I bought it and return it because it said the hdr was detected but u have to go and turn it on in the setting. I didn’t know that n I didn’t see it when I was looking for it in the settings

Other than a 32" Vizio TV I purchased back when Vizio came around, I've never purchased a "budget" display. I was in the market for a new set and didn't want to spend a ton of money, but at the same time, I wasn't going to just spend money on a new set unless there was a quality unit available. After doing some serious research, having considered LG's 49UH6100 for $150 more as well as Vizio's new E Series, I landed on the Hisense H8 model...and let me tell you, IT IS IMPRESSIVE!!! I've tweaked some basic color settings but plan on using one of my calibration discs to really try and get better picture out of this set, but just with the built in presets (Theatre), the TV looks fantastic! Comes with a 4 Year Manufacturer's Warranty and packs some great future proof features that will keep you happy while 4K Technology continues to evolve. While the display states that it has built in HDR, it's no where near the HDR technology in higher quality sets, but then again, HDR is a new technology in 4K sets this year so why spend thousands on something their isn't a ton of content for yet. And who knows where HDR will be in 3 years (can you say 3D). Has a full array LED backlight with local dimming, which is fantastic in getting those blacks darker. The set also has some great sound. Definitely the best I've ever heard on flat panel. If you don't plan on connecting this to a Soundbar or other Surround Sound, you'll certainly enjoy the sound you get out of this unit. A lot of you will have questions over the refresh rate. This TV has a native refresh rate of 60Hz. Believe it or not, most TV's that claim higher refresh rates, actually have native refresh rates of 60Hz and instead use video processing techniques to create higher refresh rate effects. I've watched movies, sports, and played PS4 without any issues. The set has some built in motion control options that quite honestly doesn't look any different than my Samsung, Sony, and LG sets I have at home and these TVs are considered 120Hz (60Hz native, the rest's effects). Whether or not you're a fan of higher refresh rates is going to be a personal preference. Other than watching sports, I personally am not a fan of the Soap Opera effect that these higher refresh rate effects create and normally actually turn off motion control completely, or leave it on its lowest setting. Visually, the set is beautiful to look at. Looks and feels premium, has thin bezels keeping its footprint small while still giving you a bright, beautiful display. Believe it or not, it's actually the same width as my 3 year old 46" Samsung LCD. I will say this; my first unit that I purchased I had to return. I went to turn it on and the display must have fallen in the warehouse because the display was cracked. But, the great staff at Best Buy promptly replaced it with a new working set! Take this issue with a grain of salt, LCD/LED displays are delicate pieces of equipment and this could happen to absolutely any make and model set. Folks, do not hesitate to buy this set. Hisense is actually a very popular brand world wide for LCD/LED displays and is on a mission to rip into the US Market with it's 2016 lineup of displays! Stop thinking about this, walk into your local Best Buy and see it for yourself on display!

Sometimes I have to literally unplug the unit from the wall and replug in to get the unit to turn on. Picture is great. Wish I would have got a Samsung.

Great tv. A little skeptical because of the price but it is the best picture on a tv I have seen withought spending $3000 on one. You will not regret this purchase at all.

So far so good. Price is low, quality is good. Design is good. I especially like the software system in the TV. Don’t like Ruku which requires account.

Overall its a great product especially considering the price it has. Great 4k tv purchase for those that have a budget. Quality is there, and so is the performance.

we purchased this tv based off of reviews and at Christmas the price was right. I was however skeptical because of the name, but happy I gave it a try.

Generally, this tv is fine as far as picture quality, etc. but my biggest complaint with it is that sometimes, randomly, you cannot turn it off with the remote and since there isn't a power switch on the tv itself, you have to unplug it to get it to reset. This has happened several times, not just once or twice.

I can't provide a terrible review for this TV as it was broken when I set it up and turned it on. I'm not sure if it's the packaging or the handling but I don't think it would be fair to give a bad review because of it. I returned it with no issues to BestBuy who helped me by getting me a replacement tv which served my purposes (I really wanted to go with this one because of the good reviews it has had but the last TV they had just had an issue). I still think you should give it a shot as I just happened to get a bad one that day.

It really is a good set, so far no problems, updates were quick, and the speakers are surprisingly good. We still use a sound bar, but we had one already.

Overall very happy with the purchase. So much so we bought two. Wish there could be a firmware update to remedy not being able to mirror a laptop screen running Windows 10.

This was my second hisense TV bought for the garage I am able to listen to music whatever TV shows I want and the quality of the TV at this price point is execellent

the tv was fine for about three weeks, then i started noticing a screen bleed in all four corners. the tv shuts itself off randomly. i'm so disappointed in my purchase.

This TV is unreal! I'm still getting used to the 4k. I like having easy access to Netflix and AmAZON. the price was right. So far no complaints.

If you can get it under the list price, this is a great entry level 4K TV. Considering TV doesn't even broadcast in 4K yet, this is a solid investment.

I love this TV which functions more like a giant size laptop. Easy setup and the graphics, functionality were far beyond my expectations
