One of the better war films,I put it on a level of "saving Private Ryan". Worth watching, realistic war scenes, so if you have a problem with blood and gore, pick a Disney movie. This one isn't for the weak of heart.

Is different but good movie based off a solider who was opposed to having a gun but was hero in end saving people

The movie, which is a true story, does an exceptional job of capturing the heroics of Private Doss, a non-combatant whose character, devotion to duty, and courage/bravery earned him the Congressional Medal of Honor.

I really enjoyed the story (it is a true story) the action was great but it was a side note, just added entertainment to help you really get into and feel what the main hero was going through in his life and the war.

As with all of Mel Gibson movies, this one is an excellent movie. It moves in a logical order and the cinematography is outstanding. A lost story that has been brought to light. A true hero in terrible circumstances.

This is one of the best faith based war movies. Love the conviction demonstrated to stay true and trust in God for answers and courage in the faces of the most impossible odds. Had to own it in 4K.

A fantastic story of heroism that rivals Audie Murphy or Sgt. York. This is a story that is well deserving of being told and will make you realize why this was the greatest generation. What an amazing individual. A+

No matter what you cant take it away that Mel Gibson knows how to direct a movie.....this is his best to date and I know there will be more yet! Gotta add this one to your collection with "passion" etc........

Great film and action. 4K upgrade from my Blu-ray copy was well worth it. Fantastic story of over coming the odds and perseverance. Well acted and directed.

Mel Gibson really outdid himself with this movie. I hope the family of this man feels the same. The emotional outpouring this movie provoked will stay with me. Never heard a more amazing story of bravery and heroics

One of the best films I have seen this year. That this was a true story, done with class, made the film more enjoyable. What an amazing story. As a retired member of the U.S. forces, I was truly inspired by film.

A great movie about an all too often forgotten era. I am surprised at the display of patriotism and love of country while holding onto your values in the face of so much resistance. A great message for our time.

This movie will captivate you from the start it's a real life story about a young man and his religious beliefs. His daily walk with God. Standing up for what he believes in no matter what the person's cost to him.

This movie was great, showed the nasty side of war but also that a solider can stick to his guns and yet be helpful without having to fire a weapon. Everything about the story, the action and feelings were amazing!

I've been recommended clips on youtube for a while now and finally saw this. Its freaking good. Andrew Garfield was a bad Spider-Man, but he's a good soldier lol

Even if you don't like history, this movie appeals to anyone who likes family dynamics, moral courage, and perseverance of the human spirit in the worst circumstances. Thought provoking and touching, a great movie!

Always thought so little of this movie but seeing Andrew Garfield play a war vet hero and have the story told from beginning to end, just amazed me on how good the movie is along with the acting.

True story of Pfc Desmond T Doss, who won Congressional Medal of Honor, even though he would never pick up gun and fire a round...in WW2. How a pacifist becomes a war hero, as good as Hollywood can represent it.

What a masterpiece. Great story and actors. Consists of WWII story lines, romance and family settings, as well as a glimpse into the morals and personal values of a common WWII solider. Buying to re-watch.

I knew this was a true story of a soldier during WW II. What I didn't know was how amazing a story this really is. This young man had a truly original story to tell. The movie is very realistic and very well done.
