I absolutely LOVED this movie! It's a great movie based on a true story. It can be pretty gruesome at time, but overall a must see movie to get a great glimpse of the past. We bought this movie in 4K because it was on sale for Black Friday. We decided to buy it on 4K even though we don't have a 4K TV or player, but definitely will purchase one soon. I definitely recommend seeing this movie!

Based on the true story of an American hero in WWII, this film was brutally honest in the portrayal of war and the men who fight. The hero is flawed but has great faith and refuses to back down from his convictions, even in the face of beatings from the men in his own military unit. His courage under fire, his faith in action, and his undaunted willingness to lay down his life for his country will move you to tears.

People who look at this movie for entertainment only, please just don't. This is more. It is truth, even in its gore and horror. This is about war, about one man who changed and touched hundreds of lives through generations. It's about conviction and bravery in extraordinary circumstances by ordinary men (and women). It isn't meant just to "entertain," it's meant to tell a story and help us remember. Freedom isn't free.

A Must See Movie! A Great True Story About a WWII Hero! I didn’t quite know what to expect when I heard about this movie, but later found it to be a wonderful romantic and World War II true story later turned into an action packed movie. I recommend seeing this movie in the 4K - Ultra HD format as it really brings out the best in the movie!

If you love war movies like me, Hacksaw Ridge is for you. The fact it's based on actual events makes it all the more incredible. Hacksaw Ridge is a reminder of why the Greatest Generation is called such. They earned it. The battle scenes are incredible. A bit gruesome at times, but that's the true nature of war. Desmond Doss is a true American hero, and I'm so glad his story has been brought to the attention of us all.

The dvd is very sharp with great color and awesome sound especially during the war scenes. This is the true story of Desmond Doss who bravely went above and beyond the call of duty to save 75 men, and how he did it was truly amazing. This is a great movie which I am proud to have in my library. It's a tearjerker so get out those handkerchiefs. A wonderful love story that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

Like the great details on 4k, good historical war movie.

It is very hard for me to wrap my head around someone like Desmond Doss. How could ANYBODY save that many men (75 give or take) during one of the bloodiest battles of the Pacific Theater AND without a weapon? Especially after fighting like 'heck' to stay in the army as a 'conscientious objector'.....AMAZING. Andrew Garfield was amazing, Mel Gibson was amazing, and on and on and on.....all amazing. I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!

I enjoyed seeing the story depicted in this great movie

Hacksaw Ridge deserves the accolades that it received. The story is incredible and crazy to think in a time of war and anger that some redemption could come out of it. You must have a strong stomach and understanding that one it is military life and two it is during a time of war. Mel Gibson does go over the top with the graphic nature of the movie, so don't be naïve and expect anything less. The amount of broken bodies, desperation, sadness, anger, blood, anxiety, all the emotions you can imagine come into play. This movie touches you to the core. And just a reminder it is a Hollywood movie and it does have its over the top action and acting scenes. I give it thumbs up, but only watch it if you want to stomach thru it. My heart was pounding as if I was there with the main character. For a movie to do that, it was well done.

Hacksaw Ridge is truly one of the best movies I've ever seen and one of the best war movies out there. It even ranks up with Apocalypse Now. The transfer of this movie in 4K is fantastic. Even though it is only upscaled 4K it still looks so good. The colors pop out so much. The sound quality is outstanding too. One of the best storylines.

this is a very good movie, very good acting and directing.

How little do most people know what really happened in WW2 combats than what is seldom written in history about our soldiers. This is a must for all Americans to see about the struggle of a belief of one soldier, whether to carry a gun to kill for his country or to save lives. What a true story. And Mel Gibson has done a superb job in directing this masterpiece. Mel is back and has done it, again. See it!

It wasn't a terrible movie, overall worth the purchase.

Saw this in theaters when it first came out, couldn't wait to get a copy to enjoy at home! The bravery shown by the main character and what he accomplished in a real war-time situation is rarely seen or talked about nowadays. The fact that one man was able to save so many lives in such a dangerous situation is very moving and inspiring, knowing that what the movie shows actually happened in real life.

A true story of a real WW2 hero who saved about a hundred soldier's lives. Conscious objecter but who really had an impact on the war even though they didn't want to accept him because of his beliefs. I think that this movie should have won the best movie of the year because this is a masterpiece and not the one that won the Oscar. Just another Hollywood farse once again. I hope you get to see this movie.

One of the best films I have seen in years. How one person could do so much for so many is just unbelievable. The story of Desmon Doss will stay with you for many years. The sacrifices during one of the bloodiest wars of all time and the friends Private Doss made along the way were truly heart felt. A great story, a tearjerker without a doubt but a true story that will remain with you for a very long time.

This movie no Is a real 4k , but Is verte good quality

This movie reflects the strong morals some still hold strongly to. When persecuted most of us tend to collapse and give in. Hacksaw Ridge is the true story of a man that did not collapse but used his moral recollection to save the lives of many in Okinawa Japan. I wish this story wouldn't have went untold for so many years. (does show the reality of war so it's not recommended for the faint of heart)
