We bought a 43 inch HiSense TV on black Friday at BB but did open the box until mid December. After mounting the TV on the wall, the TV picture was poor it included numerous horizontal lines and shaky text. I contacted Hisense and they claimed someone dropped the TV and would not support or exchange. Never again will I purchase a Hisense product they were polite but I knew we did not drop the TV. Best Buy took care of me by permitting me to exchange the product.

Decent for the price expect for the fact that the panel backlight has began to dim in certain zones causing a blue tint to parts of the display no matter the source or picture mode. This happened about 2 years after I bought it so it is out of warranty. Also the built-in Chromecast feature is garbage and hardly ever works.

good bang-for-your-buck as a computer monitor

I was in the market for a 4K computer monitor, and I decided to give this a try. So far I am happy with the results. I am able to run it at 4K/60Hz/full color (no subsampling) from my Broadwell U-series laptop (Intel HD 5500 graphics) using a DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0a active adapter (I have the UpTab brand one, though I believe there are others on the market that have the same guts) through my HP docking station (HP EliteBook 850 G2 laptop connected through an HP UltraSlim docking station).
Make sure to contact Hisense for the firmware update to enable HDR on the TV. For whatever reason it does not seem to update OTA, and I couldn't find it on the Hisense website. If your settings menu does not have a System -> HDMI Function -> HDMI 2.0 Format menu where you can select "Enhanced format" then you do not have the correct firmware to be able to run 4K/60Hz/4:4:4. I had a very good experience with Hisense support. I called the number on their website, was connected to a person within a minute, and he knew exactly how to enter a ticket requesting the firmware update. He offered to either mail me a USB drive, or send me a link to download the firmware and put it onto my own USB drive. I opted for the download, was promised that I would receive the email from their support team within 24 hours, and got the email the next morning.
Pros:
- Great value for a 4K panel.
- Achieves 4K/60Hz/4:4:4 with Intel HD 5500 graphics using DisplayPort->HDMI active adapter.
- Responsive customer service.
- 4-year warranty.
Cons:
- Viewing angles are not as good as typical computer monitors (this does not appear to be an IPS panel). The screen is big enough and I sit close enough to it that there is a noticeable change in brightness across the screen.
- Panel/backlight/bezel do not line up perfectly at the edges. I actually set a custom resolution of 3816x2140 to put a ~10 pixel border around the screen to work around this. This is likely only an issue if you plan to use this as a monitor.
- The first one I got had a splotch of dead pixels in the bottom-right quadrant (may be 15 pixels, in a clump). I called Hisense and asked how many dead pixels they required a panel to have before they considered it defective, and the answer I got was "1," so I exchanged the one I got (through the store, not through Hisense -- they offered me mail-in service with a potential refurb replacement, which seemed silly for a brand-new TV) and the second one has no dead or bright pixels.
In summary, this is not the ultimate 4K display, but it is a great value for what you get, and for me is definitely "good enough." Compared to the amount of screen real estate I could get for the money buying screens marketed as computer monitors, I would much rather spend the same amount of money on this screen.

Never heard of this brand before but after viewing in the store it had a beautiful picture. I normally buy Samsung TV's but for the price and picture quality I couldn't pass this one up. Had it a few weeks now and we are very pleased with it. It is very easy to use and Netflix Youtube are right on the remote for instant access. Videos load instantly with no lagging or wait time and I only have average speed internet. 4K videos are absolutely stunning!!!! I had every intention of buying a Samsung or Sony TV but this Hisense TV had more bang for the buck and honesty think the 4k video quality was BETTER than the more expensive brands next to it. Took a gamble on something I've never had before and GLAD I DID!!!! First smart Tv and first 4k Ultra HD TV and couldn't be happier.

For the price you really cant beat this TV! 4k HDR 4:4:4 croma capable for under $400! Displaying the 4k content is impressive on this TV. Deep blacks and very bright whites. Now out of the box the colors are off and a little weird. It took a while to get them right( still working on it.) My Xbox one has a display set up feature that worked perfectly the picture is really good and I cant feel any lag at all. I also have it hooked up to my computer, now my pc is only capable of 1080p 4k requires a better vid card (that can get expensive if you want the best 4:4:4 display.) Also to have a HDMI cable that supports 4k 60 frames a sec and HDR they can get real expensive.( just warning you) Antenna TV is nice with a great favorites menu. smart apps work great with short cut buttons. Now the picture has some quirks but for a budget TV i really cant complain. Now all I need is some 4k content, that's the hard part!

Hisense put out an AMAZING product. I went through numerous different 4K TV's and had to return all of them because they were all garbage around the $300-$600 price range EXCEPT for THIS Hisense 43" 4K. This TV works and looks like a $1500 one. The TV is built very strong unlike alot of others. The screen is built very strong and not loose from the bezel (frame) unlike the other 4K's I bought. The High Dynamic Range is very rare in the price range of these 4K TV's, and Hisense definitely used HDR to put out a picture that was amazing. Hisense is one of the best selling brands in China and recently bought out SHARP TV's not too long ago, so you know Hisense is a quality brand. They are not very popular in the US, but that will soon change as people realize the quality products Hisense is putting out in the affordable price range. They take pride in their products and gave me a free 4 year warranty with my purchase. The TV has everything I needed and looks AMAZING playing my PS4. Games look WAY better than any other TV I bought. Yes, there's a little lag playing PS4 games but that is very common with 4K's. The lag isn't terrible though. Very good actually compared to other 4K's. For this price, you can't beat it. Bang for your buck. Smart, HDR (High Dynamic Range), 4K, 120 hz ultra smooth, and a quality built TV for arounf $400 is absolutely unbeatable. Great job Hisense. I will now be buying my tv's from Hisense and will be spreading the word to everyone about this brand.

