Great movie. Being an African America person from that era, I wish there was more info at that time to inspire the rest of us as to how we were able to make life changing accomplishments to the American society and not hide us from the masses as they did. I applaude the actors, directors and anyone else involved with the making of this very Historic movie. Thanks for the opportunity to see great progress for America, and the world we live in.

I have a real interest in the behind the scenes aspect of how things happen. Growing up with NASA and watching many of the Apollo launches and splashdowns on TV, I especially enjoyed Apollo 13. When I saw the previews for Hidden Figures, I knew I wanted to get it once it came to video. I picked it up Black Friday at a great price, and while it wasn't exactly what I was expecting, it was still a good movie. Certainly provides a different perspective on what it took to get the space program off the ground.

When one delves deeper into how World War II technology advanced to the point of putting a man into space and returning him safe to earth. Supporting it all was a group of woman who by hand calculated everything from trajectories to amount of thrust needed to get a man into space. Due to the politics and culture at the time these woman were not given the credit they were due. This movie honors them and gives them the long over due credit for the work they did. Based on a true story and brought to life in a spectacular and accurate depiction.

What a wonderful film this is! It makes you laugh, it makes you cry, and it makes you wonder... makes you wonder why you never heard about these women before! Set in the fifties, during the Race for Space, when the US is trying to catch up with the Ruskies by being the first to send a manned rocket ship into space. Learn about the important role these 'Hidden Figures' played. It is fun for both men and women, and don't forget to watch the Special Features, which will give you even more insight into this incredible and true story! In stunning UHD!

This movie, Hidden Figures, is a true story about 3 black ladies who become involved with the NASA space program and are instrumental in the launching of John Glenn into space when he orbited the earth 3 times. There is drama, suspense, humor and love in this movie. The blue-ray version did not work on our blue-ray player but the digital copy did. We would recommend it to everyone, especially if you are interested in the space program of old.

I worked for the Aerospace industry for 36 years. This movie brings honor to women of color, all people of color that contributed to the world in astounding ways and receiving recognition for their efforts, brilliance, hard work and perseverance during difficult times. The perfect cast was chosen for this movie. The story line was presented so well and I would definitely recommend this movie.

Hidden Figures is a movie that tells a story that went untold to the general public for far too long. The cast is very talented, and the script is a delightful mix of serious and comedic. This is one of a very tiny handful of films I have seen in a theater where the audience applauded and cheered multiple times during the course of the movie. There are also some very good special features included in this release, as well as a "History and Insipiration Movie Companion Booklet," but the booklet is far too brief to be really of any real value.

The things that aren’t included in history books...major contributions by individuals at NASA finally being acknowledged, though decades later. Great casting in this film lead to great performances by the actors portraying these real-life characters. Though this film sheds light on three contributors, I recommend reading the book which gives further detail and sheds further light on these and other women not mentioned outright in the movie.

Super cool movie. Shows you a true story to a side of the space program that most people dont know about.

I love movies with a historical theme to them and this one was right on the mark. The message that it presents is perfect for girls AND boys & blacks AND whites. I remember being excited to see it through the trailers, but was thoroughly impressed when I finally saw it. By owning it now, I now have access to the backstory about the women portrayed in this movie and it is inspiring what they accomplished. It is just too bad that it took this long for the story to come out. Hopefully this will lead to more inspirational stories like this.

If there was ever a movie to show grace and resolve under pressure, it is this movie. The women were not portrayed as super women, but rather as strong women who only asked for the chance to show their talents. I was moved, inspired, laughed and cried at the way these beautiful ladies did not take "no" for an answer, and kept moving forward. The depiction of both racism and sexism was both overt and subtle, which I think pretty accurately mirrored the time. The way the women addressed and overcame both makes this an excellent movie.

Bought for showing in school, serviceable movie with some historical inaccuracies. Nothing more to say.

I originally saw this in a theater. Wonderful film with spectacular acting and a really great storyline. Film is both very touching and very uplifting. It's a shame we seem to be moving backwards toward the timeframe of this film instead of moving past it. But I'm ever hopeful that well done films, like this one, will open people's eyes and move us further forward instead of further back. Blu Ray version is well done and I enjoyed the film just as much the second time around. Great addition to any film collector's library.

This movie shows the contributions of black women to NASA in the 1960s Jim Crow south. Very Interesting.

I knew that I wanted to own this movie as soon as I watched it with my wife. Before purchasing it, I investigated my options. I bought it at Best Buy because of the free digital download of the book. When I got home I downloaded it for my wife to read on her kindle right away. The book was a wonderful bonus. I hope to see Best Buy do this even more!

This is an important part of NASA's history. It's a shame it took so long for it to be told. Smart, smart women were used to compute equations that were used in finding how to put men in space and bring them back down safely. This story is about three black women who dealt with racism and sexism of the '60's while fighting for the opportunities to do these extremely important jobs. How they did it was inspiring and the end of the movie gave a small peak into their continued careers. They were and are amazing women!

An awesome/truly inspiring movie. The movie depicts a part of history that I was not aware of when I grew up. Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson achieved unprecedented success during a time when African-Americans were being denied the opportunity to fulfill their dreams. As an African-American engineer, I applaud their fortitude and I hope that youth, who are aspiring to seek a STEM profession and have had an opportunity to see this movie, will be more motivated to achieve their dreams.

This is a great movie and at a great price this was a welcome addition to our BluRay library.

Better than I'd expected (Hensen, Spencer, and of course, Monae play their roles respectfully and enjoyably). I'm sure there are some liberties or anachronisms, so take with grain of salt. As entertainment, it wins. As historical film, it wins. As historical fiction (for embellishments) it wins. Good enough for adults, clean enough for kids, WONDERFUL for girls.
