Let's face it: nothing will ever come remotely close to or top John Carpenter's original 1978 "Halloween" film. But after a string of disastrous sequels and wretched Rob Zombie remakes, this "Halloween" was a breath of fresh, scary air. David Gordon Green and Danny McBride come from a comedy background, so it was remarkable that they pulled off this feat of making such a thrilling, very well-made film. Of course, it helped that they had the Master -- John Carpenter himself -- on board to supervise the production and to compose the music. Carpenter was the missing ingredient from all those other awful movies, and his presence here made it work. And of course, Jamie Lee Curtis gives a terrific, rip-roaring performance as a traumatized, haunted Laurie Strode. Fine supporting cast as well.

It's not a great movie but if you liked the others you'll like this one.

This was one of the better Halloween movies. Nice to see Jamie Lee back.

I didn't know what to make of this movie at 1st but it was surprisingly good.
