I think HALLOWEEN has been around so long that nothing new can be said about it. It is a classic and shall forever be. I was a senior in high school when it came out. It has forever changed the Halloween season for me. I cannot imagine Halloween without HALLOWEEN. I think it has a lot more meaning for us "older" kids. Just like DAWN OF THE DEAD, FRIDAY THE 13th, CARRIE, and my personal favorite, THE SHINING. they were all pioneer movies. The music and the mood of these films will never be matched, copied, yes. I highly recommend all five of these movies. There are alot of other decent horror movies out also, but if I want to "go back in time", I just pop in one of these and let the memories & goosebumps start.

The most classic of all time, John Carpenter and no idea what he was getting himself into when he decided to make this with him then time girlfriend/Producer Debra Hill. Acting - Great debut from Jamie Lee Cutis, with her parents we all know she was destined to be a star. Tremendous appearance from Donald Pleasence. Also good supporting roles from P.J Soles and Nancy Loomis. Story - Michael Myers escapes from a mental institution, one night he decides to go trick ot treating on Halloween but not after candy after 17 year old girls with a butcher knife. John Carpenter has done some great work such as the fog, the thing, vampires but no one not even himself can beat the masterpiece that is Halloween

It's a real testament to the skills behind the camera that this now over-familiar, much imitated seminal psycho killer on the loose movie still manages to scare the Bejesus out of you. But that's why 'Halloween' is the granddaddy of these kind of movies - spare, lean, intense, surprisingly subtle and remarkably atmospheric. Carpenter takes his time setting the scene so when the night falls, we're in for one of the most frightening film experiences you could possibly imagine. The film has never looked better on Blu-ray - beautifully crisp - and the 5.1 surround sound mix is stunning.

I grew up with this film in its various incarnations on home video. And, yes, i probably own it in practically every format. But this version really packs a punch. It is really spectacular to see the crisp images from such a gritty film. You would never know this movie is now 30 years old by the Blu-ray transfer. The only element that was somewhat disappointing is that I noticed the audio dropping out occasionally, probably due to imperfections from the original mono source. Otherwise, you will find new details in this film that you never noticed before on this great hi-def version!!!

A classic horror movie and the blu ray is worth the money

The greatest horror film of all time! Scary, suspenseful, and viscerally thrilling, simply said Halloween set the standard for every modern horror film that has followed it...Pleasence is great in what was probably the definitive role of his career; Jamie Lee Curtis, in her motion picture debut, became a bona fide scream queen after acting in "Halloween" as well as a few subsequent slasher pictures, and she is an intended victim worth rooting for. Its fantastic, John Carpenters finest hour!

This is probably my favorite horror movie of all time! It's amazing how great this movie was on a $325,00 budget (which even back then was extremely low)! I can't find any problems with this film. The 4k remaster is also great, so I recommend it for anyone wanting to watch this movie!

I loved this movie from the day it was released back in the 70's. I bought this dvd just to give as a gift to the people who were going to see the new remake with me and they loved it and had lots of appreciation for John Carpenter and Deborah Hill the director/producer of this classic movie. There is not alot of gore or blood in the movie it leaves alot to your imagination. You will love it if you have not already seen it. "its halloween....everyone deserves a good scare!"

This is the greatest horror film of all time. It is very scary. Michael Myers will give you the creeps. This is a great movie because this is a story that could truly happen. That is why it gives you the creeps. Alot of horror movies are fake and could never happen, but as in this movie there could be a serial killer who on Halloween puts on a mask and starts killing people. This is by far the best of the Halloween movies ever made and this is a great price

10/10 service. Order came a couple days earlier than expected. All correct Blu-Rays, no damage or any issues at all. Wish I could give more than a 10/10 so have a 100/100. Will be ordering again for my Blu-Ray collection.

Quite possibly the greatest horror movie ever made. Souly responsible for the slasher genre of the late 70s and 80s. Simply horrifying with very little gore but Michael Myers is now a true horror icon. When I saw this movie in the theatre there were litterally people jumping out of their seats in terror. Other than the Universal Classics like The Wolfman, Frankenstein, The Mummy, and Dracula this is the best of the best.

Classis slasher has never looked better. This remastered version is sharper than the prior blu-ray release and still maintains some grain/filmic look. Of course the series is headed to blu-ray in one complete package with this version of Halloween so hardcore fans should look there for all of the releases. Cannot recommend enough.

As a fan I normally do not click all five stars. Here I do with great satisfaction! This is most likely one of the top 5 horror films of all time. John Carpenter struck gold on this. We watch it every Halloween, and it still gets us and always makes you look around for Michael and that mask! Buy this, Rent This, but see it for sure. It is the best!

This is still a great movie. They did a really good job with the Blu-ray updates on this. Also the packaging is really cool it comes in a digibook & has all kinds of set photos in it. I would definitely recommend this to any horror fan this is a must have.

"Halloween" is one of the most famous horror films ever made. It has great acting, a great story, and creepy-as-heck moments throughout! This movie is totally recommended to fans of the horror genre, people who don't like horror films might even like this too! I totally recommend buying this product, it's worth every penny!

Great commentary & other influences that made this movie so powerful. The commentary alone makes this worth watching. I've seen the movie many times, but the commentary was the cherry on top!! Who knew the house had been cleaned up for the opening sequence, but was in disrepair for the rest of the movie?? See this!

There's few horror movies that are actually scary, but Halloween manages to frighten the audience. Perfect to watch on Halloween, but also great on any other night.

After all thses years Halloween still holds up.This movie still at my age still manages to give me chills because of how great the directing by John Carpenter and a good performance by one of the Queens of Scream Jamie Lee Curtis.For those who haven`t seen it,it still is not to late.WATCH IT.

I can't say much more about this excellent film that hasn't already been said but if you are one of the very few that hasn't checked out this amazing film yet that has aged like a fine wine, then the new remastered blu-ray is the perfect way to do just that.

I'm sure I am not the only one who loves this movie. The restored version is great, but I would love to see a 2 disc definitve dvd in the future, including all the great versions and documentaries of the past
