    Simple, works just fine

Works great in Win7 x64 Media Center. Worked right out of box. Count on needing a "real" antenna in most locations (not what comes in the box...) Frees up space inside cramped mini tower, which in my case was running quite hot - so more circulation room was better.

This was a low priced easy to install product that did what it said it would do! I have several older (and more expensive) TV to PC solutions, but this is the only one that works with HDTV. I called the manufacture with a question and they answered it quickly.

I love the TV on my Desk Top

I had a TV on my old computer, and didn't want to go without one. The dealer no longer offered this for my new computer. This is on a desktop, not a laptop, and it is working great. And Yes, I would get it again. It is so much easier to have the TV this way in my office.

    BETTER Than TiVo!!!!! No Fee's

Best thing I ever bought. Records my Cable (Set top box) HD programming. No TiVo fee's. I can record an HD show and with my HD TV, I can watch TV on my HD Antenna or watch a show I recorded. Skipping pesky commercials :) It does not include an IR R/T which it needs to change the channel to record what you program.

3 laptops...two Toshibas and 1 Sager gaming laptop with qualifications to the max. All run Windows 7 Ultimate. That being said...I tried two 950Q's out of box. They will not work on these machines. No channels are found. I tried every cable outlet in the house...all were live. I tried different cables also. I upgraded the software from Hauppauge's site....called customer service who had no answer..... So that is my experience. I sure would of liked this to work and gave it my best shot. So no I do not suggest anyone go through this.

I bought this from Best Buy 2 weeks ago and used it as a capture device for transferring Video8 to mpg video. It worked well, minus a few glitches. When I started using the features, TV and hooking up a game console- the card failed miserably. The features are great but they don't work as intended! Using a VCR and an analog signal I had no problems. When I connected an Xbox there was a delay in the video that made playing impossible. Stick movements would show up 4 seconds later... So I contacted support. They told me to upgrade to the new version WinTV 7 1.3a because it had game mode, which removed the delay. I upgraded, enabled game mode and the card would lock up. I went to the Hauppauge forums and asked for help. MrX said he'd get me a patch for WinTV 7 so it would work. I waited and never heard from him again. Then I plugged it into the Satellite, DirectTV, and the card kept locking up. It would work for 10 to 20 seconds then freeze. I'd have to close Win TV 7, remove the 950Q, plug in the 950Q, restart Win TV 7 and again it would work for 10 to 20 seconds. But it still works with the VCR in analog! On a hunch I went back to my old software, 1.2 Win TV 7 but it still failed under the same conditions. After further investigating I found many other 950Q owners are having the same issues as me, unresolved. All of it is right there on the Hauppauge forum for anyone to see. I encourage everyone interested in this card to reconsider another option, whatever it may be because this is a lemon. The software and the card are attractive, features are fantastic too, but when the two don't work together it becomes frustrating. I wouldn't wish this type of frustration on anyone. Get something else! Also, the "credit card remote" fits in a PC Card slot only. Not an express card slot like most all new laptops have.

Do not buy this!! I bought this in April 2012 and have nothing but hassles with it since (now 10/12). It has constantly frozen up, cannot tune over the air stations and has had to be reinstalled multiple times. I just purchased a new Dell with 8 GB RAM 3210 CPU and it still does not work. It finally totally died tonight and cannot find any cable stations or tune in antenna stations. I am tired of reinstalling it. Do not buy this piece of junk!!

there is a problem with compatability so don't bother buying this until Windows has the bugs out of Windows 7. It looks like the perfect solution to our television recording but won't work on our computers because we have too much memory. WHAT? Found it to be a common problem among other people with the item. Not the tuners fault, just another Windows bug.

First the software security wont allow it to be installed unless the cd is in a dirve on the system you are installing it on!! it says PC, Netbook, or Laptop right on the box!! I tried to install it on a netbook and from a flashdrive since my netbook does not have a optical drive and I get a error "NETBOOK DETECTED CONTACT SUPPORT" what is this? so I searched the Net about the error and found you must have the cd in a drive to install the software but for some reason netbooks are not allowed? this was a big deal breaker I will never buy one of there products again!!! why would they put it right on the box that it works on a Netbook? also if you loose the cd they will charge you $10.00 for a new one you can't use there updates unless a original disk is in a drive when you upgrade the software, I installed it on a desktop just to see how it works but I wanted it for traveling and draging my gaming system around is not a option, and buying a external usb drive for the netbook just to install Hauppauge software is not a reasonable expectation.

Purchased this after looking at several different options for watching tv on my laptop at work. I work during nights, and inside of a large office building without any windows close by. I tried this at my home first, and it picked up maybe 15 or so of the 20 channels available over the air in my area. Brought it to work, I got maybe 5 of those channels because of being inside a large building. I even purchased a couple different antennas/amplifiers to see if it would make any difference in the signal strength. Nothing made a difference, so I'm returning this within the 30 days of purchase. It might be a useful device for anyone looking to add an additional tv for watching football if you had a splitter from your cable/satellite box, but not useful for those looking to pick up over the air channels inside a building with thick walls.
