I had the older release on blueray. The sound quality is terrible. This 2017 version is much better picture and sound.

It isn't just a cops & robbers movie, it is a classic, one of the most powerful crime dramas of all time in my opinion.. This new 2-disc edition features a new restoration personally supervised by Mann, plus hours of revealing extras that include new interviews of the director and cast as they reflect two decades later on the meticulous preparation and challenges that went into making the epic Los Angeles crime story. No other movie has ever shown a more realistic and up close gun battle in the middle of the streets of a large metropolitan city. The story of this crime saga is intricately woven, mixed in with tense action and incredible dialogue. This is a must by for your collection of action movies.
