A great release of a seminal slasher flick. Looks great as expected.

Great movie !!!!! The halloween franchise has always been my favorite.

Classic slasher movie that started it all, seems short by today's standards

This is one of my all time favorite Halloween movies. It's a horror movie classic for the ages. It was made on a low budget but all the money was spent on filming equipment leaving very little in special effects. With that said there is very little blood or gore. There is some brief partial nudity so if that bothers you then I don't recommend you watch it. I own this movie in all forms and just recently purchased it as a download for my iPad.

This review is about the steelbook and not the film. It's a really cool design and well thought out. Definitely, it's one of the better ones out there. As for the disc. Nothing special or new from previous releases. But, that's alright since this item is for those that haven't gotten a chance to buy the original Halloween on Blu Ray or 4K. As for the price. It's well worth it.

Amazing transfer. I've purchased all the Halloween 4k's released thus far and this one has by far, has the best video/sound. The previous transfer put out by Lionsgate was extremely pale looking. You would not regret buying this release or any of the other Halloween sequels put out by Shout Factory.

Halloween is a film that was released all the way back in 1978, and is often considered a classic. I however, just saw this film in 2018. All in all, I feel this movie holds up fairly well. Suspension is probably this film's strongest suit. The music used in the film is perfectly crafted to the atmosphere and can definitely give one chills. Due to the age of the film, some scenes can come off as a bit cheesy. Despite those scenes, I definitely enjoyed Halloween, and I believe every slasher movie fan should at least view it once. In addition to the movie, this copy of Halloween comes with a small paper back book that gives insight to the production of the film. I found the book to be very interesting. This version also has a fair amount of special features (which I have admittedly not looked into yet). Overall, this Blu-ray is a great way to watch the film.

My favorite Halloween mover ever! The remastering was well done, brought a lot more colors out and made it look visually the best it has ever been. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos works great for a movie shot in the 70’s. Has film grain and the soundtrack is awesome. One of those movies you watch every year around Halloween.

This Steelbook is a very nice addition to my collection. The movie speaks for itself. If you’re a ‘Halloween’ fan, this is a great edition to get. The Steelbook has a “fall” vibe to it, has great artwork, and even comes with a clear slipcover, which I think is a nice touch as it will help prevent as many scratches as Steelbooks are accustomed to getting.

I'm a huge fan of horror movies I've been a fan of horror when I was growing up. Now this movie was made a year later before I was born. I used to be scared of horror movies when I was about 10 while growing up started to like to watch various of horrors. This one is one of my favorite movie and I am a huge fan of Halloween every Halloween to watch other movies as well.

great movie, good music. the story behind the leaves is cool

Easily my favorite horror film. I'll spare you the long review and just say that everything about the movie works absolutely perfectly. Michael Myers is the ultimate movie monster, a man who is pretty much evil personified. Carpenter's iconic score is used to brilliant effect as well. It's the quintessential slasher, and stands as one of the most finely-crafted pieces of horror cinema ever. The 35th Anniversary Blu-ray was worth the purchase.

Haven't check out the bluRay yet, but just remember how good it was!

This new 4K treatment to John Carpenter’s film is definite improvement over the previous transfer. Colors are more varied and naturalistic eliminating the monochrome yellow tint of the previous edition. Details are excellent in brighter scenes, and the contrast is beautiful improved throughout! Definitely recommended!

Another 4K, remastered release of the classic. Here's hoping they got it right this time. The picture is phenomenal (just like the last 4K release) and the Atmos mix is very well done (not gimmicky at all). The upgraded sound is awesome but I don't know that it makes it worth purchasing the movie again...although I did...

The 4K transfer on this is extremely impressive. A+ work, guys.

Love John carpenter movies and this is one of the classics.

I love all the Collectors Editions Best Buy gets.I was hopin all of em would come back in stock but when the first one did, I snatched me one up.I also got mine for like 20 bucks cause it was on sale an I had a coupon I used.Its probably the best release of this movie there'll ever be!

The 4k transfer is amazing! Deep blacks, colors pop. Sound is incredible! Carpenter's score never sounded more hauntingly. The real treasure in this issue is the steelbook. I own this movie 10 times over and had to have that steelbook...its beautiful! Just pick it up in store though, shipping sucks and have damaged every steelbook I've ordered from Best Buy.

Wow what a amazing steel book. Halloween a true classic. Looks fantastic in 4k. Michael Myers my favorite character. Halloween is a true masterpiece. From the amazing score to the cinematography. John carpenter is a true master of the craft. Often imitated but never has anyone come close to the original Halloween. Remember one thing you cant kill the bogeyman!
