    WATCH OUT!

Watch out!!!! Now 2 tv's in a row that broke within the first 30 days. They expect me now to wait for a tech to come out and fix the NEW TV which i paid full price for. If you google this issue there is all kinds of websites with a bunch of people who all had the same issues with this brand of TV going back years. Within a few months the TV's just stop working.. even worse sometimes even after tech has came out. Save yourself time and in the end money and pick a different brand.

    Could be better

I was told that this TV had a better picture than the Visio. We wanted a less expensive TV than Samsung, LG, etc. This TV has had some issues with it freezing up trying to load Amazon, Netflix or even there own menu. The picture quality is not really something to write home about,

    No HULU?

So I took a gamble with this off brand because I heard great things. I have had this TV for a few days and everything looks and sounds great except when I was told that HULU is not supported. AT ALL. Side note: When I asked the BestBuy sales guy if the TV had HULU, he replied, "Of Course it has HULU." Sorry Hisense, the TV is going back. I have no idea who made the decision not include one of the major online suppliers but they made an unfortunate mistake. Why would I buy a smart TV and then use a Firestick or ROKU? It like wanting to buy a pickup truck but buying a car and a trailer...just buy the pickup folks!

    Not truly HDR

    Posted .

Bought this 9/9/16 expecting the HDR through HDMI issue to be fixed. It has not been fixed! Just hooked up my Xbox One S and it tells me this Tv does not support HDR. Fact is, this product should have never left the warehouse without supporting HDR through HDMI. Who ever thought people would buy a 4K with HDR and not want to have it displayed from their 4K blurays? Hisense you have a limited number of days to fix this or this will go back to the store. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU WANT HDR!!!!

Hi! Our software engineers are working on an update to enable HDR10 via HDMI input, which would give the TV the compatibility to Xbox One S. The update is scheduled to come out in late September. And you should be able to get the update by going to "Settings">"About TV" > "Check Firmware Update". If you can't receive an update over the air, you can always contact us at 1-888-935-8880 to request for one. Hisense

Unresolved issues - support is terrible

Unit would freeze on a certain digital over-the-air channel and would not respond to remote control and lock up forcing me to unplug unit to restore functionality. It was not due to a weak signal. They sent a tech out twice to replace parts, sent back to mfg twice and replaced with a new unit once. Mfg is in denial of problem now and refuses to do refund. Other issues experienced with original unit and new unit - apps slow to respond, TV sound and channel changes can be slow to respond to remote. Recently tried to power unit on and it would not. I had to unplug power, wait awhile, plug back in and then it worked. TV has cheap components with issues. Very poor viewing angles. I finally sold the TV out of frustration. Was working with Hisense for 5 months trying to resolve issues. I will never buy ANY Hisense product again! Buy at your own risk.

I ordered my TV specifically for use with the Xbox one S but it's not compatible I got the TV in the beginning of August it's now September 24th just got my Xbox one S today and man am I disappointed! I didn't see any reviews that stated that this TV didn't really support HDR until today and I see the replies from Hisense saying an update was coming in early September and then a later reply saying it's supposed to coming late September well September is almost over where is this update already?

The local refresh rate for this TV is 60Hz. The Ultra Smooth Motion allows the TV to insert created frames in between the frames shown on a video to combat motion blur. Ultra Smooth Motion creates a better flowing image by doubling the refresh rate to 120Hz. According to PC Mag, for most television and movie watching, you'll probably want to keep the refresh rate set to 60Hz, anyway. Just keep the benefits in mind for sports and games, and don't feel the need to push past 120Hz. Anything higher really is more of a gimmick than a truly useful feature. Hisense

    No av out

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Didn't realize in 2016 buying a cheaper 50" tv wouldn't have very basic ports. My bad. Went home and removed my 12 year old Samsung from its wall mount which was connected to a 13 yr old Bose home theatre. Quickly attached av cables etc and hooked this pig up to wall bracket. After and hour of no sound from Bose system I had another numb moment and called hisense tech support. They were dumb founded by my problem and of course I could no longer see the back of the tv. Had 3 different people on the line brain storming how my nose system went bad. Lol. Then I looked again at the box and realized this price leader only has av in. Lol. Thank god they make a converter still for headphone jack out to av (rc). Overall the picture for (4K) isn't any better in my opinion from my old Samsung plasma. Lesson learned. Spend the extra $200 bucks !!!

This TV does not work with the 4K Apple TV

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Hisense support is absolute garbage to have to deal with And the 50H8C tv is a terrible product that will fail during basic use. They released a software ‘update’ to enable the enhanced HDMI mode, a feature that should have been included in the first place and it doesn’t even work properly with 4K devices, ie Apple TV or Xbox One. I am cutting my losses after taking a risk on them and am now going to buy a completely different (and much better quality) tv.
