Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the excellent picture quality, brightness, and size of the 100" Class U76 Series 4K UHD QLED Smart Google TV (2024). Many feel the black levels are impressive and the HDR performance is satisfactory, especially considering the price. However, some customers have noted the TV is heavy, the upscaling capabilities could be improved, and a few have reported challenges with customer service.

100’ Beast that will replace projectors

I just got this massive TV in and all I could say is I’m very happy with it. I did so the dirty teat on it to make sure that there was nothing wrong with it. I have seen other reviews saying that they received a lemon. I honestly feel sorry for those that had the trouble finding that there was a problem. Back to my review, The Geek squad did a fantastic job with handling the TV and installing it without any issues. Like I said earlier I did do the dirty test and it passed, there was no blooming, colors looked amazing and did not see any washed out lighting. Well I could say this beast is bright and picture quality to me was that a little better than my Sony X90J. There are some bugs though which I know there are going to be updates to make the processing better, as when you scroll to apps it lags a little but goes to normal after a few clicks. The Picture Quality is great but not OLED great. Blacks are great and contrast levels are fantastic as well, like I said, minor blooming effects but very minimal and can’t hardly notice them. Colors are very vibrant and very accurate I went on rtings.com and made very minor changes to them. Dolby vision looked outstanding to me as there are four different variations of DV, I personally chose Dolby Custom to be honest as I did my own calibration. Keep in mind when the TV switches inputs make sure to calibrate accordingly to your preferences. Gaming mode, Yes its fantastic, 6ms response time and its fluid fast. I had my nephew play COD and he was rocking it. The picture quality on game mode is great too, there are 9 options to choose from HDR vivid to surprise IMAX enhanced mode. I use the IMAX enhanced mode, makes the gaming experience more enjoyable. Like I said, I have seen other complaints and yeah it is very frustrating to get a lemon. Trust me I have been through it and it was a Samsung. The sound quality of this thing is good not the best but good, it has a built in subwoofer. But I’m using a Home Theater system so there is no comparison. This TV is a game changer to replace a short throw or even projectors at its price point at $2K USD. Again this is my assessment on this so please take it as a grain of salt, its not OLED quality but hey man 100’ TV thats as good as Full Array Sony TV.

I purchased the HISENSE U76 100" in January 2024, around the same time many others did for $2000. I was getting frustrated with my 2017 Sony 850e with its sluggish interface, poor eArc connectivity, lack of HDMI 2.1 (or whatever)...even though the sony picture is outstanding. I'd been on the lookout for an 85" TV upgrade, but when this 100" went on sale from $5k to $2k I just had to pull the trigger. Geek Squad sent 3 people with the TV, along with their own mount in case mine wasn't good enough. They inspected the mount I purchased and deemed it worthy, so they went with my mount without argument. Zero sales tactics. The guy drilling the holes DID miss the stud a couple of times - and I called him out on it.. But it happens, and filling 10 holes isn't much different than filling 8 when the time comes. On the wall, the thing is MASSIVE. It's not too thick, but definitely more than the 75" Sony is thick. The bezels are thin though so it looks super modern. The picture is unbelievable. My Sony has HDR but not local dimming or QLED. The QLED and HDR on this Hisense just makes a world of difference. Absolutely unbelievable pictured quality. Plus, every HDMI input is capable of 120hz refresh so all my gaming systems and Nvidia Shield look amazing. The interface is far simpler and faster than the Sony, eArc works without question, and things just function how they should. Absolutely amazing TV, especially for the price I paid. It's $5k now, not sure I'd go for it at that price. But rest assured this is a GREAT TV.

Price For Performance Can Not Be Beat

Let’s get this out of the way, it is giant, you may have to rearrange your room to make it fit. The wow factor is real, but it’s not just a giant tv, the features it comes with make it a performance bargain. For a tv this big, i thought it would be a good idea to be a full array tv with local dimming, i don’t want light bleed, which on such a big panel would be very noticeable. This TVs black levels are awesome for the price and when viewing 4K content, you will be hard pressed to find any things to quibble about. Gaming is awesome. I have a Xbox Series X hooked up to the high speed HDMI port and I swear it’s a performance enhancer. Between the latency and the size of the image, cross maps campers are gonna get flushed out. The negatives are not even negatives, they are givens. The sound out of the box is okay, you will want a decent atmos/dtsx soundbar at a minimum. Resolutions sub 1440p on physical media are stretched thin. This is not a surprise, the upscaling can only do so much. Streaming wise, the blacks can be a bit off, even in 4K. But this is the limitations of streaming, not the tv. 4k blu ray(tested with Blade Runner Final Cut and the new Seven Samurai) on the Series X looks great. If I put a dedicated 4k player with more robust Dolby Vision, it would look even better. Considering the price point it is during the holidays, if you are looking at this vs the TClL 98 or the lower spec Hisense, spend the money on this one.

