Been a fan of war based films, this one is one more to like. The film is one of the best I have seen and I'll recommend anyone to watch it.

Great movie of a real life story, of an American hero. I also thought the war scenes ghastly and devastating, but an uplisting story courage.

Mel Gibson has more than redeemed himself with this movie about a conscientious objector that is extremely well executed under his direction.

I expected the movie to be good and it delivered. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's one of the best war movies made. But it is a must watch.

I remember reading the story of this gentleman years ago and wondered how long before it was made into a movie. It's a great story of heroism.
