    No Hulu... Who Knew?

This is a decent TV for the money. But I sure do wish our salesman would have warned us that Hisense and Hulu don’t mix. Apparently Hulu won’t allow Hisense to access their service At All, from Any of their TV’s. Such a waste of time and effort. I thought that I had ask all the right questions but obviously I didn’t ask about Hulu...

Need to upgrade everything to enjoy all that fancy

I'm not a high tech person but I just had gotten this tv because it was a Labor Day sale item. The picture for regular tv was ok but once I logged in to my Netflix account (which is my primary source of tv); it automatically asked me to upgrade my Netflix account to UHD to enjoy my 4k tv to the fullest. Well then that defeats the purpose of buying a tv on sale when i have to increase my Netflix payment. Sure its only $2 a month but ill be paying that forever. 2nd issue, this tv's app store didnt offer Slingtv (my 2nd source of tv watching). So this means i would still have to use my firestick on a smart tv which is crazy. 3rd, It says viewing from the side is good. No it isn't. The picture is too bright; everyone watching with you would have to come together and sit in front of tv to enjoy the picture. Sometimes i think the pic of tv is just too bright and I dont know if its the HDR thing going on. I wasn't into this tv... I returned it within my 15 days and purchased a Sharpe ROKU which i absolutely love. Its a better choice. I did away from the 4k HDR's and stuck to LED 1080p smart tv... Dont need to add on the extra fanciness (and price). I did see that Hisense, a few days later, showed up on the BB website with a ROKU platform. I still opted for Sharpe, knowing that its an older and well known brand.

NO HDR SUPPORT FOR APPS OR HDMI (USB ONLY PER TECH

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

High Dynamic Range: This TV has no High Dynamic Range (HDR) from HDMI inputs or Apps (Netflix) and while Hisense tech support states that HDR is only supported on USB ports (this is just crazy) why would anyone buy a TV for USB HDR support only. The package and documentation don’t state anywhere that HDR is for USB only and there is no indicator that tells you the content being played form USB is HDR. 4 Year Warranty: While Hisense boasts about their 4 year warranty, I have been unable to register online for the past 30 days (you must register for the 4 year warranty within 90 days). I contacted support only to have them take the same information that the website requires to register for the 4 year warranty + Address Info and they can't register my product over the phone. I need to send them an email with copies of the receipt and 4 year warranty card, which the online warranty registration does not require. Television operating system (OS): The TV OS can get really slow, not just for Apps but even for input switching and changing volume. I had the remote stop responding a couple times and had to remove and reinsert the batteries to resolve this. In regards to Apps, Netflix and Youtube work great (No PLEX) but you can’t disable or uninstall most Apps that you don’t use. Picture/Sound: To my eyes 4K/UHD content looks great (Netflix/Youtube/USB) and the sound is pretty decent for a flat screen TV (much better that my Panasonic Plasma) The bottom line: The only reason I’m keeping this TV is because of the 4K picture quality compared to similar 4K TV sets at the price and size. I paid $380+tax. No manufacturer should be allowed to market their product as having HDR (or any feature) that can’t be used as intended. It’s like buying a pair of sunglasses that can only be used at night.

Hi Damian! The 2016 4K TV's with HDR local processing capabilities currently support HDR10 via USB input (use the USB 3.0 input). Our software engineers are working on an update to enable HDR10 via HDMI input, which will come out in September 2016.

I had purchase this TV on Saturday and I had to return it on Monday to the Insignia 4k Roku TV. The Hisense has great picture resolution and the sound is outstanding. However, the tv is lacking of apps and not compatible with google play store. I was trying to download TWC TV app on it so that I don't need to use a Roku box it doesn't support that and the internet was lagging the entire time that I've tried to use it. Overall nice TV lack of apps.

Was looking for a budget friendly replacement to my Panasonic Plasma and think I found it. I'm normally loyal to Samsung as I've just never been disappointed in anything I've bought from them, but for the value is thought I'd give this a shot. Out of the crate it was great for gaming but definitely needed tuned to watch TV without distortion. Now that it's tuned I'd recommend this TV to anyone looking for a second TV for the house.

I use this in my living room for everyday use, it's great. I've owned it for about 1 month and I don't have any complaints. I just calibrated it using the settings from Rtings, it has a great picture now. It has Netflix and amazon, plus other apps. The viewing angle is not an issue for me and we have seating across the back of the room.

    Worst Customer Service Experience Ever

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Do not buy any Hisense product. They are by far the worst run and managed company I have ever dealt with. There customer care and service department is a joke. Through every level you speak with, it's the same thing..."I am sorry and I apologize but I can't help you." No one is empowered to assist or provide even a basic level of reasonable customer support. They clearly do not care about their clients. " I purchased this TV for my daughter in January 2017. It is now February 24th and the TV is still not working. Initially the internal speakers were not working. Then a few days later the screen started to flicker (double image). I spoke with Hisense and the customer representative ensured me that "both" problems were due to a "bad" main circuit board. They agreed to send a local technician to repair the TV. We waited over a week for a technician to show up. He preplaced the board, checked the speakers and left, having never addressed or checked the issue with the flickering screen. When I called Hisense to discuss and ask why, they told me that the Technician reported to them that the TV was fixed. When I explained that the TV was not fixed and the screen was still flickering, they told me I had to wait at least 48 hours for them to speak with the Technician regarding the repair. Almost 72 hours later they contacted me asking me to send the photos of the problem. I took a video that day and sent it to them. Several days passed and they finally responded that the panel appeared to be bad but we needed to send them the TV for them to evaluate. When I asked about the process of shipping them the TV, they said if we did not have the original box, we would have to go to a UPS or FedEx store and pay to have the TV boxed and they would send us a shipping label. Yep they wanted us to pay the packaging costs to ship their broken product back to them for evaluation. They said normally they would send us a box for free but "they were out of boxes?" I assume that is because they have so many lousy and defective products being returned that they ran out of boxes. Fortunately my daughter had saved the box in her storage unit and sent Hisense back the TV. Because this had gone on for 6 weeks with no resolution, I again contacted Hisense and requested an expedited process. They said no, that I had to go through their normal repair process. Frustrated and with no contact from Hisense since returning the TV for repair, I decided to call them yet again today. I spent over an hour on the phone and was told the TV had been repaired. The panel was defective and was replaced. So bad main board and bad panel. Seems like lousy quality control. When I asked them about timing on the return, I was given the run around and told I should have a tracking number in about 3 days and that it could take another 5 days to receive the TV. Once again I requested to speak with an "Operations Manager." He apologized several times and assured me he understood I was frustrated but that there was nothing he could do to expedite the process. I asked them to return ship the TV overnight. He said several times that was not possible. When I assured him it was in fact "possible" for a company to ship items overnight he told me again and again it was not possible. In conclusion. They sell a lousy product. They back it up with a terrible warrantee and a customer service group that does not care or even understand the very basics of customer service. Even worse, they are not empowered to do anything but read off a script and quote their process. I offered to bring the TV back to store where purchased, they said no. I asked them if we shipped them back the TV could they deliver a new one to expedite the process they said no. I asked them if I could send them back the TV for a refund, allowing me to then purchase another TV quickly. They said no. So they sell you a defective product and you are stuck with it until "their" process is completed. A process that has taken 2 months and still no TV. Do NOT buy a Hisense product.
