Hell boy’s 4k blu- ray is defective keeps freezing halfway forwards the movie. Blu-ray is fine.

The Hellboy movie is a visually striking and action-packed adventure that brings the beloved comic book character to life. For fans of the iconic comic series where it all started, Guillermo Del Toro gave us a hard fought and well presented movie adaptation (and twice I might add!) While many of us are still hoping for a trilogy, we can at least be thankful for the two films thus far! In this new collectable steelbook edition (thanks to project PopArt), we get the unrated director's cut version of Hellboy on Blu ray. This single disk includes additional features such as: Deleted Scenes, Audio Commentary, some behind the scenes and other documentaries. Fans recognize the Steelbook artwork from the comics and that is a nice added bonus for either fans of the comics, the movies, the animated movies or all of them!All in all, a nice addition to any movie collection!

This movie is just shy of "awesome". My problem with it is the dialogue. A lot of the time the conversation and one-liner jokes just don't work. I am guessing that since Guillermo del Toro wrote the script and he speaks primarily Spanish the translation didn't quite come across. But whatever. Visually and stylistically this movie is superb. The colors that you see on the screen are bright and the lighting of different sets is done in a moody way and it all combines to make this film a visual treat. Not to mention the special effects, imaginative creatures, huge fight scenes, elaborate set and costume designs... I could go on and on. This particular edition of the DVD allows you to explore every nuance that went in to making the film. From the original four-issue comic book series that it sprang from to the finishing touches done in post-production. There are so many extras in this three-disc version that you could be stuck on your couch for at least a week to see all of them. del Toro makes far better use of the DVD medium than most filmmakers. And this is one of the best out there.

Hellboy is some of Guillermo del Toro's best work. If you liked Pacific Rim check this out. This is del Toro paying homage to another one of this personal obsessions, the comic series Hellboy. The story is fun, the effects are amazing as is the acting. The disc looks and sounds great too. Definitely give this one a chance.

I recently saw the previews for Hellboy 2 in theaters and thought that it was interesting enough to take a look. Haven't exactly seen the 1st movie though, so I figured why not see the first movie to see whether or not the upcoming sequel is worth paying the price of admission. Thankfully for me this was part of Best Buy's 2 for $30 Blu-Ray sale. The special effects on the movie was great and the movie had a good storyline backing to it. Overall, I have high expectations for the sequel since the original set a high bar.

This film had it all. Mr. Del Toro at his best. A great cast and story. This movie was so good that the director's cut is way better than the original film in theaters. This is the MUST HAVE edition. Can't wait till next year that part 2 comes out.

Hellboy was a great popcorn movie. The director is amazing at setting a scene. It's well work getting this movie on Bluray (if you've got the player) because the visuals are very interesting. The movie is a little short on plot and character development but it's fun and Ron Perlman is great as usual.

Excellent movie adaptation of the Hellboy comics / graphic novels. Del Toro does an awesome job of bringing the characters to life. Has plenty of action and humor to keep you entertained. The acting and the cinematography is great and the Blue Ray version makes it a must have film.

This was a good movie on dvd, but is just amazing on Blu Ray. The visuals are amazing through this superb transfer too Blu Ray. All details are amazing. So much detail was put into this movie and you now can tell!!!

one of the best comic to movies ever. the action and story line are amazing. the first of two awesome movies. i can only hope for a Hellboy3

A relative unknown riding the wave of comic book movie success and doing a good job at it. Ron Perlman brings the demonic hero to life with a bit of wit and bad attitude. The otherwordly references are a little confusing at first, but the story is definitely epic.

when i got the movie i thought i was wasting my money but i was wrong the actors were very good this movie gets two thumbes up from me

Love this movie. Good enough plot and acting to keep you entertained thoughout. On Bluray the action scenes really pop.

This movie is great fun. I love watching it. But it won't win any Academy Awards for acting. I highly recommend it if you dont take movies too seriously.
