Just rinse out secondary filter and there won't be any overflow issues. I discovered that after a couple weeks of use. I grind my own coffee to slightly coarser than store bought ground.

Now I get up and make myself a cup then set it up with decaf for my wife when she gets up. Simple! Makes good coffee, too! I also love the Mr Coffee "cafe barista" espresso-cappuccino-latte maker. It's the world's most underrated espresso maker, and it's priced affordibly.

The second unit gave us about 2 years of excellent service. We like not having to make a large pot of coffee because everyone in this house likes a different type of coffee. Two years. That's it! It just died this morning. I can no longer recommend this little coffee maker as its lifespan is too short.

Cons: I'll put in a full cup of water before use, yet the coffee cup only gets about 2/3 to 3/4 full (no idea where the rest of the water goes).

Makes good coffee but messy to use. Have to clean 2 filters very time and when it finishes brewing it spurts out drops of coffee on the counter making a mess. went back to my $10 coffee maker. would not recommend.

Worst tasting coffee ever!!

Tried cleaning it with white vinegar with water, ran it though a dozen times and the thing still has a plastic taste. Too bad because I like the design. But yuck!!

I asked Bestbuy for warranty, but the vendor (Hamilton Beach) doesn't give them permission to provide service. The shipment cost to send to and receive from manufacturer would be around the price of product, so buy GeekSquad protection on it, or simply forget Hamilton Beach.
