Originally started watching by myself and as family peeked in and started to watch they became riveted. Amazing story line, that once it caught you it didn't let go. Scenery and cinematography jumped off the screen. Mel Gibson's attention to detail came through and paid off.

Fantastic movie. Good 4K transfer. One of Andrew Garfield’s best movies. Crazy immersive war sequences even if embellished, still gets the job done and a great emotional experience.

I already had the movie but bought it as a birthday present for my brother because he likes war movies also. I like that it comes with a DVD and Bluray. The price was good also. If you are a fan of World War 2 movies then this will a nice addition to your collection.

If I didn't know that this was based on a true story I would have thought it to be too good to be true. He was real and was so modest that he wouldn't let his story be told while he was still alive. Mel Gibson did a wonderful job telling his story. And it looks great in 4K.

Based upon a true story. The acting and directing is SUPERB. The special effects are second to none. Ultra accurate from a historical perspective (props, clothing, etc.) A number of scenes in this movie remind me of Saving Private Ryan. I strongly recommend this movie.

Saw this movie when it first came out on regular Blu-ray and thought it was awesome. The picture was great and the audio was outstanding. I decided to get it on 4K and boy oh boy both the audio and picture are outstanding. There is a huge increase in detail and clarity from what I remember from the regular Blu-ray. The Hdr has some excellent specular highlights with richer colors. I am totally happy I picked it up on 4K definitely a demo worthy film.

Very good real-life story of one-man convictions and faith that he kept. Good in-personal accounts of this World War II Veteran and Medal of Honor recipient.

After looking at this movie, there's plenty of action to see. A detailed perspective of a WWII soldier enlisting in the US Army, as a noncombatant, and his bravery.

Yes, this is a war movie. Yes, it is quite graphic. BUT this movie is also almost Hallmark-like because of the nature of the storyline. Although it may not be suitable for those with weak stomachs or for small children, it may be quite passable as a 'date' movie.

I didn't know what to expect from this--I guess what you could call--faith-based movie. A lot of times they are low budget and it shows. I don't think it was low-budget but I did like the storyline (especially since it was based on a true story) and the cinematography. Although the war scenes were graphic, I would assume that war is not pretty and it definitely got that point across. The effects were superb. I thought the acting was good. And I like the fact that you get both a Blu-ray Disc and a regular DVD.

Plenty of action and war related mayhem, but an outstanding performance by the lead actor, and Mel Gibson never disappoints in the directors chair. Snubbed at the Oscars in favor of La La Land with typical Hollywood nonsense, This film is a MUST HAVE for your collection!

This movie is great! Loved the acting and the plot! It can be a little gory for younger audiences especially but I found it extremely realistic which added to the movie. I saw it twice in theaters and bought it as soon as it came out on DVD! It's a great action movie!

This was the best war film since The Thin Red Line. This was the best movie to come out in years. One of the best films to come out in the last decade. The fact it didn't win best picture and Mel didn't win best director just shows how big of a load the Oscars really are.

This is one of the best WW IIMovies I have seen, and I have watched a lot of them. One man's courage to stand up for his faith/beliefs, sometimes bringing the wrath of others. In the end, every man was glad he was there for them. He even saved the lives of some Japanese.

This movie tells the true story of a man who wanted to serve in WW II but not use a weapon. He went on to win the Medal Of Honor for his exploits on Okinawa, the most savage land battle of the Pacific war. Another great job by Mel Gibson, reminiscent of We Were Soldiers.

This is a moving story that everyone must see. Through tragedy and pain, a young man becomes a hero in the most inexplicable ways. Forging a path of hope and strength, through a war of epic proportions, a man finds strength of character and love all without firing a gun.

Hacksaw Ridge delivers on an incredible story of bravery of a young man who would not betray his faith, beliefs, and values while serving his nation with distinction, gallantry, and incredible heroism. It is a story for the ages and we could all learn much from it.

The character back ground setup and historical revaluations are impressively done. Each cast member met their role perfectly. A must see movie for anyone that wants to relive/understand the individual sacrifices given freely to make our country great and to be proud of.

Hacksaw Ridge is one of the best war films that I have seen. My wife and I saw the movie in the theater and now purchased it. Excellent acting, excellent true story and a horrific and real depiction of war. Captivating movie from beginning to end, I highly recommend it.

I think Mel Gibson is a good director and has the ability to bring a story to life. Though war movies are not happy tales, they make you appreciate how we do not have to be in the midst of a war zone. The service people who go into a war should be appreciated more.
