first.

I have always had great respect for the greatest generation but after seeing this, I have even more. Great movie and a great man. In a world of chaos and poor examples, this man is one to idolize. Thank you for making a movie about his service.

Well written, beautifully shot, amazing cinematic effects. Gibson did a great job with this film. A very powerful story and almost unimaginable that this was based on true events. I put it up there with Saving Private Ryan and We Were Soldiers.

This is a terrific true story of an American war hero. Even though we like Mel Gibson as an actor, he is also an outstanding director as well.

If you are into war movies, this is a must see. The movie was romantic, bloody, and beautifully shot, no pun intended. Mel Gibson is at it again. This man needs to make more movies. You will not be disappointed. Go see this movie already.

Amazing what God did for this young soldier. How could anyone doubt a God after watching this movie? Dude never killed anyone, yet did ALOT during that time.

If you're a war / history buff, you need to see. I was not familiar with this story & while I had reservations going in, I'm glad that I invested the time. Not for children, although many could learn from the stance taken on personal beliefs.

I couldn't recommend a movie more than I recommend this one. This movie honestly was very emotional and gave me goosebumps. The story really touches you and gives you a sense of aww at how much someone can do with only their belief

An excellent movie that everyone in my family enjoyed! It pays tribute to a true hero and what he endured. Glad I purchased it, especially in 4K because it is so vivid.

This is a good movie not just because of the display of how horrible battles can be but includes ethics, not just religious but personal, decisions on life. Also includes a love story. A lot for Mel Gibson to fit in but he does it smoothly

Andrew Garfield really shows his acting skills in this outing and in my honest opinion i also think this is Mel Gibson's greatest directorial work

This movie was superb. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that is interested in a great movie. Its a movie that I can watch more than once or twice and still enjoy.

Great movie. Watched it on my Dolby Atmos set up and it sounds AWESOME!!!! Great spiritual message and a great life message. The story line covers so much. I’ve watched thousands of movies, if i give it 5 stars you’ll love it.

This film has intense, nonstop action. Realistic battle scenes. I like that it was based on a true story. You really get a feel for what WWII veterans experienced as young men, and a better appreciation of their service to our country.

I really enjoyed this movie a lot. I didn't know much about it before I purchased it but got it because it was recommended by several people. But if you like war/military movies that are based on true stories than this is one movie to own.

Great directing, great production, excellent portrayal of one battle in WW 2. My uncle was there, but he never wanted to talk about it...I can understand why. The Medal of Honor winner and a few comrades are shown as cameos...a nice bonus.
