Replaced a Vizio Smart TV which lost it's wi-fi capabilities after 18 months. Only solution was to replace motherboard so I moved it to the den with a wi-fi dvd connected. This TV was simple to set up and was recognized immediately by my Xfinity remote. Love the picture and have no issues with the sound quality. Internet apps connect quickly and stream seamlessly. At a price $349, I went ahead and bought a 5 year extended warranty. Salesman said it was a brighter picture than similar priced Insignia 50" TV (also highly rated). Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Wanted a 4k tv without breaking the bank and so I ended up with this 50" Hisense tv. For the price i paid ($349) I'm really suprised at the picture quality and sound from this tv. I do have a LG soundbar system that I hooked up to this but I'm really suprised at how the TV remote synced my LG sound bar to it too, eliminating the need to use my LG soundbar remote. There are different sound and picture options to choose from as well in the menu which is nice too, which also suprised me. Setup is pretty simple and easy. I hope this tv can last me a few years until I upgrade again. Overall, I would definitely recommend this tv to anyone looking to upgrade to 4k without breaking the bank!

This tv has far exceeded my expectations. It has impressive sound, and an incredible picture. The price was fantastic as well. I was leery about buying an "off" brand, but I couldn't be happier. I would buy a HIsense TV again. Shipping also took half the amount of time they said it would. Set up was a breeze and the apps are easy to use. I've had zero problems.

Great TV for a low price!

Let me start by saying that I am an absolute amateur when it comes to TVs. I wanted a bigger TV for my bedroom as I couldn't read subtitles on my 40 inch TV any more (that's what age will do). And while I was at it, I thought I'd get a 4k TV. I am only going to watch TV through my cable provider, no gaming, no roku, no youtube. I selected this TV based upon reviews and talking with the salesman at the store. I was not disappointed. As a matter of fact, it exceeded my expectations! The set up was a snap--and I usually have to get help with this. I plugged in my cable and voila, it actually worked right off the bat! The TV set itself up for my wifi and off we went. I purchased a sound bar which I am going to return. Although this isn't the surround sound that I have in my family room, it is just what I need for the bedroom. For under $350 (it was on sale), you just can't beat it.

I received my Hisense H8G two days ago. It arrived on time, packaged in a double box that was perfect. I was going to invest in a H9G but I am on a very limited budget. The tv is for the bedroom and I thought I would settle for the H8G. To my surprise there is no settling needed. This tv rocks. It took me months of studying to make my decision on which TV to buy. I feel my studies paid off. Within 1 hour it was on my wall and adjusted to my taste. It is my 1st 4k TV and I was very sorry I waited. The picture, sound and appearance is fantastic. Thank you Hisense for creating a TV that even a broke old dude can afford. Great job.

If price is all that matters

I read the reviews about this TV, both here and elsewhere online so I felt fairly confident that I was getting a pretty good deal. I bought this to replace an aging LG HDTV that was well past its prime, but I wanted to keep the cost down until OLED becomes more mainstream in a few years. Well, if price is your only criteria, maybe this hits the spot. Don't get me wrong, this TV is bright and colorful, but I found it too frustrating to watch. First of all the blacks on this TV appear dark bluish purple, at every preset, and the levels are crushed, giving a very contrasty look in the dark areas even after contrast/brightness/ backlight/color adjustments. Letterboxed content was too distracting with the black areas oddly tinted like this. I played with the custom controls for days using calibration images and program material, but when I finally got the black levels close the mid-tone colors were still unnatural, and I still couldn't get the blue-green color cast out of the dark grays. The gamma appears to be off. But the unnatural color fidelity on this TV wasn't the most frustrating part, it was the extremely narrow viewing angle that annoyed me the most. The color saturation falls off starting at about 10-15 degrees off center, so if your'e not directly in front of this TV the colors start to wash out. Oddly, not all of the colors appear to degrade evenly, you notice it primarily the flesh tones before the primaries give way. Flesh tones can look pale or grayish as you move off-center, but other colors can still appear saturated, giving a false sense of a washed out picture. Yes, I tried every color preset and every custom setting, but it was just too much to watch. This situation was made worse by the on screen controls blocking much of the screen, making adjustments a time consuming hit or miss exercise. The remote is pretty standard, the TV menu interface is pretty clunky, and there are some significant lags when switching between menu items, but the apps are serviceable. I primarily use an AppleTV for content, and it worked well with this set. Also the built-in speakers are okay for this price point. So I returned this set after a week (thank you Best Buy) and bought an entry level 4K HDR Samsung instead. A little bit more, but beautiful, balanced and easy to look at picture right out of the box, with much more forgiving off-angle viewing and an elegant and easy to use interface. The difference is night and day. My advice: Pass on this. There's more to a good image than just specifications. Do yourself a favor and spend just a little more for an established brand name before being lured by the ultra low price of this entry level TV. Especially if you love good picture quality and overall usability.

I told my mom if she could get me a tv and she "No you have to work for your own" Btw Im 15 so anyways I said okay so It took my 2 weeks make $400. I decided to look online for a good tv before I bought one. Then I came across this tv, I read all the reviews and I decided to buy it. What really surprised me is that was $350 for a 50 inch 4k tv. When I got home I unboxed it, set it up, and plugged it in. There was several updates it asked me to do. So i did them it took 10 minutes all together. The final result was OUTSTANDING! I dont regret buying this tv at all!

The picture is great as well as the sound quality! You won't be disappointed in night scenes either, once you turn the dynamic contrast setting to 4. Really does well with motion and displays vibrant colors. The sound is DBX software combined with 20 total watts speaker power and sounds great on the standard setting - clear highs and lows. Be sure to turn on the DBX surround sound setting for tv and it also boosts stereo receiver surround sound.

At the encouragement of the salesman, I bought this TV. Setup was easy. Picture is decent. The colors wash out as you move from directly in front of the TV. I would actually keep it if it wasn't for the Apps. I am very disappointed. To watch HBO, you must go online. That is fine except the TV won't actually select when I click "log in". There's a bunch of apps that I've never heard of or would use AND I can't download any apps that I actually like. *Make sure you screw the leg stands in completely so it is sturdy.

Great TV for the price. $349.99. Picture is bright and clear. Great sound for TV speakers. Clear as a bell. Can still see picture at almost 90 degree angle from screen. Hooked my old JVC home theater up no problem. Only negative is apps. Can't load HULU. Have APPLE TV so no problem there. We shall see in about a year if still working. Hope so.

    Barely worth the money

For the money, this tv was sufficient. As long as you’re prepared to wait for the Android operating system to change channels, open apps, change volume or do whatever else you’ve requested, you’ll be fine. What I couldn’t handle was the malfunctioning HDMI ports. The soundbar would get disconnected randomly.

This TV is a good price with a great picture, but........ Everytime you change the channel on the TWC cable box the TV makes a high pitch squeal. When you fast forward or rewind on the DVR box there is a continuous high pitch squeal. I called Hisense nearly a week ago and was assigned a case number. This is a known problem with the Hisense software in the way it receives the digital signal. I had gotten no response from the company and called back yesterday. I was told they are working on an update to correct the problem however they have no timeframe on when or if there will be a resolution.