    Projector Replacement? YES!

This huge TV has replaced a 106" 1080p projector and screen in my basement theater. The colors, brightness, resolution, and refresh rate are all far superior to most projectors and now I can watch with as much or as little light in the room as I want! The picture looks amazing. The built in sound is pretty good, though i'm not using it. eARC to my receiver is great for using the built in Google TV features and still getting Dolby Atmos sound in my 5.1.4 setup. I've not yet watched enough dark source material to see any blooming. PS5 Gaming is great. I absolutely love this TV. There are a few things I wish were different. The TV is VERY reflective, so avoid windows and lights in your reflected line of sight for the best experience. There also doesn't appear to be a way to "skip" or "disable" various inputs, making them always appear in the input list even if nothing is connected. I also wish it would more easily show me the resolution and refresh rate rather than having it buried in the settings menu. Many "features" are enabled by default that should be disabled, light motion enhancement and active contrast, no thank you. Interestingly, Home Assistant can see lots of actions that the Google TV is doing. This includes Play, pause, on, off, inactive, etc... making it very convenient for tuning smart lights (bias lights, sconces, overhead, adjacent rooms) based on activity. The price was also amazing at $2,000, on sale at launch! Best Buy did the install for free, and were great.

I recently purchased the Hisense 100" Class U76 Series QLED 4K Google TV, and I'm absolutely thrilled with my investment. This TV offers an immersive viewing experience with its massive size, outstanding image quality, and impressive sound. The 4K resolution and QLED technology deliver a crystal-clear picture that's both vibrant and detailed. The HDR performance is exceptional, providing vivid colors and deep contrasts. Out of the box, the image quality is remarkable, and I found the brightness to be particularly impressive. The audio quality is another standout feature. While the TV has good built-in speakers, I did find it necessary to tweak the equalizer settings a bit, especially on the low end, to enhance the overall sound experience. Once adjusted, the audio became rich and well-balanced, complementing the stunning visuals. One notable aspect is the impeccable motion handling, making fast-paced scenes and action sequences incredibly smooth. Although I haven't tested gaming on it yet, I can confidently anticipate an amazing gaming experience based on the TV's overall performance. Setting up the Google TV interface was a breeze, and the smart features add to the convenience of using this television. The remote control is user-friendly, and the integration of Google TV makes navigating through content seamless. In summary, the Hisense 100" U76 Series QLED 4K Google TV is a fantastic purchase for anyone seeking a large, high-quality display. Its outstanding image clarity, vibrant colors, impressive sound (with a little adjustment), and smooth motion handling make it a top-tier choice. I highly recommend this TV for those looking to elevate their home entertainment experience.

Holy crap. This TV is worth way more then 2K in my opinion. The black levels come really close to my OLED and this TV gets brighter. It's can get pretty close to blinding when a full screen of white comes on. In fact I've seen a few reviews mention they would like this brighter.. maybe they didn't take the TV out of power saving mode (which it ships in). With a little tweaking with the TV settings this TV is amazing. I'm thinking of buying a second one for the Living room. This one is in our theater room replacing a 4K Optima laser projector. While the projector was nice, this beats it hands down! So, I know most of you will say this won't beat an OLED, and that part is true. But it comes so close! Due to the size and how close it looks to my OLED I definitely prefer this TV. One last thing.. the colors are also incredible. If you want or like super color saturation this TV has it. I had to turn the color settings down a bit for my taste.

The Hisense 100" Class U76 Series 4K QLED UHD Smart Google TV (2024) offers a stunning large-screen viewing experience with advanced features. It boasts Quantum Dot technology for rich, vibrant colors and supports multiple HDR formats, including Dolby Vision, ensuring excellent contrast and brightness. The 144Hz refresh rate is ideal for gaming, delivering smooth visuals, especially when paired with the Game Mode. Additionally, its full array local dimming enhances brightness and detail across the screen, while Dolby Atmos provides immersive audio. The Google TV platform makes navigation seamless, and voice controls through Google Assistant or Alexa add hands-free convenience. Pre-installed streaming apps like Netflix and Disney+ make it easy to access content. The look and sound quality make this an excellent choice for the price.

