The Lionsgate's 4K steelbook case of "Hacksaw Ridge" is well made with terrific artwork and includes a protective slipcover. The film quality is spectacular as is its Dolby Atmos sound. With an aspect ratio of 2.40:1, viewing on a large screen is a must. As with Lionsgate products the digital copy code is designate for either Apple TV (which includes Dolby Vision) or Vudu. Extras are "The Soul of War" a 1 hr 9 min "Making of..." documentary, "Veteran's Day Greeting" from the film's director, Mel Gibson (1 min 2 sec) and Deleted Scenes (4 min 26 sec).

The film is based on the true story of the U.S. Army soldier. USA. Desmond Doss, a Seventh-day Adventist Christian, who refused to carry weapons at the front, was mocked and persecuted and who, despite that, was decorated with the Medal of Honor by President Harry S. Truman, for having saved the lives of more than seventy-five men under constant enemy fire on the Maeda cliff during the brutal battle of Okinawa, in World War II. Mel gibson masterfully directs, it's one of the best war movies I've ever seen, the steelbook is beautiful and can't be missing from your collection

I loved this movie from the beginning through the end. It was really entertaining, intense and emotional. Mel Gibson was astonishing as a director. He directed this movie so we’ll it felt real. And this Steelbook is probably my top 5 favorite Steelbook I’ve owned. Lionsgate knocked it out of the park with this Steelbook and it’s worth getting it and especially seeing this movie on 4K. The inside artwork is amazing and the disk artwork is pretty cool ngl.

Lionsgate remains its steak of amazing 4K steelbooks with this stunning release. The slipcover and incredible artwork complement each other entirely. This is one of my favorite war films in recent memory and this steelbook is a treasured addition to any collection. The movie on its own is amazing and heartfelt. This film is definitely one the best war movie since Saving Private Ryan.

Reference in Germans of picture and sound. My whole house shook when the US climbed up Hacksaw Ridge…you have to watch the movie, otherwise is hard to write about a review about this movie. It’s a Masterpiece! The Steelbook is great and the slipcover gives it the rest!

Bought this because Best Buy wouldn't let me return a movie unless I purchased another one, even though the disc was defective. Stupid rule, but no complaints about this product.

This movie is about conscientious objector Desmond Doss. It is an excellent movie along the lines of Saving Private Ryan. It shows Desmond home life and how he became a conscientious objector, yet still risked his life as a WWII Combat Medic. He was abused by his father and the other men in his platoon. He earned their respect and a Congressional Medal of Honor when he intentionally stayed behind enemy lines over night as the rest of the men retreated. During the night he rescued 75 men by carrying them through enemy territory down an escarpment. The accurate portrayal of the events and the excellent acting and cast make this a 5-star movie. This is one of the least known stories from WWII and deserves a place in your movie library.

Awesome cinematography! The Atmos track is as well absolutely top notch. Andrew Garfield's performance is the best of his career. I had no idea what I was in for, and I'm so glad for the purchase. Don't watch with your youngest children, as this is very graphic at many points...but this doesn't take away from a great story for adults and older teens.

With "Hacksaw Ridge," director Mel Gibson has delivered what to me is the best World War II movie since "Saving Private Ryan". This film has a strong script that honors an incredible real-life story of a very brave man, a great cast, and is really well directed and executed from a film-making perspective. A real standout is actor Andrew Garfield who gives an excellent and emotional performance throughout as the main character Desmond Doss. The transfer/picture is sharp and looks great in 4K and the audio is really good and immersive as well which is very important in a war film like this. Overall, this film gets a high recommendation from me. It's definitely worth the purchase!

The most realistic depection of the blood, gore, and carnige of combat i have seen from a movie. Great story. As a veteran i can say it touches on the visual of the battlefield but falls way short of the mental effects war has on a combat solider.