I've always had Sony or Samsung but was looking to add a TV in my office and kept coming back to this one at BB. I figured what the heck and took a gamble and glad that I did! It took very little fiddling with the color controls before I just sat back with a "Wow"..... Extremely happy with my choice and now we'll see about the longevity.

it has been 21 years since I needed a new TV so catching up with technology and terminology was daunting at first. I had many things plugged into my old TV. VCR ,CD player, surround sound system, the FIOS set top box, and a roof antenna. Instructions could use a little more elaboration. It took many days of trial and error to finally get everything but the VCR playing. (still working on that one)
Other then that, after tinkering a lot with the controls, I was able to get a gorgeous picture and hooked into the 20 year old sound system, the sound was better then I have ever had it before.
Only time will tell about reliability. but for now I am 100% satisfied with the price at Best Buy and the product.

Excellent Monitor - Chroma 4.4.4!!

I bought this TV along with the Sony Bravia X800E, and compared them for use in my office solely as a Monitor. I do nothing but look at my Sales Software, Emails, and Spreadsheets, and I needed a monitor that could display the text without straining my eyes. In comparing the two TV's I was blown away by how much cleaner and sharper the text was on the Hisense vs the Sony TV. Although many websites say that the Sony TV is the best TV on the market for monitors, I didn't run across one website that tested the Hisnese for this purpose. Before you run out and buy the Sony TV for $600, try this one out first - you'll be pleased that you did.

Great TV, Great Computer Monitor, Great Price

I originally ordered a $250 43" 4K TV from WalMart, it arrived broken. I returned it and went to BestBuy, bought this TV instead. $150 more expensive, but it is a smart TV, which allows you to hook directly to NetFlix, Amazon, YouTube and several others. The TV also hooks to your network wirelessly.
I am actually using the TV as a 3840x2160 computer monitor, hooked to my laptop via HDMI. No problems, frame rates are perfect.
I was particulary impressed with the speakers on this TV. I normally don't expect the speakers on a budget TV to be worth much, but I don't think anyone would think these are budget unless you told them. They really sound great, and have replaced a bluetooth $100 sony stand-alone speaker I had originally been using, they are actually much better. So consider just the speakers alone to be worth $100.
I am writing this review right now on this TV as a monitor.
The only drawback at all would be it would be nice if it was curved, but you need to step up another $300 or so to get a curved Samsung that is equivelant, not really worth it.
Great TV / Great computer monitor (BTW you will never find a 4K computer monitor of any size for $399, these days there is no difference, so go big and get the TV as your monitor).

This tv is awesome. First of all I got it on sale so it was $300. The picture and sound quality that you see other reviewers talking about is no joke. I can have the tv on volume at 10 and it is good. The speakers are on the bottom of the tv. The picture quality is so good my 8 year old daughter told me she wished she had 3d glasses...I had to explain to her it wasnt a 3d tv. The picture is clear, vivid, and pretty much perfect. To top off a great tv at a great price the tv comes with an included 4 year warranty! Great deal. I would recommend this tv to anyone in the market for a new one!

Good TV, with one small problem

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I bought this TV a couple of months ago around Christmas, and everything about it is fantastic, except that the HDMI 2 port seems to be non-functional.
I would have returned it for replacement at BB right away, except that I didn't know anything was wrong with it until now, I only had the 1 4k device( most devices to Receiver, then 1 line from receiver to TV) that I needed to plug into it, so the second 2.0 port wasn't needed, but I just recently received a VGA to 4k HDMI up-converter for my birthday which I promptly tried using to get my old sega dreamcast connected to the TV through port 2.
I went through 4 different HDMI cables, and couldn't get a connection, I then tried it on the other HDMI ports on the TV, and they all worked, albeit, ports 3 and 4 were limited to 1080p, I then moved the receiver to port 2 and couldn't get a connection through that either, so it apparently has a defective HDMI port, which wouldn't be so bad, but it just happens to be 1 of the 2 HDMI 2.0 ports on the TV, which is a shame and that's why I'm rating it 4 stars and not 5.
I still highly recommend this TV, I think it's great for a small living room, or a large bedroom, it's picture is fantastic, and it's sound quality is truly spectacular for a TV in this price range as well.

I bought this at an unbelievable price, Best Buy priced matched it for me.
The TV when unboxed was in excellent condition. I plugged it in 110V receptacle turned power on and it did power up but I only got a dark navy blue screen and it never did anything else. I tried touching remote buttons, buttons on the TV itself and it would do nothing but the dark navy blue screen. After an hour or so trying different things I finnaly gave up and returned the TV the next morning. After much internal argument I decided to exchange it for the exact same one, luckily they had one in stock. Best Buy tested the TV when I returned it and could not get it to activate properly as well. Once I arrived home with the exchanged TV this one powered on as it should and seems to work fine. The picture looks amazing when streaming Netflix, I have no idea wether it really is 4K that I am seeing but it looks good. I cannot find a way to see the actual resolution being streamed. Youtube videos supposedly streamed in 4K do not look 4K to me. Again I have not figured out how to tell what resolution is actually being displayed. There are many Hisense service horror stories on the web about this TV, and the 4 year warranty. I am taking a chance on this company, but I admit I am very nervous about it.