For the price range you cannot beat the size and picture quality. In a medium or darker lit room it looks great. Go this way every time over projector. If you’re worried about long term reliability get the 5 year geek squad protection. Hisense has overtaken Vizio in the value category. I have Sonys and LGs as well and this is on par. It’s a beast and minimum of 2 person task mounting and installing. Weighs like 130 pounds. Get a quality mount. I have not seen the u8 in person but there is no way it’s worth the more than double price. I would buy two of these first.

Pretty impressive black levels due to high local dimming zones, and good peak brightness even in daylight. Overall, not as good as OLED but I wouldn’t say by much. The screen size is a definite WOW factor that will transform any movies, sports, and videos into theater like experiences. And no slow downs when scrolling from multiple apps on Google TV. Only negative is the speakers, imo most TV speakers really can’t do more than mid treble and some bass (barely). Only TV i’ve notice with great sound were OLED LG’s, but if you get a good soundbar or have a home theater 3.1/5.1 than you won’t have any problems. For me, it’s well worth the buy.

Easily the greatest bang-for-the-buck TV deal I've ever seen. I purchased the 100U76N for my game room and the 100U8K for my theater room. The U8K certainly gets brighter as it tops out around 2100 nits. The U76N only reaches about 800. So the U8K dazzles way more in HDR than the U76. In SDR they both look amazing. Unfortunately they both have the same garbage software and are littered with bugs. Let me name a few: -CONSTANT eARC cutouts and hiccups -Sometimes eARC breaks and only outputs 2.0 no matter what settings you change (you have to restart the tv to fix it) -Sometimes eARC breaks entirely and doesn't output anything at all (restart tv is the only fix) -Sometimes the input flashes back for a brief bit -Internal apps sometimes break and the tv flashes giant images of one color (like the whole screen goes red, blue, green, gray, white). you have to pull the power plug to fix this. -Sometimes the interface goes to a crawl for no apparent reason These issues happen on both displays which are connected to different sources and audio devices via eARC and use different cables. Both displays have HORRENDOUS screen uniformity. Giant blotches of color shifting from red to green appear on solid color or white/gray images...this is inherent to large displays but both displays have it worse than I've ever seen before. Despite all that insanity: its STILL the best value in TVs today. Its such a good deal that I'm willing to deal with all that and then some. I can't go back to a projector after being spoiled with such a large tv. If they can do some actual work on the software then its over for the competition.

I was torn between this tv and the TCL QM6k television. I think I made the best choice for the following reasons: THE GOOD: 1. This tv is amazing for 4k Blu-rays-- especially Alita- Battle Angel (omg). 2. This game is amazing with my Xbox Series X and PS5. I have them both set for 4k and 120hz. However, the ONLY HDMI cables that seemed to make the tv operate at 4k were the Hori 8k HDMI cables (the official Playstation HDMI cables) 3. The sound is SUPER LOUD and has a little base to it. I've never had a tv that was so loud. You really don't need a sound system with this tv at all. But, I have one attached anyway to get surround sound. 4. It boots up quickly and accesses the internet extremely fast. THE BAD: 1. Regular non-HD content looks HORRIBLE. My older tvs (that are at least 6 or 7 years old) look better in regular content than this tv. I thought the TV was defective. But, after researching, it seems this is normal for this particular make and model. 2. Everything is in 16:9 format with a black bar at the top and bottom. Why? My 65 inch hisense filled the ENTIRE screen, but this does not and I don't know why. You can go into the settings to stretch the screen, but when you do that it looks extremely weird.I kinda feel like the TV is not 100 inch since a everything has a black bar at the top and bottom. My video games and screens when connected to a video game are the entire screen. 3. The remote control SUCKS. OMG. It's a google tv, so naturally I want to watch movies on it. There's no fast forward or rewind buttons. It's strictly a circle dial on teh remote and it's horrible to use. Additionally, they claim it's backlit. Um, only if every single light is off on planet Earth. Otherwise, I'm not seeing ANY light the remote. 4. Sometimes Youtube won't work on the tv. I have to do a HARD RESET (e.g. unplug the TV and then plug it up again and restart youtube). Overall, for the price I paid ($1500) and the inclusion of a free 43 inch Hisense which I sold for $100, I think this tv is a great deal. It's great for video games and 4k as I said. It's mediocre for everything else which is why I can only give it 4 out of 5.

