The setup was VERY simple took me about 20 minutes and that included mounting it on my new stand and hooking up the cables. the onscreen interface is easily understood. the 4K upscaling works great with the 1080P i receive from my DIRECT TV.. The colors are very bright and vivid.

Excellent budget 4k TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've tried the TCL 4 series, 5 series, LG budget model, the insignia fire tv and now the HiSense R7 50". Out of all the budget models I've tried this one has the best picture. Screen is very uniform, sound is really decent for tv speakers. No light bleed compared to others. Roku blows away the WebOS on the Lg. So far so good. Just some minor setting changes for the picture and everything looks great on this model, given the price. Sure it is not as great as my $1500 Sony living room TV but I never expected it to be. For $300 this TV is wonderful.

Beautiful TV

Great Roku 4k tv except the sound

The tv speakers are not very loud, so I bought the Insignia mini soundbar. The Insignia - 2.0-Channel Soundbar with Digital Amplifier Model: NS-SB216 using an optical cable will not annoy your neighbors, but it's way better than using the tv speakers.

Great TV for the price

Only thing that I find to be below par is the sound quality. Sometimes the speaker reminds me of some old Radio Shack speakers I had back in the early 70s that had dry rotted. When I connected it to a sound bar it sounded great.

Great Tv

This is the first tv I've ever bought on my own and it's great. Multiple HDMI ports, ports for older devices (VCRs, PS2s, etc), great display/sound, and a solid smartphone app that functions as an enhanced remote.

DO NOT BUY THIS TV

The TV shut off 13 days after I bought it and wouldn't turn on again. I unplugged it, I unplugged my router, I removed all the cables, etc. and still I could not get it to turn on. I had to take it back and the only good thing about this TV is that it broke within Best Buys very lame 15 day return policy. I would NEVER recommend this TV brand to anyone. Also when I returned it the nice women at the return counter said "Oh you bought the Hisense, this brand is returned all the time." Spent a little extra and bought a Samsung Smart TV ( also bought the extended warranty just in case). I can't believe the sell these big Hisense hunks of junk.

Frustrating
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this last year for Black Friday and was very excited BUT this tv is SLOW, takes forever to turn on, it gets stuck, and sometimes it randomly shuts off . Great quality and very HD but that’s about it . I would recommend buying this if this is the cheapest option.

Poor streaming functions
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture is OK, but the streaming quality is Not....No youtube, it just quit working, I called support and they just acknowledged the problem and shined me on...sounded like they didn't pay their bills because many other listed channels work...then don't work. sometimes the unit will not come on and you have to unplug it to reset I guess......Not real happy with this brand

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of box, built in speakers do not work. Headphone jack doesn’t work. 3.5mm line out does work. Other sound jacks I haven’t tried yet, purchasing a sound bar and crossing fingers that the optical audio works. Picture is good and refresh rate is acceptable. Apps work well and are fairly quick. Extremely disappointed with the audio issue obviously.

terrible TV....waste of time and money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.You get what you pay for...I knew I shouldn't be going of this "too-good-to-be-true" offer. Colors are extremely pale and you can't adjust the depth on this particular model, but maybe on others. In the settings you can choose "bright", "normal", "darker", but it doesn't give you richer color. My old, almost 10 year old Toshiba 1080p gives me so much better experience. You can't install a web browser in Roku...What? Anything that is not offered in apps by Roku cannot by viewed. You would think there is a way around it by using mirroring option off your gadget instead of loading something on a browser on the TV itself. But oh no! You can't do it either if own Apple products as Roku supports Android. Well, there are barely any people who don't have an Apple product, therefore mirroring function becomes useless. Returning this one most definitely.

Picture sucks and home fees not included

Looks blurry not a clear picture. I created a account just to give a bad review. When I got home, I couldn’t Watch the tv unless I paid for Roku tv. I did not want Roku because I have cable, so I had to pay just to watch tv. I’m super mad. I have never been so disappointed in my life over a t.v. Yes I’m mad. I want to see a clear picture, the people look fake on t.v. I’m probably not making any sense because I’m so mad. Trust me when I say, DO NOT BUY. And when they sale you the t.v they won’t tell you about the fee just to watch the tv. 50,00 dollars

Motion smoothing cannot be shut off

Motion smoothing distorts the cinematic experience by adding artificially generated frames. Almost all films are intended to be seen at 24 frames per second. This tv turns everything into 60 - 120 frames per second. This is not a tv for serious movie lovers.

Don’t buy this tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv a little more than one year , I spent 480$ to get it , it was perfect until a week ago when the screen just froze, and remote won’t do anything, hisense won’t help now because of one year warranty. Terrible experience I will never ever buy a hisense product anymore, and I will never recommend it to someone
