My kids love it for their toasty waffles and French toast

It is OK...but I’d rather have my 65 year old (or more) Toast Master toaster back. This one burns one side of the toast while the other side is what I set it at. My Toast Master worked great....it just quit after all these years!

I ordered the 4-slice Hamilton Beach toaster because it seemed to be the same exact model of the toaster I was replacing, which was at least 10 yrs old. I was totally happy with my old HB toaster except that my family had gone through a phase of toasting cinnamon bread, resulting in gooey sugar and cinnamon coating two of the slots. Meanwhile, the other two slots, which we hadn't used as often, stopped working. I replaced it thinking, "How nice that Hamilton Beach is still producing the same toaster, because why ruin a good thing?" (DeLonghi coffee maker, I'm talking to you!! )   Anyway, the new HB toaster is much flimsier than the old one. Maybe this saves on natural resources, so that's OK. But the slots for the toast/bagels are much shorter than in the old toaster (about 0.25 inch shorter), so the bread slices barely just fit. The crumb trays are also much tinier & a few inches narrower than the trays in the old toaster, plus instead of being located under the controls, they're on the other side of the toaster, which are near the wall in our kitchen, so we have to move the toaster to pull them out. Finally, and worst of all, after having to jam the bread into the slot, it only toasts on one side, as if the Bagel button had been pressed (but the Bagel button is NOT lit up, so I haven't accidentally pressed it). As a result, all of our toast is only half toasted, on one side. I was going to return, but apparently the return period is less than a month after ordering the product!!

Sub par toaster but for the price, you won't find much better. All the heating coils didn't work right out of the box making for uneven toasting.

I like it, but for some reason I feel your bread gets burned even in low toast option, so I usually keep it in the lowest setting for the toasting level.

This was the least expensive 4 slice toaster I could find. Doesn’t brown evenly but still edible. You get what you pay for.

When it worked it was nice but that was less then a year! Seems to be that way with all the Hamilton Beach products.

Haven’t taken out of box yet. Bought it for my daughter who is moving this weeken

Still learning all the different settings for a simple toaster.

Very disappointed in this product. Bought it in November of 2020 and the past 6 months or so, this toaster hasn’t been toasting properly. Toasts dark on one side and barely golden brown on the other ( sometimes very dark, burnt). We have tried every setting but nothing works. Bagel selection just as bad. VERY VERY disappointed.

Really bad product. Please don’t get this. It’s cheap and bad.

Unit failed in less than 60 days, not the quality i've come to expect from Hamilton beach. Do not expect quality customer service from Hamilton Beach. Currently 3+ weeks of emails (since call center is down) and still no working toaster. I'm a family of 2 not 3 kids and constant use. Very disappointed.

For a $40 toaster, I expect that it would toast bread etc evenly on both sides. Unfortunatlly, this toaster does not toast evenly and leaves one side toasted and the other semi toasted. Next time I'll just buy the cheaper toaster rather than this Hamilton Beach toaster.