I had a samsung 85" Q85B. That was an amazing tv. QLED full array everything. But this TV is just too good. I would say it's better than the Q85B except for in brightness. The colors, motion processing, and build quality of this tv are amazing. This TV is built very strong. Not at all flimsy. Very heavy. I would highly recommend getting an Nvidia shield pro with this tv. The AI upscaling on the shield makes 1080p videos look good. Without it you're not going to really enjoy 1080p. With the shield its awesome. You have to understand this is a 100 inch tv and therefore the pixel density of 1080p will suffer unless you have a proper upscaler like the shield. So now my setup has the nvidia shield with a definitive technology surround sound setup. The sound on this TV can get loud so I didnt really set it over 20 volume. Obviously my surround speakers sound better. But the tv speakers are better than most tv speakers for sure. So overall I would say this: the tv is amazing when you give it a quality source input. When going with a tv of this size, you wont get away with feeding it low quality images. I was absolutely amazed by what i recieved for the price. This TV would be a fair sell even at $4000. Get quality hdmi cables, a good source for your streaming, and surround sound setup and you'll feel like you're in a movie theatre every day. Brightness can be an issue with the built in presets, but you can adjust to get it right. Really a great tv. Definitely competes with samsung, sony and lg. Hisense is the new competitor and innovator. I wouldn't buy any other tv at the price I got this for sure.

Absolutely thrilled with my purchase of the Hisense 100" TV! The sheer size of the display is a game changer—it feels like having a personal movie theater at home. The 4K resolution is stunning, offering crisp, vivid colors and sharp detail. Whether I'm watching sports, movies, or playing games, the picture quality is consistently impressive. The sound quality is also excellent, with a built-in audio system that delivers clear and immersive sound, though adding a soundbar would enhance the experience even more. The smart features are intuitive and responsive, with a wide selection of streaming apps and services readily available. Setting up the TV was straightforward, and the design is sleek, with minimal bezels that let the screen take center stage. Overall, the Hisense 100" TV offers unbeatable value for its size, quality, and price. It's an incredible upgrade for any home entertainment setup! Highly recommended for anyone looking to elevate their viewing experience.

Good overall TV. I use the PS5 and the apps on the TV. I configured a few settings like turned off the auto adjustments such as auto dimming, and enabled HDR, and gaming mode, everything seems pretty good. I still can’t get the colors to be perfect but close enough. I’m a very picky person and I would’ve returned it if the colors or clearness but it meets my standards which as I mentioned are really high. It is super bright, light years brighter than my projector in another room. The operating system is pretty fast too. I was using an Apple TV which wouldn’t do the frame rate that the TV supports so I just eliminated it and used the apps on the TV. I give it 5 stars for being a truly immersive TV and great for gaming. I can now see what’s on the TV from any part of my living room including the couch which I couldn’t deal with not being able to see anything on my previous 65 inch. I definitely recommend it to anyone. It’s the first thing that anyone sees when they walk in and it’s the first thing say, about how big it is.

TV is great for movies and watching sports! I am not a gamer, so i cant review tjos capabilities. The sound is also impressive! This TV is in a game room and i decided to not hook up the existing Yamaha and Polk surround sound setup in order to reclaim some space. Unless you have a room over 15x20, i would try the TV without a soundbar or a 5.1/7.1 setup. Honestly, I am not sure why anyone would buy a more expensive TV or buy a projector. I would rather watch sports on this TV than watch it in my dedicated theater room with an expensive 120” projector setup! TV is very heavy and Best Buy couldnt deliver to my Lake House, so i did it myself with rolling furniture dollys. TV is shipped on a custom wooden pallet in order to protect the TV. I moved the TV in a new Silverado EV and i still had have the tailgate down for the box to slide in. With the shipping box and pallet, the total weight was 227 pounds.

Way better than I was expecting. Would buy again and will when they hit 140''. HAHA For 20 years I have used a projector to get this size or larger for my primary TV. But this is so much easier. I was lucky enough to get this amazing TV on a special for $2,000! Even at the full price of $5,000 it's an amazing TV. One thing I was worried about is that it's not Mini Led and "only" goes to 800 nits of brightness. Worry NOT....this thing gets PLENTY bright! Just leave it in SDR. The TV industry keeps pushing HDR but give any average person a back to back test and they pick SDR 95 times out of 100. HDR is cool and all but at home 95% of people prefer SDR over HDR. I mention this because in SDR this thing is BRIGHT! In HDR it's darker just like every other TV. HDR is so over rated. It's this generations 3D and curved screens, HDR won't be much of a consideration in 5-8 years from now. Worry not this TV is super bright and I am a TV snob.

Awesome product. For the price there is no comparison. I love everything about this. Already know there are better specification products out there. I am picky, but not picky enough to spend thousands of dollars for very little gain. I already own OLED systems and the difference is minimal. Yes, there is a difference, but not worth the money. Best Buy is offering great installation but get it from the store rather ordering from the website. Purchasing this instore is a MUCH better experience. I never tested the speakers on the TV since connected to a Sonos surround system via HDMI ARC.
