This is an inspiring, intelligently made, well acted beautiful movie. It does not matter the race, gender, or time period. This is a movie about doing your best, doing what is right, doing what you know you need to do in spite of all the outside hate and confusion that surrounds you. More people need to be like these women. As you watch this movie you realize that you want to have met these people and know your life is just a little bit lacking because you didn't. Jus watch this movie.t

Man, was this ever a great movie! Telling a little-known story of the black females working behind the scenes as "computers" during the space race of the 1960s, it also highlights some of the trials and tribulations encountered by them as negroes in the 1960s. The movie tells a story, whereas the book it's based on is much more fact-based and begins much earlier in the history of the women than the movie. It's one of the very few examples where the movie is actually better than the book IMO.

Great film with excellent performances. Quality ov the blu-ray was good but not a lot of features

The Blu-Ray combo pack, in this particular instance, means you get DVD, Blu-ray, Digital Copy, and in addition there is a small booklet AND $11 digital credit to buy an e-book (or really anything you'd buy online if you don't want the book -- music, other digital movies, etc) how can you go wrong? And besides that, the film really should have taken home a lot of oscar gold. I still like to imagine that thePWC Accountants got it wrong the second time.. and this was really the best picture.

This film is one of those that tells an inspiring story from history that has rarely been told. I'm so glad that the author of the book has given us these unforgettable characters from the space age of the 1960's a time of political & racial unrest. Taraji Henson, Janelle Monae & Octavia Spencer brought such depth to these 3 monumental characters that history has left as a footnote to the time period. It's their determination to become the best in their field that is so inspiring.

This is a very entertaining movie. A good historical story. The price was good as well.

How unfortunate that most, myself included, weren't aware of the important contributions of Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson. But finally these amazing women and their profound stories, whether streamlined or semi-fictionalized, are given a beautiful adaptation that will make you cheer. Excellent performances and an uplifting, if slightly formulaic, story make this a winner. With great picture and sound on Blu-Ray, this should be added to your collection ASAP!

This is based on real life and the women in this movie are INCREDIBLE. Not only do they focus on the intelligence and savvy of these ladies, but they bring out their personal struggles in a time when women weren't thought of a science leaders, and probably even less for black ladies. I LOVED watching them become the heroes of the space agency, even though it wasn't widely recognized. This movie will lift your spirits and you will want to watch it again.

I could really relate to this one being a woman of color myself and having worked for the aerospace industry myself during the late 60's. Although I wasn't in the South as these women were, and didn't have to endure the inconvenience of walking a mile to use the restroom, I still endured the prejudice being a woman of color, in what was considered to be a 'white man's world' at that time! But I didn't give up. I persevered as they did and reaped the rewards of my experience!

A well done, wonderfully acted and directed film. I originally saw it in the theater when it came out. It is an inspiring and uplifting movie. It is an intelligent film that addresses racial and gender inequality & stereotypes that, sadly still have some overtones today. I had known about Katherine Johnson's contribution to the Space program before seeing the film ,, but it was interesting to also learn about the other ladies' contributions. This is a film for everyone.

Such a GREAT movie about some heroes of our country I was not aware of, but so glad I know about now. As soon as I think she will pay attention and actually sit and watch this movie, I am showing it to my niece. Every girl in the country should watch this movie. It is so empowering to show women can (and do) excel in STEM even though our society would lead us to believe otherwise.

I have wanted to see this movie for ever. I love the realness of how the story was told.

If you love science and space, you'll love this one. Great story line, shot well!

Presentation/Availability: Product was well packaged with no broken/opened box. There were many available at the store. Performance: If you love dramas and especially when they are based on true events, then this movie is for you. I loved this movie at the theaters and decided to buy it for the extra features that are included. Powerful story. Customer service: Very good customer service. I was greeted by an employee as soon as I walked through the door.

I love this movie that shows Black women in a positive uplifting role. Imagine how scary it was for a group of brilliant, intelligent, black mathematicians living in a racist and segregated nation in a Male white-dominated profession. These women didn't let anything scare them or deter them from their dreams and goals. They showed courage, remarkable skill and talent.

As a 1950's generation I could relate to the insane way racism in the country at that time robbed us of so much potential for us all as a nation to become more. I always and still do to day believe our greatest resource in this country is lost to racism and gender discrimination. This movie was a great experience in showing when something really needs to get done, the bias social rules that hold us back can be overcome.

Like how they portrayed the story and im a fan of the actresses so its worth the watch
