Great movie of a real life story, of an American hero. I also thought the war scenes ghastly and devastating, but an uplisting story courage.

Mel Gibson has more than redeemed himself with this movie about a conscientious objector that is extremely well executed under his direction.

I expected the movie to be good and it delivered. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's one of the best war movies made. But it is a must watch.

Great story based on an actual happening. I'm sure the star character was a true hero. I think some the action was embellished more than it needed to be and bordered on the impossible. Even 1/2 of what was portrayed would have been truly heroic. Overall very entertaining movie. Good balance of story line and action.

You can really feel the work of GOD in this movie. It makes believers out of Non believers in this movie. Very action packed, a little Gorey.
