This disk does not play the movie at all! I don't think it's worthwhile to buy more disks at Best Buy...

Objective Observer to entire series

Out of all of the movies so far, I thought the actors did the best job in this particular movie. My favorite part of the movie I thought was how they explained the deathly hallows... it was brilliant. I noticed in the credits that Rowling was a producer for this movie which I had to look up in IMDB to verify that she is indeed a producer for the first time for this movie and the upcoming movie which explains why this movie I think reflects more on her work of the books which are like nothing you have read before.
The books tell you more not just about the story of Harry Potter but of the relationships between all of the characters that grows more mature as the storyline progresses. I like this move a lot because the movie is the darkest in the series and the characters do a fine job of acting which at times you wondered if they were even trying in past movies. I kind of wished that JK Rowling had stepped up and taken more of a leadership role for some of the movies in the middle of the saga instead at the end... but we can't go back in time and I'm pretty happy how one of the last movies was made and hope the ending is even better.

Best and most Faithful Harry Potter

I have been with the Harry Potter novels since they first came out in 98 over here in America. They bewitched me from the beginning like they have billions of people. The movies have done the same. Some have been more faithful than others yes...but when you consider that it takes alot of money just to make a certain scene and alot of time to do that scene that we may miss you count the two as separate titles and understand that its just an adaptation. BUT Deathly Hallows part 1 delivered like they said it would, the few tiny things they left out were not even noticeable because the things they left in were top notch acting that certainly is going to bring a BANG and exciting final bow next July. But this franchise is one for the ages. It may be ending but wont be forgotten.

Of course being a Harry Potter film this is gonna be good! This stuck to the book much more than the previous and was wonderfully acted out. I saw this with a couple buddies at the midnight and it was GREAT! I cannot wait to own this and waiting for the last one to come out. This totally builds up to the last one! Definitely gotta pick this up!

Saw it just after it was released in theaters and was amazed at how good a job they did at making it accurate to the book. I went a second time to see it at the IMAX Dome Theater in Milwaukee, WI and thought it was even better than the first time I saw it. Especially since it was amped up by the picture and sound :) Probably the best movie out of all of them in my opinion. Really excited to own it! And I can't wait to see Part 2!

Great movie...so, so 3D

Just watched most of this movie in 3d after watching part 2 yesterday in 3d (I watched part 1 on regular blu ray the day before). The 3d actually was better in this movie which is surprising since it wasn't even released into theaters in 3d. After watching a movie like Pirates of the Carribean that was filmed in 3d, you can tell this movie wasn't, but for the sale price of only being a few dollars more than the regular blu ray, if you don't already have it, then it's a good buy, if you do have it, then you aren't missing a lot by not buying it. As for the movie itself, it's a Harry Potter movie...what else needs said?

3D not great

While I love the Harry Potter movies this one included, I felt the 3D of this movie fell short. The 3D aspects of this movie were not that great and not that many 3D scenes. Again this is just my opinion.
I feel that most 3D movies that were not filmed with 3D seem to just fall short and aren't much better than the standard Blu-Ray version. There is an exception however, that goes for animated movies. 3D animated films by for example Dreamworks are simply amazing and really show off the capibilities of 3D.

Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy
Posted .

So I've ordered two copies of this during all the sales. One came in a DVD case inside of a cardboard jacket that clearly listed on it "Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy". Inside are 3 Disks. One has the movie on Blu-Ray, another the movie on DVD, and the final disk has all the extras. Also inside is a piece of paper with a code to enter into wbdigitalcopy.com for the digial copy of the film in either Itunes or Windows Media formats. I went to the website and it states the extension to redeem this code has been extended until 3/13/13.
Now the second copy came in just the DVD case. It had no jacket or stickers stating anything about the DVD or Digital copies. The case itself is identical to the other copy, down to the barcode. When I shake this case, I can hear the insert rattle around inside of it that holds the extra disks. It also is as heavy as the first one I purchased.
So, I have no idea what is exactly in this case. It clearly has the insert to hold more than one disk. What is in there is anyone's guess. Maybe the extras are on a second disk inside of it. If anyone owns one of these and cares to comment I'd appreciate it.

I already own this on blu-ray since we now have a 3d tv and player decided to purchase part 1-2,that was not a really good idea the 3d in this movie was really non existing, only a couple of times in like faraway shots, but like when the snake was attacking when you would you should get the 3d effect it was'nt,if you're gonna buy this for the 3d don't bother it's not very good.

Problem with BluRay copy of DVD

Movie was as expected.
However, my BluRay DVD froze in Chapter 18 around 1:13 or so. while being played on my Samsung DVD player. Had to change to DVD version to finish the movie. Later tried it on my computer with the same results. This time I forwarded to Chapter 19 to continue playing the movie. Wonder if anyone else has had this problem.

I liked this movie far better than the half blood prince.
the only problem i have with it is that there is almost no special features and i made the mistake of opening it before realizing it
and now that it's opened i can't exchange it for a better version.
so while the movie itself is very good i can't recommed this
cheaper version of it.

Everyone knows that this movie is the amazing finally to the decade-in-the-making Harry Potter series. It delivers most of what you would expect, though it's difficult to meet the expectations of a such a long and engaging series. Much more geared for a more adult audience as compared to some of the earlier movies.

Excellent Movie in 3D for the First Time

Interestingly enough, part 1 of Deathly Hallows did not go through the theaters in 3D, but looks fantastic here on the Blu-ray 3D. Although a bit slow movie in a few places (to enhance the dramatic effect), it very effectively sets the stage for the final battle.

This movie is a 100% must for all HP fans. The acting, cinematography, story, and everything else was marvelous. I do wish that they would have put a few more extras on the dvd but then how would they sell the special editions I suppose?

This movie is really good. It is dark and I would recommend that parents watch it before they let little ones see it. I think they did a good job adapting the book to film. That being said...the books are always better!

I was never a big Harry Potter fan when the movies first came out, but my daughter got me interested and now, I am a huge fan. Great acting for the most part, wonderful cinematography and great special effects and storyline. 3D made it even more awesome! Since most all of the films are budget priced now (even Blu-Ray), pick them all up!

Poor 3-D quality

This is an excellent film, however, it was "converted" to 3-D and not photographed stereoscopically. There were moments where the 3-D effect was decent, but more times IMO, if fell short.
