This is a great great movie... real and cruel as life

This movie has a lot of action with a decent story line.

Very good movie not bad...........................

This was a weird sequel to Star Trek. Did Kirk lose his memory or something? He's speaking with an accent on some desert planet with some old technology. I guess the plot is about him and his "brother(??)," I didn't know he had a brother(!!)," and their quest to rob a bank and give the money to the poor. Kind of noble I guess. The Dude is in it as Tommy Lee Jones meets Vin Diesel, or in other words, the same role he's been playing for eight years now, where he mumble growls his words and decides to stop Star Trek once and for aawwwwwwl.

It took a while to get into but it was pretty good

Loved this movie, one of the best of 2016. In my opinion a real sleeper. All aspects of this production: the writing, the acting, the directing and the gorgeous cinematography (many scenes of this movie were shot outdoors) is first rate. This is a great character study of two brothers against an unfair banking system. Reminds me of the style of Kevin Bacon's 2015 Cop Car movie, however this movie is even better. Very different from the typical Hollywood films currently being released. The Blu-ray is also excellent in all aspects.

Great HDR, colors in this movie really stand out; especially since this film takes place in rural Texas (lots of dry grass and dessert like conditions). The skin tone up close is phenomenal Movie overall is a great watch. Steelbook artwork is excellent. Lionsgate also does a great job with the slip covers for their Steelbooks.

The trailers for this movie really were intriguing but once released I had to search around to find it as it was released to such a small number of theaters. It was worth it. A great script and a great cast deliver a movie everyone will want to check out. Jeff Bridges was fantastic as usual. Chris Pine proves he's more than eye candy (he is hot tho) with a great performance. Ultimately both are overshadowed by Ben Foster who steals the show. The story of two brothers who devise a plan to keep the family farm. Great movie!!

I thought this film should have taken home the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. A compelling and engrossing film from beginning to end, I couldn't recommend this movie more highly to folks inclined to see it. I also highly recommend it to people who are interested in a cinematic statement about the plight of working class America in the 21st Century. Comparisons to No Country for Old Men aren't out of place, but this film has more distinctive elements to offer the viewer than that comparison may suggest.

This is not your average Western bank robbery movie! This one resonates with authenticity, weaving together a generous handful of characters expertly scripted and acted to tell the story of surviving in and around the desolate and barren West Texas landscape and its predictable small towns.

the reason it caught my was was because of chris pine now that that is settled the overall cast for this is AMAZING!!! the story is simple and yet super effective! everyone carries this movie the way they should! their roles are perfect for them. the ending for this was ruined for some but i thought it was good! just a simple bank robbery movie done the right way

Great movie! I found myself rooting for the “bad guys” who actually were trying to save their family farm from the bank by robbing and paying the bank back with their own money. Love the story and strong characters, from the author of Sicario. Made me realize you don’t want to mess with people from Texas because they are all armed! Good pro-gun argument, when everyone is armed do you really want to break the law? Not me!

Vivid, resonant, and brimming with life, this is a great genre movie, a film noir tapping into the uncertainties of our times, crossed with a modern Western chronicling a new brand of lawlessness.

Finally, watched this gem last night. The 4K picture quality was just awesome and the audio despite lacking Dolby Atmos was not so bad. The film was mostly dialogued driven anyway. Also, top notched acting from the 3 main actors (Jeff Bridges, Ben Foster & Chris Pine).

Amazing acting and stellar direction. Bridges is always an on-screen force. Pine and Foster have great brotherly chemistry (I've always thought Foster an underrated actor).This film didn't recieve the attention it should have but hopefully it will eventually.

This is a modern western movie. Great cast, acting and story in an amazing setting. If you like westerns or heist movies this is right up your alley. The steelbook is special as well. Gorgeous case art with a cool slipcover reveal. Must own for any collector.

I was looking forward to this movie and it did not disappoint. Acting was top notch. Jeff Bridges and Gil Birmingham where perfect together. Ben Foster and Chris Pine really made it seem like they where really brothers. Direction and writing where A +

Perfect example of economical writing, taught film making, and moral ambiguity. Jeff Bridges and Chris Pine are excellent. The parallel stories of two law enforcement officers up against two bank robbing brothers treats viewers to two kinds of justice; the kind meted out by community standards for law and order and that meted out by two brothers up against the banking system and land rights. Excellent!

You cannot go wrong watching a movie written by Taylor Sheridan. All three released so far have been phenomenal in there own way and it's difficult to pick a favorite. HeII or High Water has an interesting yet depressing premise and is backed by great performances by all, but headlined by the scene-chewing Jeff Bridges. Easily one of the finest films of the past few years.

Hell or High Water was very watchable. Drew me in and held me till the end. Good performances from Pine and Bridges and Chris Pines brother. An intensity and quiet dramatic build to this one. Had a rugged nearly western vibe (though set much more modern day). Worth a watch. -includes dvd, blu ray, digital copy
