To say I love Halloween is an understatement. I own so many copies of this brilliant film its insane lol. So when I saw this beauty go up for preorder, of course it had to be mine. In stunning 4k, this film has never looked better. My all time favorite film and just an essential horror title that is immortal

This is my all-time favorite film. That said, it's also never looked better. They did a great job with the 4k presentation (though the daytime scenes are definitely a bit more stark than I remember, in terms of color timing). Still, highly recommended. NOTE: the Blu-ray included is the 2007 version, not the highly superior (Dean Cundy-supervised) 35th anniversary transfer.

Halloween 2018 was already released on 4k, but if you’re a Halloween completest these new shout factory first 5 Halloween films are a must. Look great loaded with extras. Look for the rest of the movies (6,7,8) coming to 4k coming soon!

I have not seen the 4k transfer, but this one is very good. The images have been cleaned up very well. If you have the dvd you need to upgrade to the blu. Details are very good, and black levels are very good to. This is one of those movies that revolutionized horror movies. Definitely very influential in cinema and pop culture.

The art on this steelbook really captures the look and feel of this movie. Its haunting and beautiful at the same time. I love that it comes with a clear plastic slipcover with all the details and titles so that the actual steelbook is all artwork!

It's still considered one the greatest horror films ever made. I can see why. Dramatic jumps, unexpected illusions. Halloween is the dawn of the new horror storytelling when it debuted. It practically changed the horror genre forever. Still gets me in the mood every season to watch this along with other classic John Carpenter films (The Thing, The Fog). This should be in everyone's movie collection.

This brought the slasher/horror genre to a new level setting the genre up for the 80's. I was bored with it as a kid, I was used to more gore and shock moments in the genre, saw the cockroach scene in Nightmare on Elm Street 4 at 4 and the shotgun blast in Return of the Living Dead 2 at 3, but have come to accept this as a great. Music, mood, atmosphere, all there. Blu-ray has all the extras at least I think are a good bonus.

No joke. All the horror films that have been released since Halloween, and even before. I still haven't seen a film that has given me that unsettling feeling that Halloween gave me. Of course there are films that have the great jump scares, those are dime a dozen. But Halloween, Halloween is the perfect horror film. The atmosphere, the feeling of dread. I could go on and on, but I'm sure you already know.

Halloween has such a massive reputation that you will likely already like it in order to contemplate buying this edition. To date this is the best that we could have asked for. The quality of the picture is great, and the special features are loaded with great side features. The bottom line is that if you want one ultimate Halloween edition with the best goodies then this is what you are after.

One of my favorite and the original 1978 version is indeed my favorite! Love the 4K transfer, at least what material that can be converted from the 70’s! Day scenes definitely have more to show off, but Michael only strikes at night! The intro music still gets to me and I love it! Thank you, Best Buy!

An absolutely terrifying masterpiece of horror cinema, John Carpenter's 'Halloween' remains my favorite horror movie of all time. This release importantly includes DVD commentary featuring Carpenter, Debra Hill, and Jamie Lee Curtis, among others. A must-see for any self-proclaimed horror fan.

An amazing item for the steelbook collector! This review is for the Best Buy Exclusive 4K UHD steelbook, which also finally adds the HD Digital copy! John Carpenter's classic has returned (again) but this time in pristine quality. The steelbook is beautiful! Great purchase and HIGHLY recommended!!!

What a true gem of a movie. Its amazing. The video quality, the sounds, just the overall crispness of the way it looks, as if it was recorded a couple of years ago. Dolby Atmos is incredible. 4K is the way of the future.

The best way to watch this classic is on this 4K disc. The picture quality is much better than the previous standard 4K release, I ended up selling that copy. The packaging is also a stand out on this release. Must have for fans of this franchise.

I love the new Steelbook 4K for Halloween 1978. The artwork is amazing but what made me even more excited was the fact that the steelbook bluray came with a clear slipcover! It's not often that a steelbook comes with a slipcover but it's an amazing slip. Super super satisfied with this purchase!

I love 'Halloween'. It's my favorite movie to watch this time of year. The movie itself looks terrific, but this steelbook looks amazing. It's much better looking than it appears on the site. If you love the movie and appreciate a nice looking steelbook then you'll love this. Money well spent.

The movie of course is great, but was it worth upgrading from DVD to 4K? Not really. All the extra grain you see takes away from whatever added sharpness there is. Still a great movie none the less and worth watching.

A classic that started the slasher film genre. Everything that followed just can’t compare to Carpenter’s film. Yes it may be dated but if you look beside that this film was origami and scary for the time. Too bad the following sequels could t live up; Halloween 2018 was pretty good though.

The movie that started the Halloween franchise and introduced us to one of the evilest villains ever; Michael Myers! Trick or Treating would never be the same. Awesome 4K release in an eerie collectible Steelbook featuring Michael in his dreaded mask and JLC as beautiful as ever.

A-rouuuunnnnnd! Easily my favorite movie. If you’re thinking to yourself “but I’ve bought this on dvd and bluray”, I completely understand. This is, however, a noticeable upgrade from the bluray, fixes past issues with darkness levels, and keeps the features from the previous anchor bay release.
